This 2007 Honda Odyssey in in excellent mechanical condition.  The vehicle is about to turn 100,000 miles which consists mostly of highway miles.  The 100k service was completed at Piedmont Honda Cars in Anderson, SC.  The service is valued at $1,300.00 and consisted of new timing belt, new platinum plugs, valve adjustments, new water pump, new drive belt, and new hoses.  The vehicle was serviced at Piedmont Honda Cars in Anderson and is ready to be driven anywhere as it is very reliable and runs as strong as it did the day we drove it off of the lot brand new.  The brakes were replaced at about 80k, the Michelin tires have about 10-15k left on them and the transmission service is good for about another 10k miles.  This vehicle is ready to go and has been a great van for our family and one of the lowest maintenance vehicles we have owned!  The fuel mileage is about 18 to 19 around town and 25 on the highway no matter how you drive or what you do.  The aesthetics of the vehicle are good as you can see from the photos, but it has one or two body dings and a scratch on the hood that is not noticeable unless you get really close to it.  The interior seats are in excellent condition.  There are stains on the floor mats, but those are easily replaceable and you'll have a new looking interior.  The windshield has a scratch on the passenger side from a wiper that failed during a rainstorm on a return trip from the FL Keys, but it also is hardly noticeable as you can see from the photos.  We bought this van brand new in 2007 and it has mostly been driven by my wife.  This 3.5L V6 engine has been a good engine for Honda and you would be pleased at the handling and the pickup this van has.  We purchased it as it rides like a sports sedan, but has the room we needed for a family of 5.  We are only selling this because we are buying a home in the mountains of NW SC and need the money toward a down payment on our new home.  We hate to see this go, but we need to sell it.  If you're looking for a van that's in great shape, is reliable, looks good, and can drive worry free for years to come; then this is the van for you.  Everything works, no leaks, no squeaks, no noises, runs strong, and you'll be pleased with a great ride.  The van has tinted windows all the way around, cruise control, CD player, power windows and locks, dual zone air conditioning with separate controls for the rear, fold down rear seats and removable second row seats.  Vehicle was bought and has remained in the south and is rust free.

Surprise! McLaren and Honda finally call it quits

Tue, Sep 12 2017

It's been coming for a long while, so it should surprise no one to learn that McLaren and Honda have finally called it quits. Sources confirmed to Motorsport.com and Sky Sports that the two companies have finally settled on a deal that will end a partnership that has been nothing but heartache and tears. McLaren has reportedly inked a three-year deal to use Renault engines, ending in 2020 along with the current engine regulations. This also means McLaren driver Fernando Alonso is likely to extend his contract beyond the end of this season. When Honda first announced it was returning to F1 with McLaren, fans had visions of Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button reliving the glory days of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost in the late 1980s. The truth couldn't be further removed. At points, McLaren has struggled to make it the full race distance, much less win races and fight for championships. Frankly, it's been embarrassing for both Honda and McLaren. No one comes out a winner here. Honda has sullied any reputation it had in F1, while Alonso's talent and McLaren's engineering expertise were both wasted the past few seasons. According to Motorsport.com, McLaren will get the same engine parity as the factory Renault Sport team as well as Red Bull Racing. Assuming that McLaren can provide a competitive chassis, that should vault it at least into the middle of the pack. Team principal Zak Brown hasn't been quiet about his frustrations. After both McLaren drivers failed to finish in Italy, Brown told Sky Sports, "We need to get more competitive. This weekend showed we're not making any significant progress." Meanwhile, Toro Rosso will switch from Renault to Honda power, with Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz Jr. making the move to Renault. What that means for Red Bull's junior team is unclear. Check out the orange McLaren-Honda racecar that might actually win a race

Wed, May 3 2017

Following the announcement that Fernando Alonso, two-time F1 world champion, would drive a McLaren-Honda IndyCar in this year's Indianapolis 500, we now get to see the car. Naturally, being a McLaren, it's painted in the company's official orange hue. It's actually even more orange than the company's Formula 1 cars, which are two-tone: orange and black. The reveal of the car's livery comes in conjunction with Alonso's first testing day at the Indianapolis Speedway, which you can watch live, here. Alonso has never participated in the Indy 500 before, nor has he been behind the wheel of Indy cars. That doesn't mean he can't win, though. Fellow Formula 1 racer Alexander Rossi took home the win last year, and that was his first time at the 500. Rossi also won in an Andretti-backed, Honda-powered car, just as Alonso will this year. So it isn't unreasonable to think Alonso could win, or at least place well. Certainly his odds are better than driving one of the beleaguered McLaren-Honda F1 cars at Monaco that same weekend. Honda Walking Assist Device begins US testing at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago

Sun, 17 Nov 2013

For years, we've been wondering what implications Honda's Asimo robot could have in the real world, and now we're starting to get a sense of that. Honda announced that it will begin its first US clinical studies of the Walking Assist Device at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago in an effort to provided improved mobility for people who have suffered a stroke. While the automotive tie-in here is pretty weak, this is the first time we've heard about this device since it was unveiled back in 2008.
Weighing in at six pounds, Honda's device is fitted to the waist and legs of patients to make it easier to walk, and the 22.2-volt lithium-ion battery provides enough electricity for more than an hour of operation. According to Honda's press release, which is posted below, up to 80 percent of the almost 800,000 stroke victims each year (in the US alone) are afflicted with limited mobility, so a medical aid like this could have a big impact in the real world.
