1991 Honda Crx HF 358,870 miles 40mpg 5 speed w/AC California car that has never seen snow.
I am moving to Japan in January and this has to go. It's also the reason you see a lot of my rare parts up for sale.
Installed:
Interior: - USDM Double Din w/Accord Radio and Crx Equalizer
- JDM Climate Control (numbers are different)
- JDM “Nonsmoking” Personal Box
- New OEM shift knob
- JDM Honda Access Steering Wheel
- EDM rare LHD Power Window Switches w/rare “Honda” crank covers
- USDM Floor mats in good condition
- Rare Armrest (not cracked, WITH original Felt), cushion padding is worn
- JDM rear Cloth seats w/rear carpet (cloth ones are very hard to find)
- JDM rear cargo cover (different than USDM)
- JDM glass top maplight and sunvisors
- JDM “Cr-x” Seats.
- EDM “Pieces” coin box w/original felt lining
- JDM Bass Tubes
- JDM Super Sound Speaker covers (I couldn’t get the retaining clips to fit on the back, but will include them with the sale. They appear to stay in place fine though)
The interior has been converted from blue interior to black interior. I had slightly been building the Crx from the inside out. Interior is in really good shape for its age. I need to finish up replacing some parts on the door panels that’s why there are not pictures of them at the moment.
Exterior: - Original paint besides the front end
- JDM Fenders w/sidemarkers, wired up correctly (JDM fenders are stamped for the side markers)
- USDM front complete mask/bra
- JDM rear taillights
- Rear center light is a combination of an EDM rear fog light installed in JDM center garnish (I never heard of anyone else doing this)
- USDM optional arch protectors (fronts aren’t installed but I do have)
- Full mud flap set (these were from a low mileage JDM car, so good condition)
- USDM Very RARE OEM Louvre (in ok condition, could be reconditioned properly)
- Driver side door has new OEM hinges
- New Crx Si exhaust muffler with tips
This car has been in 2 accidents that I am aware of it. First accident someone was stopped entrance and caused people to swerve around. I was hit in the front two corners. The second accident someone reversed into my front bumper. The front right is pushed in about 1/8 of an inch. Very little. As you can see everything lines up nearly perfect. Before the accident the front end was completely original. I had big plans for this car next year!
Suspension: - 3/4 OEM HF wheels, unfortunately 1 wheel is a regular DX (HF’s are HF specific)
- Tires have less than roughly 15,000 miles on them
- Springs from a Crx Si, with Tokico Illumina struts
- New inner/outer tie rods
- New upper/lower ball joints
- New front calipers
- New front brake pads
- New front brake rotors
- New rack and pinion retaining clip
- New inner tie rod boot (passenger side)
- Rack and Pinion was recently adjusted
I had the driver side front strut go bad so I purchased some Tokico Illuminas for a fair price. They were just installed last week. I currently have the settings set to 3 but they are a bit loud. When I’m on really uneven surface it sounds like bad struts, but when I am on regular roads it sounds fine. Besides that the car drives great.
Engine: - Original d15b6 engine
- New OEM head gasket (has leakage at the mating surface though)
- New OEM timing belt
- New Aftermarket tensioner
- New OEM water pump
- New OEM thermostat
- New OEM oil pan gasket
- MFactory magnetic oil plug
- New Aftermarket Intake/Exhaust manifold gaskets
- New OEM valve seals
- Valves lapped
- Valve cover powder-coated original black wrinkle
- New Aftermarket Oxygen sensor
- New OEM spark plugs
- New OEM spark plug wires
- New OEM distributor cap
- New OEM distributor rotor
- New OEM Input shaft bearing (tranny)
- New OEM counter shaft bearing (tranny)
- New OEM tranny magnet
- Tranny recently sealed with HondaBond
- New Aftermarket axles
- New OEM battery tie down w/new bolts_nuts
- New Aftermarket alternator
- New Aftermarket radiator
- New Aftermarket radiator upper and lower hoses
- New OEM Heater core hoses
- New Battery
I had tried to keep the engine original as possible, but it’s starting to show its age. I really believe the cylinder block needs to be evened. I had the cylinder head fixed up nicely but it still has a small burning of fluids and leaking of fluids. I can include a spare d15b6 and/or d15z1 (vx) at no additional cost, but both are disassembled. I had planned to swap in the d15z1 next summer. On occasion it will have the idle problem that commonly plagues these vehicles.
Not installed, but will include all or whatever parts buyer would like please let me know after winning the auction:
Exterior: - USDM New OEM side moldings
- USDM 1 new driver side b-pillar molding
- New rear quarter window molding
- USDM 2 front arch protectors (used)
- JDM 2 new OEM side markers (in original packaging)
- New Rear mud flaps
- USDM new front lip w/new OEM hardware (sold separately from lip)
- New roof channel molding
- Replacement front bumper (used but good condition)
- LHD wiper spoiler (crx specific)
Suspension: - Optional USDM HF wheels, VERY rare but these currently have ice racing tires on them and are painted a bronze color.
Engine: - If buyer is interested I have a disassembled d15b6 engine, and/or a disassembled d15z1 engine (Civic Vx).
Overall: This has been my pride and joy for the past 5.5 years. I have slowly been building it. Next summer I had planned to have it painted (original white) and install a glass top. It is very difficult for me to list this up for sale. I had tried every which way to keep this car but it doesn’t make sense for it to sit for years in hopes of working on it again. I feel this car is right on the edge of being great with a bit of work (all of which is basically included). The add-ons, accessories, and extras are worth more than my asking price.
**I'm not positive if my Veteran plates can go with the car. Otherwise I may ask the seller to send them back to me**
Click the link below for a video of 1st gear through 5th gear. For some reason the car sounds loud in the video but it's not that loud. Click below for a video of the off idle.
After winning the auction: Has to be picked up in person. I can pick buyer up from the MSP airport, Minneapolis train station, or a Minneapolis bus (Greyhound/Mega Bus) station. If buyer is located within 8 hours from me I could deliver/meet for a fee ($50 first hour, and $25 every hour after) plus fuel cost of the Crx and my wife's car (for there and back). Full payment+estimated fuel cost/fee needs to be made for anything over an hour prior to delivery. Buyer is expected to make a non-refundable deposit of $100 using Paypal. This is just to let me know you are serious about picking it up. I can hold the car for 1 week extra. If I need to hold it past a week then I will require full payment otherwise it will be re-listed.

DETROIT — Honda is recalling nearly 250,000 vehicles in the U.S. because bearings can fail, causing the engines to stall and increasing the risk of a crash. The recall covers certain 2018 and 2019 Honda Pilot SUVs and Odyssey minivans and some 2017 and 2019 Ridgeline pickup trucks. Also affected are certain 2015 to 2020 Acura TLX cars and some 2016 to 2020 Acura MDX SUVs. Honda says in documents posted Friday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that connecting rod bearings in the engine can wear and seize due to a manufacturing error, damaging the engines. The engines could run improperly or stall while being driven, increasing the risk of a fire, crash or injury. The automaker says in documents that it has 1,450 warranty claims due to the problem but no reports of injuries. Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the engines if needed. Owners will be notified by mail starting Jan. 2. Recalls Acura Honda

Honda has announced a good-sized recall of two popular Japanese-market hybrids: the Fit Hybrid and the Vezel Hybrid are both headed back into the garage. The problem this time around lies in the software program that controls the 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) that could "cause a delay in the ability to begin driving or the inability to move at all." In total, 81,353 units are affected (70,929 Fit Hybrids and 10,424 Vezel Hybrids) and all were made in Japan between July 2013 and February 2014. There were two previous recalls for the new Fit Hybrid's DCT, and you can find the details of them below. Jessica Fini, assistant manager of PR for Honda North America, told AutoblogGreen that this recall will not have any impact on US Honda vehicles. For one thing, the US Fit has a continuously variable transmission (CVT) instead of a DCT, so the upcoming launch of the new Fit here (the US doesn't get the Fit Hybrid) will not be delayed. Honda's upcoming small SUV in the US (based on the Vezel, but will arrive with a different name) isn't going to launch here until the end of the year, so there is time to fix any problems before launch. She also said that the Acura RLX, despite being a DCT, does not use the same transmission as the Fit Hybrid does, since the Fit transmission is specific to the one-motor hybrid system and the RLX uses three electric motors. Recall of All-New Fit Hybrid and Vezel Hybrid ref. # C14-009 TOKYO -- February 10, 2014 – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a voluntary recall of the all-new Fit Hybrid and Vezel Hybrid produced in Japan from July 2013 through February 2014 due to a problem with the software program controlling the 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) which could cause a delay in the ability to begin driving or the inability to move at all. Honda today notified the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of the recall with a total recall population of 81,353 units. Honda conducted two recalls in October and December 2013 due to a defect with the software program controlling the 7-speed DCT which could have caused a delay in the ability to drive the vehicle or the inability to drive. This will be the third recall related to the defect of the 7-speed DCT.

Listeners of the Autoblog Podcast will be familiar with my opinions on the Acura NSX. While I love the idea of Acura building a halo car again, I've routinely joked on-air that the car will never, ever reach production and will continue being teased and previewed ad nauseam. So I'm chuckling at this news: the NSX is being delayed again. To be fair, while it sounds like a big deal – pushing the NSX back from model year 2016 to 2017 – this is a fairly minor delay in the grand scheme. Instead of starting production this fall, as previously announced, the new supercar will start rolling down the line at Honda's Marysville, OH factory in the spring. "Trial production" has already started, Honda says, while briefly acknowledging the delay in the attached press release. While Honda offered no reason for the delay in volume production, Automobile claims it's the fault of the move to fit two turbochargers to the V6, which was made midway through development. Fitting the two iron lungs meant rearranging the six-pot into a longitudinal layout. Here's hoping there are no further delays. Scroll on for a look at Honda's press release, which does its best to gloss over the NSX delay while talking about the company's new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville. Related Video: Performance Manufacturing Center: Precision Craftsmanship Aug 14, 2015 - CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. The next-generation Acura NSX is produced at the new, dedicated Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio, using domestic and globally sourced parts. With trial production already underway and production start-up scheduled for spring 2016, this world-class manufacturing facility employs groundbreaking techniques in weld, body construction, body painting, final assembly and quality confirmation to ensure the highest levels of precision and craftsmanship. More details on the unique and innovative manufacturing processes at the PMC will be rolled out over the months leading up to the start of production, but the following highlights of the new facility were shared during the 2015 Monterey Automotive Week: Innovative blend of people and technology: throughout the PMC, NSX production is centered around the skills of approximately 100 experienced engineers and technicians building the NSX to precise levels of quality and craftsmanship.
