IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK ENTRIES YOU MUST E:MAIL ME PRIOR TO BID OR I WILL DELETE BID AND BLOCK PARTICIPATION. I RESERVE RIGHT TO CANCEL BIDS AND BLOCK  ANYONE I DEEM TO HAVE POOR OR DECEPTIVE FEEDBACK HISTORY.

THIS AUCTION IS FOR A LIGHTLY WRECKED 1985 HONDA CRX HATCH BACK, HF OR HIGH FUEL MODEL. VERY RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER WITH LOW MILEAGE, 78790. I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS EXCEPT IT WAS THE HF MODEL (WHICH SUPPOSEDLY, CAN GET UP TO 50 MPG) WITH 5 SPEED AND AC. HOWEVER, AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS OF WORKING ON IT (INCLUDING A REBUILD OF THE ORGINAL CARB AT THE CARB EXCHANGE-THEY ARE ON EBAY AND SPECIALIZE IN IMPORT CARBS-SEE RECEIPT LAST PIC), I'VE BECOME FRUSTRATED AND AM  READY TO GIVE UP.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST DECEMBER, IT HAS A CLEAR NON SALVAGE ARKANSAS TITLE IN MY NAME. WHEN I BOUGHT IT, IT WOULD START WITH DIFFICULTY AND WOULD NOT IDLE FOR CRAP, CARB WOULD STAY REVVED. I DRAINED THE GAS TANK, BLEW THE LINES WITH COMPRESSED AIR AND REFILLED THE TANK WITH FRESH FUEL. I ALSO INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP, NEW DIST CAP, NEW NGK PLUGS, PLUG WIRES AND AIR FILTER. IT DID NOT MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE FOR THE IDLING. I REMOVED THE CARB (WHICH TOOK ME ABOUT 4 HOURS WITH ALL THE FREAKIN VACUUM LINES). I SENT IT OFF FOR REBUILD ON 4/2014. I REINSTALLED IT TWO WEEKS AGO, PRETTY SURE I HAVE ALL THE VACUMM LINES CORRECT AS I TOOK PICS BEFORE REMOVAL AND LABELED THEM ALL WITH TAPE. USED THE FACTORY CARB PLASTIC SPACER PLATE WHICH IS IN GOOD SHAPE. IT STARTS MUCH EASIER NOW, BUT IT STILL IDLES HIGH. SOMETIMES IT WILL IDLE AROUND 1200 RPM AT START, THEN WILL SOMETIMES  GO UP TO 2000 RPM, AND WHEN I HIT THE KICKDOWN, IT WILL SOMETIME GO UP EVEN HIGHER, UP TO 3K RPM. I'VE GOTTEN PRETTY SICK OF MESSING WITH IT. I THOUGHT I MIGHT HAVE THE THROTTLE LINKAGES MALADJUSTED (AS I LOOSENED THEM) BUT REALLY, I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S THE CAUSE. THE CARB EXCHANGE PRE TEST/RUN THESE CARBS ON ACTUAL ENGINES BEFORE THEY SHIP THEM, AND SO, THE IDLE IS PRE SET. I'M NOT GOING TO MONKEY AROUND WITH THE IDLE SCREWS AS I DON'T BELIEVE THAT'S THE PROBLEM, BUT I DON'T KNOW THE CAUSE. ENGINE SOUNDS FINE, NO KNOCKS OR NOISE. THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT COMMUTER CAR WITH THE MILEAGE THESE THINGS ARE CAPABLE OF. SPEEDOMETER, TACH, WIPERS, WIPER SPRITZER, FAN, TURN SIGNALS, EMERGENCY LIGHTS ALL WORK, RADIO IN OP, I HAVE NOT CHECKED FUSEBOX.

ANYWAY, I CAN ONLY RUN IT FOR A COUPLE MINUTES AS THE RADIATOR IS MISSING. I WAS GOING TO BUY A NEW ONE AT AUTOZONE ($113.00 DOLLARS) AND SEE IF THE IDLE WOULD COME DOWN AFTER IT RAN A BIT MORE, BUT I THINK I'M DONE WITH THE BEAST.

AS FOR THE MECHANICALS, I HAVE ONLY RUN IT DOWN THE STREET TO MAKE SURE IT GOES THROUGH ALL GEARS AND REVERSE. IT SHIFTS SMOOTHLY AND EASILY, NO WEIRD NOISES AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WOBBLE OR SHIMMY. HOWEVER, UNDERSTAND, YOU ARE BUYING A VEHICLE THAT I HAVE NOT RUN FOR MORE THAN 5-6 MINUTES TOTAL OR DRIVEN MORE THAN A 1/2 MILE (BECAUSE OF THE MISSING RADIATOR).

THE CORE SUPPORT WILL PROBABLY NEED A LITTLE TWEAKING TO MAKE EVERYTHING LINE UP, IT OBVIOUSLY NEEDS A NEW FRONT CAP, BUT THE DAMAGE DID NOT APPEAR TO AFFECT ANYTHING STRUCTURAL IN NATURE (AND I'VE BEEN AROUND, OVER AND UNDER IT, AND AS STATED, NO ISSUES NOTED DURING BRIEF TEST DRIVE). THERE ARE NUMEROUS, SMALL THINGS/FLAWS NEEDED ON THIS VEHICLE. HOOD IS CRINKED UNDERNEATH ON DRIVER SIDE EDGE. DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE COLLISION DAMAGE AS EDGES ARE FINE. I THINK HOOD WAS CLOSED ON TOP OF THE PROP ROD AND GOT BENT. I WAS PLANNING TO JUST HAVE A WELDING SHOP WELD A SMALL 1/8 THICK REINFORCEMENT PLATE TO IT. REAR RIGHT TAIL LIGHT IS CRACKED, BOTH BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON CONSTANLY, THE TRUNK LID HAS SOME SMALL HOLES ON TOP WHERE THE REAR SPOILER WAS, THE DOOR PANELS HAVE SOME CRACKS AND MISSING PIECES. ALL GLASS IS GOOD, THE AC LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE BUTTON IS PRESSED, I CANNOT TELL IF THE COMPRESSOR COMES ON. RADIATOR AND CONDENSOR ARE GONE. THERE IS SOME KIND OF FUNKY BLACK ROLL OUT COVER THAT YOU CAN EXTEND IN THE BACK HATCH. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S FACTORY OR NOT. THE GAS DOOR AND HATCH PULL RELEASES ON FLOOR BOTH WORK. THE EXTERIOR LOWER PLASTIC SKIRTING PIECES HAVE CRACKS AND MISSING PIECES. BOTH PLASTIC FRONT FENDERS ARE CRACKED AND MISSING SOME PIECES ON EDGES. I DO HAVE THE CORNER MARKER LIGHTS WITH CONNECTORS. TIRES ARE CRACKED, THE BRAKES WORK BUT ARE WEAK, THEY PROBABLY NEED REBUILD. HOOD RELEASE LATCH IS PRESENT BUT NOT BOLTED INTO CORE SUPPORT. FLOOR PANS ARE SOLID (SEE PIC), LOOKS TO BE ORIGINAL CARPET, SEATS ETC, NO RUST THROUGH I HAVE DETECTED. THERE IS SOME KIND OF FITTING ON THE PASSENGER INNER SIDE FLOORBOARD. I HAVEN'T A CLUE WHAT IT'S FOR, THOUGHT MAYBE SOMEONE TRIED TO RUN IT ON LNG AT SOME POINT BUT I REALLY DON'T KNOW. THE BATTERY IS NOT INCLUDED. I DIDN'T BUY THE CAR WITH ONE AND THE BATTERY I'M USING IS FOR MY CAR HAULER. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, I'M NOT A HONDA OR CRX EXPERT (OBVIOUSLY). IT LOOKS TO BE ALL ORIGINAL PAINT, AND I DON'T BELIEVE IT'S EVER BEEN HOT RODDED OR MODIFIED BY THE 'KID' CROWD, AS SO MANY OF THESE THINGS ARE. YOU CAN SEE THE FACTORY VIN STICKERS/PLATES ON THE CORE SUPPORT AND DOOR FRAME ARE IN PLACE. I HAVE PURCHASED SOME PARTS FOR THIS, INCLUDING A FACTORY HOOD (IF THE PROPOSED WELDING JOB DIDN'T WORK) AND PLASTIC DOOR PANELS (UNCRACKED). WINNING BIDDER CAN HAVE THEM FOR $150.00 TOTAL IF DESIRED, OR I'LL JUST LIST THEM AFTER CAR SELLS.

I BELIEVE THIS CAR, WITH THIS MILEAGE, AND BEING A HF MODEL, COULD BRING 5-7K RESTORED. I ALSO BELIEVE IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 1-2 GRAND IN PARTS/PIECES TO GET IT THERE, IF YOU CAN DO THE LABOR YOURSELF. VEHICLE MUST BE PAID FOR WITHIN 7 DAYS AUCTION END, NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $200.00 DUE WITHIN 72 HOURS AUCTION END, BUT I CAN KEEP THE THING IN MY GARAGE WHERE IT CURRENTLY RESIDES FOR A MONTH IF NEEDED. I LIVE ON A CUL DE SAC AND A LARGE CAR HAULER CAN NOT, MAKE THE TURN AROUND AT MY HOUSE. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO HIRE A CONTRACT SHIPPER, MAKE SURE YOU/THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS AS I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOADING OR HELPING TO LOAD A CONTRACT SHIPPER. I WILL POINT TO THE CAR AND SAY, 'THERE IT IS'. (I HAVE NO ISSUE HELPING A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL LOAD, BUT I'VE HAD SOME BAD EXPERIENCES WITH PAID BID/BOARD JACKA** CONTACT SHIPPERS.

Carmakers ask Trump to revisit fuel efficiency rules

Mon, Feb 13 2017

Car companies operating in the US are required to meet stringent fuel efficiency standards (a fleet average of 54.5MPG) through 2025, but they're hoping to loosen things now that President Trump is in town. Leaders from Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and VW have sent a letter to Trump asking him to rethink the Obama administration's choice to lock in efficiency guidelines for the next several years. The car makers want to revisit the midterm review for the 2025 commitment in hopes of loosening the demands. They claim that the tougher requirements raise costs, don't match public buying habits and will supposedly put "as many a million" jobs up in the air. The Trump administration hasn't specifically responded to the letter, although Environmental Protection Agency nominee Scott Pruitt had said he would return to the Obama-era decision. The automakers' argument doesn't entirely hold up. While the EPA did estimate that the US would fall short of efficiency goals due to a shift toward SUVs and trucks, the job claims are questionable. Why would making more fuel efficient vehicles necessarily cost jobs instead of pushing companies to do better? As it is, even a successful attempt to loosen guidelines may only have a limited effect. All of the brands mentioned here are pushing for greater mainstream adoption of electric vehicles within the next few years -- they may meet the Obama administration's expectations just by shifting more drivers away from gas power. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing to switch to Honda engines starting in 2019

Tue, Jun 19 2018

After a 12-season partnership with Renault, the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team is switching engine suppliers. Starting next season, the team will use Honda powertrains, following the move this year of Red Bull's junior team, Toro Rosso. This effectively makes Red Bull Racing the Honda works team, something it's never truly benefited from since joining the sport in 2005 after purchasing the former Jaguar Racing team. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Honda has had a rough time since returning to F1 with McLaren back in 2015. Both sides hoped that the move would rekindle one of the most successful pairings in F1 history. Unfortunately, Honda powertrains were both underpowered and unreliable. The partnership proved to be so toxic that McLaren ended the deal early, moving to Renault power starting this season. On the other hand, Toro Rosso is off to a fine start this year with Honda, surely helping cement Red Bull's decision to drop Renault. Since moving to Renault power in 2007, Red Bull Racing has won 57 races, four drivers' championships and four constructors championships, making it one of the most successful teams in F1 history. The move should be a huge boon for Honda. Red Bull Racing is currently one of the top teams, fighting for both podiums and wins, so the move shows how much faith Red Bull has in the Japanese automaker. When McLaren picked up Honda power, it was a mid-pack team that had just two podiums in the previous two seasons. The Honda partnership is likely to play into Daniel Ricciardo's next move. His current contract with Red Bull racing ends at the end of 2018. He's one of the best and most talented drivers racing today and unlikely to stay with a team that might prevent him from winning races and fighting for championships.
