INTERIOR:  NICE, NEAT, AND CLEAN!  THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THEIR CARS.  THE DASHBOARD, DOORPANELS, AND CONSOLE ARE ALL FREE OF CRACKS OR FADING.  THEY LOOK VERY GOOD.  THIS CRV COMES EQUIPPED WITH FULL FACTORY FLOOR MATS THAT HAVE BEEN IN PLACE SINCE DAY 1.  THE SEATS ARE FREE OF RIPS, TEARS, OR BURNS.  THIS HAS BEEN A NON-SMOKER TRUCK IT’S WHOLE LIFE!  THE INTERIOR CARGO AREA HAS SOME NORMAL MINOR SURFACE SCRATCHES FROM PARCELS … EASILY HID WITH ARMORALL IF YOU DESIRE.  IT IS A RURAL ROUTE VEHICLE AND DOES CARRY MAIL AND PARCELS.

 

DRIVELINE AND MECHANICAL:  THE HONDA 2.4 V-TEC HAS EARNED A REPUTATION OF DEPENDABILITY AND RELIABILITY,   BEING CALLED “BULLET-PROOF” BY MANY, LASTING SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES!  IF YOU HAVEN’T HAD ONE YOURSELF, DO SOME RESEARCH AND LEARN THAT THESE ENGINES ARE PRAISED BY THEIR OWNERS AND SOUGHT AFTER BY THE ‘PERFORMANCE’ CROWD.  124,000 MILE IS NOTHING FOR THE V-TEC ENGINE WHEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR.  THIS CRV RUNS, SOUNDS AND DRIVES VERY WELL.  THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER HAS BEEN CHANGED EVERY 3000-3500 MILES.  THE BRAKES ARE NEW, NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER, NEWLY INSTALLED TRANSMISSION IN LATE 2013, NEW VALVE COVER GASKET, BALL JOINTS, TIE ROD ENDS, AND 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT.  THIS CRV DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS, THE OIL PRESSURE IS GREAT, AND THE TEMPERATURE STAYS LOW AND STEADY ALL DAY LONG.  FLY IN AND DRIVE THIS ONE BACK HOME, WHEREVER THAT MAY BE.  AND WHEN YOU GET DONE ON YOUR ROUTE ... DRIVE IT HOME OR TO THE STORE ON THE LEFT SIDE IF YOU WANT TO!!!

Honda is spending $124 million on a new wind tunnel facility in Ohio

Ford isn't the only company building a multi-million dollar wind tunnel this year. Honda is also getting in on the action. Its new facility will cost less than Ford's at $124 million, and construction begins this summer. It will be built at the Transportation Research Center in Ohio, which is where Honda's NSX proving grounds are located. Honda will install a five-belt rolling road in the tunnel for testing of more pedestrian vehicles, and a wide, high-speed, single belt version for testing of sports cars and race cars. However, it seems the Honda facility will only be capable of testing wind speeds of up to 192 mph, whereas Ford claims a top speed of 200 mph. Cameras and microphones will also be set up inside the testing area at the Honda tunnel to help find wind noise trouble spots. Honda won't necessarily be the only company using the new wind tunnel either. The facility will be available for other groups and companies to use. It's always fun to cruise different global eBay Motors sites and check out the cars that we never got here. Thankfully, America's 25-year import limit on cars means that some of the rarities from the 80s are finally legal on these shores. This 1985 Honda City Turbo II is a great example of a fun, little car that we never got new but can be made legal here now.
The City was basically the Japanese company's '80s equivalent of today's Fit, albeit significantly smaller. The little urban runabout was so popular in its basic form that Honda decided to take things up a notch and turbocharge it. That car sold enough to warrant an even higher performance version called the Turbo II, which added an intercooler and the flared fenders you see here. The latter helped it earn the nickname "bulldog" for its boxy, aggressive appearance.
Honda claimed at the time that its little 1.2-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder produced 109 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque with a five-speed manual. In a car that weight just 1,620 pounds, you can imagine it was a very entertaining little package.

I have two Hondas in my modest garage. One is a 1972 CB450 that I cherish but rarely ride, the other a 2014 HRR216 mower that my neighbors probably wish I'd use more often. Not quite dream garage material, but I like my trusty Hondas all the same. So I was pretty geeked to visit what Honda calls its Dream Garage. Spoiler alert: There was no actual garage. The various Honda products were spread out over a few acres of private land. And before you ask, no, the HondaJet wasn't in attendance. No confining garage meant I got to try a bunch of this stuff out. Honda makes such a wide variety of products, and so many of them, that it is the number one maker of engines in the world, having built 28 million in 2014. Highlights included a smattering of motorcycles, some rugged side-by-sides, the Uni-Cub assistive mobility device/powered stool, a few boats, Honda's latest cars, and snowblowers. Yep, in Southern California in July. They used damp sawdust for demonstrations, which meant I got to run a giant snowblower in a t-shirt. Watch the video above to see me ride, drive, walk behind, and be assisted by some of Honda's latest gear that isn't a car. Some of my favorites: The Grom. I've wanted to ride one since it came out a couple years back. This miniature motorcycle is hilarious and surprisingly rideable given its 125-cc single, which puts out about eight horsepower. It'll do 45 mph pretty easily, which feels fast on this baby bike. The only thing that takes getting used to is the time required to glance down at the instruments – they're way down there. Otherwise, it's a normal motorcycle with tiny wheels and a tinier engine. Riding the Uni-Cub was another dream experience of mine. It's much more intuitive than a Segway and makes you look slightly less goofy. I felt like I was in an OK Go video. It was neat. One item that didn't make the video is the NM4 you see here: crazy anime-inspired styling, a dual-clutch transmission, and then more crazy styling. The DCT means your left hand and foot get a rest. I still grabbed for the clutch every time I started the bike, though. Old habits and their hard deaths. Honda is also putting a dual-clutch transmission into one of its newest side-by-side offerings, but it was only on display and not available to pilot. I drove one with a traditional auto and another with an automated manual – and paddle shifters!
