I WILL LIST THE CONDITION OF THIS 'ARCTIC WHITE', 1 CARRIER OWNED CRV INTO (4) CATAGORIES: EXTERIOR, INTERIOR, DRIVELINE, AND HISTORY … TO EXPLAIN IN DETAIL AND ANSWER AS MANY QUESTIONS AS POSSIBLE BEFOREHAND, SO HERE GOES … EXTERIOR: HONDA CALLS IT 'ARCTIC WHITE' AND IT IS ‘BRIGHT’ WHICH ADDS SAFETY AND VISIBILITY TO YOUR PRESENCE ON THE ROUTE. MATCHES POSTAL VEHICLE COLORS TOO. AS THE PICTURES SHOW, THIS ONE IS IN EXTREEMLY NICE CONDITION, IT IS “SWEET”, AND HAS AMAZING EYE APPEAL! IT LOOKS WAY YOUNGER THAN IT’S YEARS BECAUSE OF THE MATICULOUS CARE FROM THE OWNER (me). THERE ARE NO MAJOR DENTS, DINGS, OR BLEMISHES ON THE BODY WHATSOEVER. IT DOES HAVE A COUPLE OF STONE CHIPS THAT ARE EASILY FIXED WITH TOUCHUP. IT DOES HAVE A SHORT SURFACE CREASE (not deep) ON THE FENDER BEHIND THE RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT FROM A FROZEN SNOW DRIFT (hazard of the profession). THE RIGHT DRIVERS DOOR HAS VERY MINIMAL SCRATCHES FROM NORMAL MAIL DELIVERY, BUT ALWAYS PROTECTED BY A MAGNETIC SHEILD. WELL PROTECTED OVER THE YEARS BY OWNER. UNDERNEATH LOOKS GREAT, WITH NO RUST. THE BODY SIDE MOLDINGS AND BUMPERS LOOK GREAT AS WELL. THE (4) ALTIMAX ARCTIC STUDDED SNOW RADIALS ALL MATCH AND (2) HAVE 90% TREAD LEFT AND (2) 60% TREAD. THE (5) ALL-SEASON RADIALS RANGE FROM (2) NEW, TO (2) WITH 40% TREAD, AND (1) GOOD SPARE. THATS A TOTAL OF 10 WHEELS AND TIRES THAT GO WITH THIS CRV, ... TO GET YOU THROUGH ALL SEASONS!!! INTERIOR: NICE, NEAT, AND CLEAN! THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THEIR CARS. THE DASHBOARD, DOORPANELS, AND CONSOLE ARE ALL FREE OF CRACKS OR FADING. THEY LOOK VERY GOOD. THIS CRV COMES EQUIPPED WITH FULL FACTORY FLOOR MATS THAT HAVE BEEN IN PLACE SINCE DAY 1. THE SEATS ARE FREE OF RIPS, TEARS, OR BURNS. THIS HAS BEEN A NON-SMOKER TRUCK IT’S WHOLE LIFE! THE INTERIOR CARGO AREA HAS SOME NORMAL MINOR SURFACE SCRATCHES FROM PARCELS … EASILY HID WITH ARMORALL IF YOU DESIRE. IT IS A RURAL ROUTE VEHICLE AND DOES CARRY MAIL AND PARCELS. DRIVELINE AND MECHANICAL: THE HONDA 2.4 V-TEC HAS EARNED A REPUTATION OF DEPENDABILITY AND RELIABILITY, BEING CALLED “BULLET-PROOF” BY MANY, LASTING SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES! IF YOU HAVEN’T HAD ONE YOURSELF, DO SOME RESEARCH AND LEARN THAT THESE ENGINES ARE PRAISED BY THEIR OWNERS AND SOUGHT AFTER BY THE ‘PERFORMANCE’ CROWD. 124,000 MILE IS NOTHING FOR THE V-TEC ENGINE WHEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR. THIS CRV RUNS, SOUNDS AND DRIVES VERY WELL. THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER HAS BEEN CHANGED EVERY 3000-3500 MILES. THE BRAKES ARE NEW, NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER, NEWLY INSTALLED TRANSMISSION IN LATE 2013, NEW VALVE COVER GASKET, BALL JOINTS, TIE ROD ENDS, AND 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THIS CRV DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS, THE OIL PRESSURE IS GREAT, AND THE TEMPERATURE STAYS LOW AND STEADY ALL DAY LONG. FLY IN AND DRIVE THIS ONE BACK HOME, WHEREVER THAT MAY BE. AND WHEN YOU GET DONE ON YOUR ROUTE ... DRIVE IT HOME OR TO THE STORE ON THE LEFT SIDE IF YOU WANT TO!!! HISTORY: THIS IS A 1 CARRIER OWNED CRV THAT I PERSONALLY PURCHASED WITH 15,000 ORIGINAL BABIED MILES ON IT. I HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK AS MY PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION (FROM EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE AS NEEDED) AND AS A RURAL ROUTE DELIVERY VEHICLE SINCE LATE 2006, SO IT HAS HAD TO BE KEPT RELIABLE. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE PROFESSIONALLY MAINTAINED BY BOTH HONDA DEALERSHIPS AND A LOCAL REPUTABLE MECHANIC AS NEEDED. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING … BID OFTEN … BID TO WIN!!

2017 Honda Civic Type R mule sports sweet exhaust
Fri, Sep 4 2015The 2016 Honda Civic might be one the most-spied cars in recent memory, but the wait to actually see the new model is just a few days away on Sept. 16. That big reveal is only for the sedan, but these fresh shots show a sporty variant of the five-door that our spies speculate could preview bits of the next-gen Civic Type R. These photos seem to show the same variant recently spotted in Spain, but there are some notable differences and better angles here. Up front, the styling still shows the same Acura-like design as the patent drawings, but these images make it much easier to spot the narrow mesh in the grilles of the lower air dam. The major change along the side is the new set of big, black wheels with low-profile tires, and this setup fits the style much better than the earlier car. Plus, you can easily spot larger front brake discs and a Brembo logo on the caliper this time. Thankfully, these photos provide a much better look at the earlier example's weird, center-mounted exhaust layout, too. It appears that the larger pipes on the outside each have their own muffler, but there doesn't appear to be one for the smaller outlet in the middle. There's still the possibility this could be a way of testing the single-exit design from the 2016 Civic concept. We know the next-gen Civic will be offered as a sedan, coupe, and five-door. Plus, Si and Type R trims will eventually join the lineup. At the current rate of spy shots, we'll see them all well before their respective reveals. Related Video:
Nine cars we wish were convertibles
Thu, Apr 16 2015The snow has melted, the sun is shining, and the days are getting longer. At the Autoblog Detroit office we feel like our winter hibernation is finally over. And with warmer temperatures come visions of opening up a convertible roof and cruising. You know, just turn up the bass and let the Alpine blast. There are plenty of droptops on sale in the US, and more on the way (like the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata). That said, we always want more. More! More! More! In that spirit, we cooked up a list of nine cars aren't currently sold as convertible, but ought to be. Check out our picks, below. Summer's just around the corner. Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S In some parallel universe, this car actually happened. Toyota showed us a FT 86 Convertible concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, and we immediately started licking our chops over the thought of a rear-wheel-drive convertible based on the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S twins. These days, the MX-5 Miata is our only option for affordable roadster fun. A competitor to the Mazda seems like a no-brainer to us, especially since we have naught but good to say about the BRZ/FR-S as-is. Unfortunately in our present timeline, this car is as likely for production as a BRZ STI. Which is to say, not very. Dang. Lexus RC F Unlike the FR-S, a convertible from Toyota's luxury division might actually see the light of day. The current IS convertible is about to be phased out, and the Lexus LF-C2 concept from the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is really a thinly veiled look at a possible RC convertible. A droptop RC would be plenty good, but let's reach for the starts. What we really want is to run topless in an RC F, complete with that powerful, loud, 5.0-liter V8 engine. Lexus says the RC F is a true competitor to the BMW M4. If that's true, it only makes sense for Lexus to mimic the Germans and offer its performance coupe in a folding hardtop form. Maybach Landaulet Maybach is bach back, recast as an upper crust trim level for Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is seriously awesome, and more luxurious than a trip to the spa. But why not go a step into the truly ridiculous levels of extravagence and bring back that open-top Landaulet? We think your local princess will love this idea, and with better S-Class bones underneath, Jeeves will have a pretty enjoyable ship to steer, too. Besides, with that slick new Mercedes design language, a Landaulet redux wouldn't be nearly as hideous as the old model, pictured here.
2016 Honda HR-V: The first three months with our jack of all trades
Tue, Jan 5 2016We only had the long-term 2016 Honda HR-V in our fleet for one week, and for me, the do-anything crossover was immediately useful. Its honeymoon phase coincided with a number of long-haul drives, plus I had to move. This ambitious start is why we're a quarter of the way through our long-term test, and the HR-V already has over 6,000 miles on the odometer. In classic suburban chariot style, the HR-V is a jack of all trades. And when it comes to road trips, the HR-V is just as enjoyable while slogging up flat interstates as it is along beautiful country roads. I've driven it in all types of weather, packed it with people, and filled it with cargo. I've spent more time in our long-term Honda than pretty much any car that came before it. Here's what I've learned. Long Hauls I've driven the HR-V from my home in Detroit to my sister's place in Traverse City, MI – a 500-mile round trip – four times. On one occasion, an early winter blast hit northern Michigan on my way to the cute, beachside tourist town. From intense fog and rain to sunshine to a sudden snow squall, I had every one of the elements thrown directly at me over the course of one drive. I find a lot of the HR-V's onboard safety technology distracting, and I worry that drivers can become too reliant on these features. Blind spot alerts and cameras are designed to make us safer, yes, but they're no replacement for an attentive, engaged driver. For instance, in the rain and sleet, the nifty Honda Lane Watch camera displayed only gray blobs. Ditto on the back-up camera, meaning that while the technology technically functioned as advertised, the weather rendered it useless. The HR-V has a solid suite of safety tech, but you don't have to rely on the cameras and bells and whistles. The driver's side mirror has an extended-view distortion to the glass. Visibility is great. The HR-V was a champ in the gross weather, and I was thankful for our mid-level EX trim's all-wheel drive. And this was even before we fitted the HR-V with a set of Michelin X-Ice 215/55R17 winter tires – expect to hear about those when we actually get some more snow here in Detroit. Optioning all-wheel drive means you're stuck with the continuously variable transmission (a manual is available with front-drive), which isn't great, but it smoothly delivers the engine's 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. Editor Alex Kierstein agreed, writing in our logbook, "Overall, I think the CVT isn't great ...
