For Sale 1997Honda Civic EX Coupe
I have owned the vehicle for 1 year and it is in good condition for the year. It has a few minor dents: on the drivers side fender, hood, front bumper, and trunk. Mechanical problems: it needs struts that I have seen all four available on EBay for $100, no catalytic converter also available on EBay for $49.99 & up depending on the kind you choose to purchase, and the mileage hasn't moved since I purchased it. I just took it in for the emissions test and it passed and I have the supporting documentation. It runs well, doesn't smoke, and the transmission is good. While I owned the vehicle I made some modifications including new paint, new rims, new tires with approximately 85% life left, it has HID lights, and a Pioneer graphic radio was installed with IPod adapter. I selling it because I need a bigger vehicles. The motor is 1.6L very good gas economy. Please contact me at 773-440-2054 via text with any questions or to request more pictures of the car. If you would like to view the vehicle in person prior to bidding, please contact me to schedule an appointment. Final sale is As Is. Happy bidding and may my loss be your gain. |

Toyota, Honda, Nissan and more collaborating to increase fuel efficiency
Sun, 25 May 2014Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Daihatsu have announced an alliance that will see a push to improve fuel economy from both gas-powered and diesel-powered engines by as much as 30 percent before the end of the decade.
The newly assembled Research Association of Automotive Internal Combustion Engines put the roughly $20-million project together, with the Japanese government committing to half the cost while the eight manufacturers will chip in the rest.
According to Automotive News, the automakers will team up and share basic research on internal-combustion engines in a bid to cut costs. Eventually, the results of the research will find its way into a production vehicle, although it's unclear just when we'll see the fruits of this partnership on the road.
Leno checks out '64 Honda S600 hot rod
Wed, May 27 2015Among the hundreds of cars and motorcycles Jay Leno has in his own enviable collection, he's got a classic 1964 Honda S600. It's a cherry example that he's been restoring and it was recently featured in an episode of his popular video series. But this new video shows a different take on the little beast altogether. Rather than go for preservation, this vintage Japanese roadster has undergone the full hot-rod treatment. Or more like a rat rod, we should say, given its heavily patinated appearance. But don't let looks deceive you: this weathered little roadster is packing quite a punch, from the worked-over mechanical bits and motorcycle components to the nitrous tank in the trunk. Turn up the speakers to hear it shriek and check it out in the video above.
Takata airbag recalls add another 5 million vehicles
Fri, May 15 2015The Takata airbag inflator recall expanded by about 6.5 million vehicles recently when Toyota and Nissan announced global expansions to replace the faulty parts. You can add another 5 million more as Honda and Daihatsu also broaden their replacement campaigns. Although in this latest case, none of the affected models are in the United States or Canada. Honda is recalling 4.89 million more vehicles globally, and Daihatsu has about 260,000 to repair in Japan, according to Automotive News. With these latest expansions, all of the affected automakers have needed to fix about 36 million vehicles globally for these faulty airbags since 2008. Some of the first instances of these problems were found in an Isuzu campaign in 2001. This latest round of recalls was sparked by a study from Takata that found the inflators' propellant could be affected by moisture over time. While the automakers received this information in March, it took time to determine the number of vehicles in need of repair and where they were located, according to Automotive News. To make sure all of the affected vehicles in the US are repaired in a timely fashion, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reportedly considering a strategy to force things to speed up. Honda and Toyota are already using outside suppliers for the parts they need.
