Selling a 2008 Honda Civic Si. This car belonged to my sister. She bought a new car, so this one has to go.
The car is 2 door, with 6 speed manual transmission. Other than standard equipment that comes on the Civic Si, this one has a 2009+ style front bumper/grille/fog lights. This car has a few modifications done to it. It has the following:
BC Stage 2 cams
BC valvetrain (high rev valve springs and titanium retainers)
Toda timing chain tensioner
RDX injectors
Hondata Flashpro (tuned)
Vibrant catted header
Ultimate Racing 3" cat back exhaust
Modified STi intake (short ram)
Real JDM Honda Civic Type R titanium shift knob
Windows tinted all the way around, 20 or 25%.
The sale will also include a set of BC valves and a PLM 4-2-1 header; both new in package. The car has a brand new Exedy stock replacement clutch. With the sale, a low mileage, used Competition Stage 4 clutch will be included. It was in the car, but a bit aggressive for daily driving, so it was taken out.
This car carries a clear NJ title with S designator. We bought the car a few years back. It was lightly hit in the front; mostly cosmetic damage. Radiator and AC condenser, as well as front sheetmetal, were replaced. We also had some dings on the side repaired recently. Since inspection, we have had this car on the road since 2011. At the time, it had 47k miles. It has 70k+ now. Can title/register in all 50 states like any other car. NJ inspection sticker (new car) is good till 9/2013.
A few small issues with the car. The airbag and passenger airbag off lights are on. My mechanic had his computer on the car, and says the occupant sensor in the passenger seat is no good. I bought one off eBay for $35, but can't find it. If it comes up, it will be included in the sale. If not, you'll have to spend around $35 for one. TPMS light is also on (tire pressure), but I believe it's because the front tires were a bit low. Front tires are bald, but will be replaced before the sale. I believe one front rim has a small bend, but small enough that it does not make the steering wheel shake or anything. The front portion of the exhaust pipe or rear portion of header sometimes hits the body or heat shield on the car, but I believe it's due to the stock rubber exhaust hangers. If they are replaced with the longer, hard poly ones, it should take care of that.
Car drives good. Clutch is brand new (maybe 500 miles old, if that). Oil was recently changed. Drives straight as an arrow. I would trust driving this car cross country without a cell phone or AAA.
No reserve auction. Title in hand with no liens, ready to go! If you really want the car, don't let it get away. Buy it now is set at $13,500, well below book value. Looking for a quick sale, as the car is just taking up space.
This car is sold as-is, with no warranty, expressed or implied. I've described this car the best that I can. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me, If you need pictures of any specific part/parts, let me know and I'll do what I can to provide.
This auction is not limited to local buyers. I can help arrange for shipping, but all fees are to be paid by the buyer. Usually once the transport fees is agreed upon, a $150 deposit is paid to the transport company, and balance of transport is paid directly to them when the car is delivered. Contact me for details on that.
Thanks for looking. Happy Bidding!

Honda takes us through 50 years of automobiles in 60 seconds
Fri, 12 Jul 2013Honda's wonderfully simple, fun ads are not in short supply right now. We showed you Hands, the followup to 2003's The Cog, last week. If you haven't had a chance to look at those two great videos, we strongly encourage you to head over that way and give them a watch.
The latest minute-long commercial is a bit more dear, though. And while it may be in Japanese, it's still a cool look back at Honda and its car-building history.
This is also a great video if you're a fan of odd, vintage Japanese vehicles. Honda's T360 and a few old Civics are featured heavily, although we can't help but notice that a few very big names are missing. Where's the NSX or the S2000? How about the original Insight, a car so revolutionary it still has a cult following today? Honda has made some great cars, we just wish it'd show off more of them. Check out the video below.
2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI vs. sport compact sedans: How they compare on paper
Thu, Feb 28 2019Hot hatchbacks may be stealing the headlines, but they're not the only way to get cheap speed. There are actually a number of small sporty sedans on the market, too, in case you want that more formal roofline. The recently revealed 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI highlighted these vehicles, so we figured we'd take a look at the specifications and see how they compare to each other. Our contenders are the aforementioned VW, along with the 2019 Honda Civic Si, 2019 Subaru WRX and 2019 Hyundai Elantra Sport. All four start under $30,000 and offer more than 200 horsepower. And of course, they all have trunks. In our comparison, we'll look at each car's powertrain comparing horsepower and torque. We'll also look at practicalities such as interior space, fuel economy and pricing. You can see the raw numbers in the chart below, followed by additional analysis and links to reviews. If you'd like to compare any of these cars with a different group, be sure to check out our car comparison tool. Engines and drivetrains Performance, and particularly power, is likely a priority for a sporty sedan buyer, and there's a clear leader: the Subaru WRX. At 268 horsepower, it's 40 ponies ahead of the next most potent car, the 228-horsepower Jetta GLI. It also ties the GLI for torque at 258 pound-feet. Both cars also support the old adage that "there's no replacement for displacement," since each have 2.0-liter engines while the Hyundai has a 1.6-liter unit and the Honda engine only displaces 1.5 liters. The Hyundai and Honda are nearly tied for power and torque, too, at roughly 200 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. Another bonus for the Subaru is its standard all-wheel-drive system, which is handy for power delivery, lateral grip and for inclement weather. While the Jetta GLI and Civic Si are front-drive only, they do feature mechanical limited-slip differentials to enhance traction under power. The Elantra Sport makes do with electronic aids and an open differential. We're pleased that all four of these cars offer manual transmissions, too. But if you do want or need an automatic transmission, the VW, Subaru and Hyundai have you covered. The VW and Hyundai rely on seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions, and the Subaru uses a CVT with eight preset ratios for manual mode shifting. The Civic Si, though, is manual only (and it's an excellent manual at that).
Honda, Acura EVs will adopt Tesla's NACS charging port
Sat, Aug 19 2023CARMEL, Calif. — As more and more automakers pledge to install TeslaÂ’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports on their electric vehicles, Honda says that it, too, will hop on the bandwagon. Future EVs from Honda – as well as its luxury division, Acura – will have NACS charging setups, giving these cars access to TeslaÂ’s huge network of Supercharger stations. "It is quite important," American Honda Motor Co. President and CEO Noriya Kaihara said in an interview Friday. "We also have to push NACS, as well. It is clear." As for when this will happen, Honda is currently at the mercy of General Motors. The Japanese automakerÂ’s next two EVs – the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX – use shared architecture with GM, leveraging The GeneralÂ’s excellent Ultium battery technology. The ZDX will launch first, and have the traditional CCS port that isnÂ’t compatible with TeslaÂ’s chargers, but it will switch to the NACS design in 2025 or 2026. "We clearly depend on GM," Shinji Aoyama, Executive Vice President of Honda Motor Co., said during Friday's interview. "Once they [switch to NACS], this will follow for ZDX, as well." Looking to the future, Honda is part of a joint venture with seven other global automakers that will see the installation of more than 30,000 EV fast-charging stations across the United States and Canada. The chargers are still in development, but Honda says the companies are all aligned on the core values that are needed to make this charging network successful. "The software needs to be really reliable and really open infrastructure so it communicates with every OEM's software," Jay Joseph, American Honda's Vice President of Sustainability and Business Development, said in Friday's interview. "The hardware needs to be capable of the highest levels of charging. It needs to be secure, it needs to be reliable, it needs to be accessible." Joseph said the current public charging companies know and understand the shortcomings with their systems, and that TeslaÂ’s Superchargers set an example of how to do chargers right. "If you look at what's so great about the Tesla Supercharger network, it's the maintenance," Joseph said. "They stay on top of it, they've got someone onsite monitoring the equipment, they're monitoring it electronically and remotely, and they fix it – fast. That's probably the most important thing." All the more reason for Honda – and other automakers – to switch to the NACS charging setup as quickly as possible.
