1994 Honda Civic Vx - Cannot Smog In California on 2040-cars
Shingle Springs, California, United States
|
I am selling my Honda Civic VX because it will not pass CA smog testing due to a cracked
exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold is California-specific and is
unique to the VX and CX Civics which makes the part relatively rare, and
as a result I've been unable to find a replacement part; the
manufacturer has discontinued it, no aftermarket company offers it,
and I was unable to find any used replacements.
You may have better luck or more patience finding a good CA-specific manifold. Or, since there are many other Civic engines that would fit into the VX, you could swap in a different engine. The VX is very light (300lbs lighter than the Si HB) that with a different engine it would perform really well. Yet another option would be to take it out of state; the non-Cali parts (new and used) are much more abundant. The previous owner was the original owner and used it to commute ~100 miles per day on the freeway. The car still runs great; last timing belt change was at 300,000; last oil change was about 200 miles ago, and coolant was replaced about 100 miles ago. No leaks, no overheating, and negligible oil consumption (about 1/2 to 1 quart per oil change). The car is being sold as-is; this is your chance to get a legendary fuel miser (I averaged 50mpg during the time that I drove it) for little money and a little work. Thank you for bidding. Pros:

Honda Civic Tourer to debut at Frankfurt
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Honda will be bringing its new Civic Tourer to next month's Frankfurt Motor Show, just as we predicted in our spy shots of the new MPV from back in April. The new model, which will arrive in European dealers in 2014, will be built alongside Honda's Euro-spec Civic hatchback, Jazz (Honda Fit) and CR-V in Swindon, Wiltshire, UK.
Honda first hinted at the Civic Tourer with a concept at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, which is set to do battle with the Toyota Auris and Volkswagen Golf in the European market. The production Civic Tourer will also be shown alongside a refreshed Civic hatchback, yet another NSX Concept variant, a McLaren MP4/4 Formula One car, and Honda's World Touring Car Championship Civic.

Is Acura working on a premium minivan?
Mon, 10 Nov 2014Here's a vehicle that nobody saw coming. Unless Honda/Acura is keen to play tricks on us, our spy shooters recently caught what appears to be an Acura minivan fully camouflaged for testing on some back roads on a rainy day.
Details on the disguised minivan are rather scarce, but it certainly bares all the hallmarks of an Acura. The front grille alone gives it away with a look that mimics the latest MDX, and note that the orientation of the rear door handle heavily suggests that it slides to open. Moving inside, the tester appears to borrow some tech from the luxury brand's parts bin too, and the Acura logo seems to be covered in tape right in the middle of the steering wheel.
Mechanically, our spies believe that the production version of Acura's minivan might borrow the brand's V6, nine-speed automatic and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive - a similar layout to some trims of the TLX. The photographers also think that the vehicle is a little wider than the current Honda Odyssey to give occupants a bit more room. Given the more luxurious focus, the high-end model would surely carry seven people with a bit more opulence than the standard Odyssey, especially, we'd imagine, for second-row passengers. A launch for this posh hauler could be slated for the 2016 or 2017 model years.
