Up for sale or trade is my 92 Accord. This Accord was handed down to my friend after her Grandma passed away. The car lived in California and Idaho (no road salt in Idaho) up until a couple years ago when she moved here. I bought it from her with 99K miles last March as she was moving to China with her job and I needed a sedan since my wife and I were having our first baby in June. Both Carfax and Autocheck show 5 owners, but i know for a fact i am the 3rd owner, so i am assuming they counted moving to Idaho and then to Minnesota as 2 owners even though it was the same person!
As everyone knows, these CB7 accords with the F22 motors are probably the most reliable, dependable, and efficient transportation machines ever built. With just over 101K miles, this thing is just barely broken in, and with 32 MPG it's almost more expensive to walk! So if you want to hit Dick Cheney where it really hurts, his Swiss account, then buy this car and use less fuel.
Here is a list of the things that have been replaced since April 2012....these things were not broken, just replaced a preventative maintenance as i have had 3 other accords like this all of which reached 300K and i know what goes wrong as miles get higher. My wife drove it for about a month and did not like it and wants a CR-V instead.
-All new Honda OEM transmission cables...(they were not broken, but they are known to get stiff and make it hard to shift. So this was more preventative)
-Full Transmission flush with the new and improved Honda DW-1 transmission fluid instead of the old Z1. This was not a cheap flush that ruins transmissions, instead it was done according to Honda's recommendation, which was drain, refill, drive.....drain, refill, drive......drain, refill, drive..... final drain and refill. This takes a total of 12 quarts and at $12.85 a quart plus labor.......you do the math!
-Timing belts (both cam timing belt and balance shaft timing belt), idler, tensioner, and water pump replaced one thousand miles ago at 100K. (High quality Gates timing belt and components)
-New OEM cam seals.
-New OEM crankshaft seals.
-Full tune up including, spark plugs, OEM ignition wires, OEM distributor cap, OEM distributor rotor.
-New OEM valve cover gasket.
-New OEM Spark plug tube seals.
-New OEM Radiator.
-New OEM thermostat and a coolant flush.
-New alternator and power steering belts (High quality goodyear belts)
-New OEM oil pressure switch....was not broken but these are known to eventually leak so it is taken care of.
-New brakes all around.
-All weather strippings and rubber on the doors have been replaced because these are also known to go bad.
-New OEM main relay....was not bad but those usually burn out and cause intermittent no start issues so i beat it to the punch!
-AC system was converted to the new R134a....not even gonna go into how expensive this was!
There is virtually no rust what so ever on this accord, not even underneath! the paint is still very good and shines accept for 1 tiny scratch by the back light, and one by one of the door handles, both of which i have pictured. It has an alpine MP3 player, and Bose speakers. Everything works including all power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, power moon-roof, heat, and AC. With all the work done to this car, you can be sure that it will be ticking for thousands of miles and years to come! It's a bit dusty so it could use a wash!
This car is listed locally on craigslist #3604205409 and i can end this auction at anytime.
In the pictures the car has aftermarket wheels and tires on, those are not included. The car will come with the original Honda alloys and brand new all-season tires....The after market wheels are staggered with new ventus V12 tires, 225s in the front and 235s in the back and i am willing to sell those if you want them.
I am interested in trades for a CLEAN 1st gen Honda CR-V. I am only interested in 1999 to 2001 model years and it must be an EX or SE model and be AWD. I don't care if CRV has mechanical issues, even a non running CRV is fine as long as it is rust and accident free.
On Feb-11-13 at 18:49:34 PST, seller added the following information:
I have had a lot of emails asking if there is a "buy it now". So just to be fair to all bidders, i wanted to make sure everyone knows that the "buy it now" is the reserve, and i will end this auction early for whoever leaves a deposit and shows serious interest.

Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values
Tue, 18 Mar 2014We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.
One man's love of vintage Honda motorcycles spawns new museum
Mon, Jan 19 2015In 1977, David Silver got a Honda SS50 moped - it was the last year of unrestricted mopeds for riders just 16 years of age in the UK. That two-wheeler made him a fan, and starting his Honda parts business in 1986 made him a part of the Honda family. He started collecting, with the idea that he'd eventually open a museum. During a visit to another amateur collector's trove in Pennsylvania, the Brit got the chance to purchase the 125 bikes the American had gathered, and his museum aspirations hit the fast-forward button. He's in the process of building a proper home for the bikes in Suffolk, it should open later this year. There will be everything from the first Cub F engine that people could attach to bicycles in 1952, to two examples of the CB92 Benly Super Sport that showed how fast and how good a 125cc bike could be, to the first Fireblade that dropped in 1992 - our CBR 900RR, to the original Honda Dream. Honda says it could be one of the finest collections outside the company's museum in Japan. You can watch Silver tell his story in the video above, and there's more on what's he'll have in an article in Honda's Dream magazine. Honda, GM fuel-cell partnership wants to reduce hydrogen refueling costs
Thu, Feb 27 2014To paraphrase the old political adage, it's the cost, stupid. Dollar signs are what's prompting Honda and General Motors to partner up to accelerate development of a hydrogen fuel cell system. With about half the cost of a fuel-cell system tied up in its fuel-cell stack, GM and Honda are looking to help each other drive costs down, according to a presentation by GM fuel cell research and development director Mark Mathias said in a presentation at the SAE 2014 Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Technologies Symposium. According to Green Car Congress, Honda and GM are looking to reap the fruits of their collective labor by 2020. As with other automakers, the high cost of producing fuel-cell vehicles is the fly in the ointment of a powertrain technology that combines the same range as gas-powered vehicles but with zero emissions. In the meantime, Honda, which makes the very limited production FCX Clarity fuel-cell vehicle, is slated to start selling its own mass-market fuel-cell vehicle in 2015. The two automakers made their partnership announcement last summer and said they contribute to expanding hydrogen fuel infrastructure in California during the next few years. Earlier, Ford, Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler and Nissan also said they would work together to speed up fuel-cell technology development.
