THIS VEHICLE HAS GOTTEN ME PLENTY OF ACTION OVER THE YEARS. I ENJOYED DRIVING AROUND WITH MY TOP DOWN(LITERALLY) WAVING MY HANDS AND BLOWING KISSES TO ALL THAT LOOKED. THIS VEHICLE WAS DEFINITELY A DUDE AND CHICK MAGNET. YEA, BABY!! THIS IS A RUST FREE WEST COAST CAR ITS WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. FLUIDS WERE CHANGED REGULARLY, INCLUDING THE DIFFERENTIAL & TRANSMISSION FLUID. HAD MINOR BODY WORK. CAR WAS SCRAPED IN THE PARKING LOT TO THE DRIVER DOOR BUT NO MECHANICAL ISSUES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF WHEN IT WANTS, USUALLY AFTER A FILL UP. THE LIGHT WAS OFF THE DAY OF SMOG CHECK. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP HAS RIP IN A FEW PLACES, THEY ARE PATCHED UP AND HOLDS FINE. Honda, Mercedes top KBB brand image awards [w/video]
Wed, 09 Apr 2014Kelley Blue Book has announced the winners of its 2014 Brand Image Awards, which look at brands with "attributes that capture the attention and enthusiasm" of customers in the market for a new car.
The award is divided up into luxury brands and everyone else non-luxury brands, with a number of sub-awards in each group. There's also a single award for truck brands. Taking the crown for the best everyman brand (for the second year in a row) is Honda, while Mercedes-Benz was the king of the luxury brackets. Ford, meanwhile, had the best image among pickup buyers.
Honda was also named the most trusted brand among shoppers, while Kia, GMC, Mini and Chevrolet also snagged awards for value, refinement, performance and styling, respectively. Secondary winners in the luxury ranks include Lexus, Buick, Porsche and Jaguar. Mercedes was also named the most refined luxury brand.
Honda Civic Type R caught naked and frisky
Tue, 13 May 2014Honda's upcoming Civic Type R is one of our most anticipated models of the next year - and we probably won't even get it in North America. And yet, each time we see it, the five-door just seems so menacing and purposeful. An all-but-undisguised version has just been spotted by our photographers testing on the back roads in Germany. If this signals what to expect, then the project appears to be coming along nicely.
Compared to the concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show, this prototype looks even meaner. Check out those big, blistered front fender extensions, taller wing, deeply sculpted front air dam and 10-spoke gold wheels. The Type R certainly certainly isn't hiding its performance intentions, and it has no reason to. Under the hood, we know it packs Honda's new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder pumping out 276 horsepower, which is likely connected to a six-speed manual.
Now, if only Honda could find some way to get this machine across The Pond and into the our hot little hands. There has already been an online petition begging the Japanese automaker to find a way, and after recently enjoying an all-too-brief prototype drive, we're ready to sign up.
