Here is your chance to own a Super Clean 2001 Honda S2000 with less then 8500 original miles!
This car is and has been owned since new by an older lady (my mother) that has taken excellent car of the vehicle.

Unlike most S2000 in the marketplace this car has never been abused, over revved, tracked, modified, crashed and repaired and etc. This is truly a super clean car. I am selling this car for my mother (the original owner) since she is not active online. She purchased this car new when she retired as a Sunday Car. She also own a Honda Accord, which has been her regular daily driver. No, she is older and simply does not drive the car much (less then 100 miles per month). She decided to sell her Honda Accord and this S2000 and get herself a newer, bigger, more comfortable car.

Since new, this car has been garaged in California and has never even been driven in the rain. The car has never been abused in any way at all. If you want a super clean S2000 with super low miles this is it!!!

The car only has one small flaw. A little scratch under the front spoiler that has been touched up. The only way you would see it is if you layed on the ground in front of the car and looked underneath. Other then that, the car is perfect!

The car is located in Long Beach, California (about 20 minutes south of Los Angeles). It is titled, registered, never modified and can be shipped anywhere. If you are interested in the car or would like to schedule a test drive please contact us through eBay, leave your name and phone number and we will call you and set up a appointment to see the car.

To limit tire kickers we will ask that you place a bid on the vehicle prior to scheduling a test drive. If after the test drive you are not 110% satisfied with what you see we will take off the bid. This is only being done to avoid setting up a lot of test drives, bothering my mother (the owner) by those that simply want to take a joy ride and are not serious in purchasing.

We also have a new, hardy EVER used Genuine Honda Hardtop in Yellow for the car. It is not included with this auction, but will be available to the buyer at an extra cost as an option. Afterwards if the car is sold without the top we will offer it up for sale.

Thank you for your time... Please note! This car is not being sold through MADNESS Autoworks. I am the owner of MADNESS Autoworks and am listing the car for my mother. I will assist with the sale, can assist with shipping arrangements, as an owner of a shop can offer you an inch by inch review of the car and even send you close up pics of anything you would like to see. The car is available for viewing by appointment between the hours of 9-5.

Analysts say Honda's growing woes in Europe not just the economy

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

There is no denying that the European auto market is taking its lumps right now - just ask Peugeot - but Honda might be taking this downturn on the chin a little harder than some of the other Japanese automakers doing business on the continent. Automotive News Europe is reporting that things have gotten so bad for Honda that it will be cutting 800 workers from Swindon, England plant that builds the CR-V, Civic and Jazz (a.k.a. Fit). This will be the first time Honda has made such cuts in more than 20 years.
Despite an increase in output last year over 2011 (165,607 units compared to 97,459), the Swindon plant is still running well below its full capacity (250,000/year), and its 66 percent capacity is less than the expected breakeven point of industry analysts (75 to 80 percent). Unlike in the US, however, Honda's new CR-V and Civic aren't selling well, and the similarly sized Nissan Qashqai is outselling the CR-V at a rate of more than five to one. Slow CR-V sales are blamed on a relatively high price and the crossover's conservative styling. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, the report notes that Nissan continues to experience growth at its UK operations, leading analysts to suggest that Honda can't blame the sour economy for much of its woes.

NHTSA Probes Nearly 400,000 Infiniti, Honda Vehicles Over Steering Faults

Tue, Nov 11 2014

As many as 391,000 vehicles from Honda and Infiniti may eventually need to be recalled as a result of two, separately announced Preliminary Evaluations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to ascertain the scope of the potential safety hazards. In one of the queries, NHTSA is looking into 24 reports from drivers of the 2013 Honda Accord who say they had total loss of their power steering or experienced a sudden increase in the necessary effort to turn the wheel. In four cases, the problem may be linked to crashes. According to the claims, 13 people reported seeing a warning message during the failure. Turning off the car and restarting it would fix the issue in some cases. If a recall is necessary, it could affect an estimated 374,000 Accords. The second investigation is much smaller in scope. The safety agency is investigating the 2008 Infiniti EX35 after two complaints of the steering wheel shaft separating and the vehicle losing the ability to steer. Both reports say the steering became loose when driving and then completely failed once the vehicle was stopped. A recall for the problem would affect an estimated 17,000 vehicles. Honda patents engine with different cylinder displacements

Mon, May 9 2016

A basic rule of engine design states that the displacement of a cylinder is equal to the engine's total displacement divided by its cylinder count. Honda, according to a recently surfaced Japanese patent, is looking to break that rule with an engine containing cylinders of different sizes. We've done our best to translate it from patent-ese. The idea is that different-sized combustion chambers give more flexibility when any combination of cylinders are deactivated, or rested. Because the different numbers can be combined in various ways, it provides more and smaller increments than would an engine with equal-displacement cylinders. Take a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, for example. Following the golden displacement rule, each of the four cylinders has a volume of 500 cc, giving displacement increments of 500 cc when any cylinder is deactivated. But suppose instead that the four cylinders displace 300, 425, 600, and 675 cc, respectively. This would give the engine 15 available displacements instead of just four, and the spacing between each option would be far less than 500cc. As a result, those different virtual displacements would provide more adjustment between power and efficiency than a cylinder-deactivation system can on a conventional engine. Honda's patent describes cylinders with equal bore size, with the displacement from cylinder to cylinder varying based on the crank throw radius – the longer the throw, the longer the stroke and the larger the displacement of that particular combustion chamber. The patent describes how the cylinder sizes would need to be arranged to spread the load on the crankshaft and presumably limit vibration that would be introduced by the different pulse magnitudes. If we're interpreting things correctly, the largest cylinder (the one with the longest crank throw radius) sits in the middle of the bank with the smaller ones alternating on either side as they decrease in displacement. This concept is described for multi-cylinder inline and V-type engines of various sizes. The patent was filed in March of 2014 and published in January of this year. Whether or not this arrangement will reach production is of course unknown, but the advantages in terms of both efficiency and power seem promising.
