Here’s a 1997 Honda Prelude (Base) 5-speed that I purchased on (5/6/10) from a local car auction here in North Carolina.  The car was issued a salvage title due to the fact that the insurance company said it would cost more to fix it, rather then the car was worth.  Below are the actual pictures taken when I purchased the car on (5/6/10) along with its current condition.  The car currently has 182,885 miles which is the same mileage when I purchased it.  My original plans were to rebuild the car from the ground up, and that’s the reason why I haven’t driven it.

As you can see from the pictures I’ve either fixed or replaced what was originally broken with new parts.  The original engine that came with the car is in great shape.  It runs and drives because I’ve pulled it out of my garage from time to time to work on it.  I would advise the winner to have the car towed to not damage the car because it’s been sitting for over three years.  Know issues that need to be addressed (paint job, change gas, change brake fluid, change transmission fluid, and trunk latch needs to be adjusted).

Everything you see in the pictures will be included with the car.  Please note that EBay limits ads to 24 pictures (so some items are not shown in the pictures, but will be included in the sale).  Below is list of what’s included.  The car, extra H22A engine, two turbochargers, two intercoolers, and etc. are to be sold as is.  Winner is responsible for all shipping charges.  Local pick up preferred.  Forms of payment accepted (Paypal or certified U.S. bank issued cashiers check).  Note: **Denotes new parts that I already installed, or in original box waiting to be installed.  There is No Reserve! Happy bidding.

I would like to sell the car, but I would entertain a trade of comparable value. There are well over $11,000 in car and parts. The list of cars I would trade for must be fully functional (I.e. Run, Start, Drive) with no significant issues... Here's the list of what I would possibly trade for: Audi A4 1.8t/2.0t, Dodge SRT-4, Mitsubishi VR-4, BMW Z-3, Mini Cooper S, Mazda RX8, Toyota MR-2 (Last Generation Made), Honda S2000, BMW 3 Series (00-newer), Saab 9-2x, Miata (99 or newer), VW Golf GTi (00-Newer), Mitsubishi Evolution, Acura RSX, Audi TT, Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice, Chrysler Crossfire, Porsche Boxster, or Corvette (98-newer).

There are no liens on this vehicle.  I currently have the title in hand...  Ready to sign over to the new owner.

Honda CEO: electric vehicles are a 'core technology'

Mon, Jul 6 2015

The production version of Honda's hydrogen-powered FCEV concept remains on target for release in Japan by March 2016, and it's going to be followed by at least two more vehicles that have some form of electric powertrain. Probably more than two, but we can't be more specific than that. This is what we learned today from a speech by the new president and CEO of Honda Motor Company, Takahiro Hachigo. Speaking about the two main themes he sees for the future of the automaker (the six-region global operation structure and "continuous development of challenging products unique to Honda"), Hachigo once again confirmed an on-sale date for the production version of the FCEV concept that Honda has been trotting out at auto shows for a few years now as happening, "before the end of the current fiscal year" which ends March 31, 2016. He also said something broader about the company's vision for electric cars: "As the next-generation of mobility products, Honda will evolve products that use electricity as a core technology," he said. While we don't yet know what the electric vehicle products are, Hachigo's statements echo those of Mike Accavitti, senior vice president of American Honda, from when the FCEV concept was unveiled: "The Honda FCEV Concept not only sets our direction for our next generation fuel-cell vehicle in 2015, but for future improvements in electric drive technology." Honda previously promised new all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2018, and today's comments signal that that plan is still in place. Things may change though, since Honda's original release date for the FCEV was 2015. Honda patents engine with different cylinder displacements

Mon, May 9 2016

A basic rule of engine design states that the displacement of a cylinder is equal to the engine's total displacement divided by its cylinder count. Honda, according to a recently surfaced Japanese patent, is looking to break that rule with an engine containing cylinders of different sizes. We've done our best to translate it from patent-ese. The idea is that different-sized combustion chambers give more flexibility when any combination of cylinders are deactivated, or rested. Because the different numbers can be combined in various ways, it provides more and smaller increments than would an engine with equal-displacement cylinders. Take a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, for example. Following the golden displacement rule, each of the four cylinders has a volume of 500 cc, giving displacement increments of 500 cc when any cylinder is deactivated. But suppose instead that the four cylinders displace 300, 425, 600, and 675 cc, respectively. This would give the engine 15 available displacements instead of just four, and the spacing between each option would be far less than 500cc. As a result, those different virtual displacements would provide more adjustment between power and efficiency than a cylinder-deactivation system can on a conventional engine. Honda's patent describes cylinders with equal bore size, with the displacement from cylinder to cylinder varying based on the crank throw radius – the longer the throw, the longer the stroke and the larger the displacement of that particular combustion chamber. The patent describes how the cylinder sizes would need to be arranged to spread the load on the crankshaft and presumably limit vibration that would be introduced by the different pulse magnitudes. If we're interpreting things correctly, the largest cylinder (the one with the longest crank throw radius) sits in the middle of the bank with the smaller ones alternating on either side as they decrease in displacement. This concept is described for multi-cylinder inline and V-type engines of various sizes. The patent was filed in March of 2014 and published in January of this year. Whether or not this arrangement will reach production is of course unknown, but the advantages in terms of both efficiency and power seem promising.
