Up for bid is a 1998 Honda Passport. I listed this SUV before, but the winning bidder ended up being a scammer, so here it is again. The odometer says 256595 on it, but the previous owner told me that is had a new engine put in it along the way sometime, but I cannot confirm that. I have not driven the SUV in a few months as I work an hour away and bought a smaller car to save on gas. This SUV does get great gas mileage for an vehicle of this size. I am not sure what the gas mileage is exactly though, because the gas gauge does not work. I fill it up completely and drive for about 250 miles then fill it up again to be sure I never ran out of gas. I drove it from my driveway to the street the other day and had to jump it, so it may need a new battery, or just some time to charge the one in it, it might just be the cold and it not being used for a few months. When I moved it I did notice a few drops on the ground under it. I never had problems with it leaking before when I drove it every day, but it may be leaking oil and or antifreeze now from the looks of the ground. It could also be old stains, I am not sure but I wanted to mention it. Also, when I moved it the other day there was a light on by the speedometer that was never on before. It says "power drive". I have no idea what that means, if I just turned something on or what, sorry I am not a car guy. The tires are all in good shape as is the spare. It has a luggage rack on top. 4 months ago this was my daily driver and was always dependable, started every time. The 4 wheel drive works just as it should, and is really good in the rain and snow. When I checked the oil the other day, the hood would not latch all the way after. I cannot tell why, it looks like it should. It closes enough to drive and not fly up, but it can move up and down about an inch. The SUV is sold as is. Good luck bidding and feel free to ask any questions!

Honda recalling nearly 900,000 Odyssey minivans over fire fear
Mon, 17 Mar 2014Honda is recalling nearly 900,000 2005 to 2010 model year Odyssey minivans due to a fault with the fuel pump that could cause them to catch fire.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration filling, if exposed to "acidic chemicals and a high temperature environment," the cover of the fuel pump strainer could crack and cause a gasoline smell in the minivan or possibly allow the fuel to leak out. Denso supplied the fuel pumps on the vehicles, and the report says that Honda first began studying the problem in October 2012 but didn't finally confirm the cause until March 6, 2014. The recall affects 886,815 Odysseys, and Honda has received 187 warranty claims related to the issue. However, there have been no fires or injures reported.
Unfortunately, Honda says that it currently doesn't have enough replacement fuel pumps to fix all of the vehicles and doesn't expect to have the parts ready until this summer. It's sending a letter to owners telling them about the recall and is sending a second notification when the pieces are at dealers. The entire notification including affected VINs can be viewed as a PDF here, and the shortened version from the NHTSA can be viewed below.
Honda, Subaru airlifting parts to bypass port labor diputes
Fri, Feb 6 2015It should be abundantly obvious that a vital element in building cars is actually having the components on hand to assemble them. A labor dispute on the West Coast between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and management is not making that quite so easy for some Japanese automakers. Work slowdowns at the ports have pushed Honda and Subaru parent Fuji Heavy Industries into flying some parts into the country. The two automakers began shipping by airplane late last month to avoid production delays, according to Bloomberg, but it has been an expensive solution. Subaru's chief financial officer said the decision cost around $60 million more per month than sending components by cargo ship. They aren't the only companies dealing with the problem, either. Toyota reportedly stopped overtime assembly at some of its factories here because of the delays in getting parts, according to Bloomberg. The dockworkers have been negotiating on a new contract since May 2014, and the current offer on the table to them has offered a 3 percent raise, according to Bloomberg. Although, the union is reportedly considering another slowdown at 29 ports along the West Coast in the coming days. Honda stretches new Shuttle to Fit the Japanese market
Tue, Apr 21 2015While the Honda Odyssey that we get here in North America may be getting bigger with each passing generation, the minivans Honda offers in its home market are still pretty small. Like the new Shuttle. Set to be unveiled in full next month, the new Shuttle is a compact minivan that looks like a longer version of the Fit hatchback we get over here. In fact previous versions were marketed as the Fit Shuttle, but the little hatchback's handle seems to have been dropped from this latest model. It's still a five-seater, but with extra cargo capacity including under-floor storage, all in a compact, Tokyo-friendly form. It's not as small as a Kei car – the miniature vehicle segment which Honda covers with its N series – but would likely be far too small to suit the typical American family. Technical details are still forthcoming, but the new Shuttle will be available with a 1.5-liter direct-injection inline-four or a hybrid powertrain, just like the Fit. But unlike the little hatchback we know, it will also be available with all-wheel drive.
