I am selling our beloved 2005 Odyssey.  Bought brand new 9 years ago, it has done it's job and more.  This is a fully loaded Minivan with many extra features.  The only thing missing is a Navigation system.  It is the Touring package.  113,000 miles. It has 'lived' in Jackson it's whole life thus far - so it a warm climate vehicle.  Never has been involved in any accidents. Never smoked in. It is a 5 speed automatic which shifts flawlessly; 6 cylinder engine, 255 hp 3.5Liter SOHC 24 valve i-VTEC.  Average MPG is around 22, with the 'official numbers being 20 City 28 Highway.  I have maintained this vehicle aggressively, and have only used quality products like Mobile 1 synthetic oil, or Original Honda fluids for brakes/transmission etc.  I have complete documentation.  I just replaced the front brake pads and rotors today.  The vehicle runs perfectly, and the only reason I am selling is because the Mrs. is done with driving it!  I have a towing package on it, with hitch/wiring/ATF and PS coolers.  It can tow 3500 pounds without any difficulty.  I have a 15 inch LCD DVD player with 4 wireless headsets and a remote.  The features are too numerous to list.  Please do a search on the 05 Odyssey touring without the Nav and you will see it has everything for families.  Seats 7.  Captain's chairs in the second row with a console in the middle.  I had it removed so we could get the rear easier, but it is included in the sale.  Also, originally the vehicle came with Michelin PAX run flats.  I still have them and will include them in the sale.  I put aftermarket OZ 18 inch wheels with Goodyear tires, with Tire pressure monitoring.  They look great, ride well, and look unique.  I also bought a spare and it is in the van.  Power windows, doors, rear lift gate, power side doors, and sunroof.  I have three key fobs, one is brand new, one is in good condition, one has significant wear - but they all work. Two regular keys, and a valet key.  Please let me know if you are interested and you can come check it out.  I added a CarFax report for your convenience and safety.
I am also trying to sell this vehicle locally and will end the bidding early and terminate the auction if I find a buyer.

Honda Accord under investigation due to airbag failures

Sat, Aug 22 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening a preliminary evaluation into the possibility of airbags not deploying in the 2008 Honda Accord. The agency has received 19 reports, including one injury, of the airbag control module failing, and the part is on an estimated 384,000 of the vehicles in the US. "For vehicles with a failed SRS module, some or all of the airbags may be unavailable in a crash warranting deployment," NHTSA's investigation says. Drivers are warned when the part stops working by a light on the instrument panel, but several of these reports indicate the module is unable to show diagnostic trouble codes when being inspected. The only way to fix the issue is to replace the whole component, and the Detroit News reports that can cost $500 or more. NHTSA's preliminary evaluations investigate "the scope, frequency, and consequence" of a problem and don't necessarily mean a recall is warranted. INVESTIGATION Subject : SRS Module Failure Date Investigation Opened: AUG 18, 2015 Date Investigation Closed: Open NHTSA Action Number: PE15029 Component(s): AIR BAGS All Products Associated with this Investigation close Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) HONDA ACCORD 2008 Details Manufacturer: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) SUMMARY: ODI has identified 19 VOQ reports alleging failure of the air bag SRS control module. One of the reports involved a frontal crash event where the frontal air bags did not deploy. The crash resulted in an injury to the driver and lone occupant, and the vehicle was subsequently inspected by the agency. According to the reports, the failure of the SRS module is indicated by the air bag readiness indicator lamp illuminating on the instrument panel. Consumers report the SRS control module had to be replaced to correct the condition. Several reports indicated that the SRS module was unable to communicate thus preventing diagnostic trouble codes from being retrieved. An inability of the SRS unit to communicate raises concern about the readiness of the entire supplemental restraints system. As a result, for vehicles with a failed SRS module, some or all of the air bags may be unavailable in a crash warranting deployment. ODI is opening this investigation to further evaluate the scope, frequency, and consequence of the alleged SRS module failures.

Meet the Kanjozoku, Osaka's infamous street racers

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Street racing is obviously illegal and incredibly dangerous, but that has never stopped people from doing it. While we don't hear nearly as much about the scourge of Japanese tuner cars as when The Fast and the Furious first hit theaters over a decade ago, illegal street racing is still bubbling under the surface all over the island nation. An excellent new documentary short from Bowls Films takes a look at the Kanjozoku from Osaka, Japan; a group that claims to be partially responsible for the tuning style known as JDM.
The group gets their name from their preferred route known as the Kanjo. It's a 4.77-mile long loop of connected highways running right through the city of Osaka. You might expect a hardcore group of illegal Japanese racers to show up with highly tuned Nissan GT-R and Toyota Supra coupes, but the Kanjozoku evidently eschew all of the others in favor of one particular car that they love: the Honda Civic.
According to the video, that vehicle of choice came in part from the city's location. Osaka was relatively near the one-make Civic races held at Japan's legendary Suzuka racetrack. The hatchbacks thus became the default weapons for the Kanjozoku's street battles.

GoPro learned to hoop from Meadowlark Lemon

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Wait, wait, wait. We promise that there's something to do with cars in this story. Really, there is. It also, though, features some basketball antics. And the entire thing is possible thanks to the magic that is the GoPro.
Strategically situated, the little cameras capture David Kalb, a master when it comes to making trick basketball shots. This time, he's showing just what he can do when launching balls through the sunroof of a Honda Civic. That includes dribbling and sinking a layup (although we think he may have traveled when driving to the net).
Take a look below for the video, and let us know what you think of Kalb's tricks down in Comments.
