Up for sale is a 1994 Honda Del Sol. Adult owned. Bought the car from an adult with 90xxx miles on it, and I am selling it with 151,xxx. This has been my daily highway and traveling car. Traveled from Florida to Chicago with this car with no issues. This car has had the maintenance completed as required for the car. I have only had to put brakes, tires and oil changes to this car. A new windshield was put on the car 3 months ago, due to a chip in the window. This is a SOHC VTEC engine. For those who do not know, this is the car that works to get great fuel mileage. The engine and transmission work together to reduce the total amount of RPM's needed to get to speed. This is a fun car! Jumps off the line and I average 270 miles on a 9.5 gallon tank. This is usually a week’s worth of driving for me. I get about 320 miles on a longer trips. The tires have about 40-50% tread life left, these are Michelin branded tires. Just had the car looked over, the technician said that the brake master cylinder needs to be replaced soon - this is a 50.00 part, cheaper on Rock Auto. Total parts for the changeover if you know how to work on brakes yourself should be about 65 - 75.00 - because you need to buy more brake fluid to bleed the brakes to get rid of the air in the lines when you change the master brake cylinder. A shop will charge about 400.00 with parts and labor. Fun things with this car. This has been adult owned the whole time. A suspension kit called SKUNK2 was installed to allow the car to hug the road better on corners and to allow for a wider rim to gain more traction. No joke, this car takes corners and adjusts to quick movements on the highway like a true sports car. This long term kit was installed at around 75K miles on the car, previous owner. This car has coil over shocks on all 4 corners of the car. Doesn't bounce and handles the road great! There are NO chop shop back yard mechanics to this car. Very reliable and just awesome to drive anywhere as a front wheel drive car! I am 6'2" and I fit fine in this car. I actually have to pull the seat up some. This car has a removable hard top that goes into the trunk for storage, with more storage still available for when you go out shopping or carrying some party supplies to a BBQ. :) See attached pictures. I pulled the carpet so that you could see that there are no gasket leaks, seals are good all the way around the car. Under the car is great! This has slotted rotors. Meant to reduce heat and improve braking. Technician said that the pads are within 3mm of needing replaced, so by winter or next spring - depending on how hard you are on disc brakes - they will need replaced. I would replace these when you replace the master cylinder. You can see how to do this on a YouTube video if you would like to see if you comfortable in doing this yourself. There are two minor rust spots, see pics. They are located to the rear of the car, and just out in front of the rear wheels. Rest of car is in great shape. Rims are OK, they have about 70K miles on them. I do not have the original rims. But I do have two additional tires with the sale of the car. This is a black car. Interior is a dark clothe. This is a fun automatic. This has a nice Pioneer CD deck that has an AUX input and a USB port. You can change the colors to some 50 options. This car has 6 speakers, 4 by the driver and passenger, the other 2 in the doors. This is ALL stock. Sounds great. I am only selling this car to get a truck. The insurance is cheap on this car. Or I would be keeping it if I could get a hitch to put on it for hauling. The timing belt was changed over at 110K miles. So the fluids to the tranny, the radiator and engine were all changed over as well. I have been changing the oil over 3-3500 miles. The body is a 7/10, due to slight rust and the bumper has some pebble marks on it. The interior is an 8/10 - only due to tear in driver side backside of seat. I have looked around for an all-inclusive warranty for this car, and I found one for ~1600, 5 yr/75k miles. It’s a great warranty, had the same with another Honda (civic) I had and I didn't have to pay a deductible or anything for any repairs - including brakes and shocks! But it’s your call if you think you need added peace of mind. The engine has no mods. Just an updated exhaust and alternator, 2 years old. Tune-up is 2 years old as well. Any questions, let me know. I have been building and restoring cars and motorcycles for over 10 years. I am at 100% and I will answer any questions that you may ask. Looking to sell fast to get something else. Trying to sell over eBay this round. Selling locally as well, have the right to end this auction early if sold. Being sold as-is where-is. This is a daily driver, so more miles will be on this car by the time someone gets this car. Thank you for reading, take care!

Honda exclusive to McLaren at least until 2017
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Next year Honda will return to Formula One after a seven-year absence, bringing the first Japanese automaker to compete in the top-tier racing series back into the fold. But though it started in 1964 much as it ended in 2008, running its own team (much like Ferrari and Mercedes do today), its new F1 program will see it revert to engine-supplier status (like Renault did when it sold its team to Lotus).
The arrangement will be exclusive to McLaren for the 2015 Formula One World Championship. But what fans and insiders alike have been wondering is how it might expand after that. Well, now we have at least part of the answer.
According to the F1 business insiders at Pitpass, Honda motorsport chief Yasuhisa Arai told a group of journalists at this past weekend's race in Shanghai that the deal with McLaren will be exclusive not only in 2015, but also in 2016. In other words, it won't be until 2017 at the earliest before Honda might begin supplying engines to any other teams, if at all.
Recharge Wrap-up: VW exec predicts EVs with 375-mile range
Wed, Oct 8 2014Volkswagen says EV ranges over 300 miles aren't too far in the future. Plug-in hybrids are merely a bridge to all-electric mobility becoming more practical for people who need to travel longer distances, according to Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neusser, Volkswagen's head of powertrain development. Energy density is increasing rapidly in new batteries. Speaking about the e-Golf, Neusser says, "I expect the next generation in 2015-17 will increase to around 300 km [186 miles] and the following step will be around 500-600 km [310-372 miles]." Neusser also says he believes that charging infrastructure will improve to catch up with these more advanced batteries. Read more at Motoring. BMW is offering higher incentives for the all-electric i3 than the range-extended version. More buyers are opting for the i3 REx, with its 78 extra miles of range. So, to move the standard i3 (which is already cheaper), BMW is offering $2,000 in incentives for October - double what is offered for the i3 REx. The added incentives help close the price gap between the BMW and other EVs with similar ranges. The deals won't last long, though. According to New Jersey BMW salesman Manny Antunes, BMW's current incentives are "as aggressive as they're going to get" for a while. Read more at Green Car Reports. Honda is changing its research and development process for all cars after a series of Fit Hybrid recalls. The hybrid version, which makes up more than half of all Fit sales in Japan, was the subject of four recalls within nine months. In response, Honda will change the way it develops cars worldwide, with one extra "gate" to pass in the process. Honda will do prototype testing earlier in the research process to see how separately developed components work together before moving onto the car's development phase. It will add time and cost to making cars, but Honda hopes it will help prevent problems - like those that come with a flurry of recalls - down the road. Read more at Automotive News. On sale in Japan, Honda won't bring $31k Odyssey Hybrid to US
Fri, Feb 5 2016Japanese minivan customers have been spoiled for choice when it comes to gas-electric versions of their favorite family haulers. Toyota, for example, started selling the Estima - the world's first hybrid minivan – in 2001, and it also offers the Aphard hybrids. Starting tomorrow, buyers will be able to buy the new Odyssey Hybrid minivan from Honda for a not-unreasonable price. US buyers? We're not so lucky. That's because the Japanese Odyssey and the version sold in the US don't share much except the name. That means that the only company bold enough to put a hybrid powertrain – and a plug-in version at that – into a US-bound minivan is FCA, which just introduced us to the Pacifica Hybrid. So, we'll have to just pine for what's available over in Japan. There, the new Odyssey Hybrid comes with an updated dual-motor Sport Hybrid i-MMD powertrain that uses a 2.0-liter and no transmission. It is offered in two versions (standard and 'Absolute') and a total of six trim levels. The hybrid Odyssey starts at the equivalent of $31,235 US and tops out at $34,725, which is a level that Honda says is, "affordably-priced." Related Video: Honda to Begin Sales of Refreshed Odyssey and Odyssey Absolute -- Hybrid model will be newly added to the Odyssey lineup TOKYO, Japan, February 4, 2016 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will begin sales of an affordably-priced hybrid version as well as the newly refreshed gasoline-powered version of the Honda Odyssey and Odyssey Absolute premium minivans on Friday, February 5, 2016 at dealerships across Japan. A new addition to the Odyssey lineup, the hybrid version realizes both excellent fuel economy and high-quality driving in the Odyssey and Odyssey Absolute which have been well-received for their spacious cabin, stately styling and exhilarating yet stable driving experience. The newly-added Odyssey Hybrid and Odyssey Hybrid Absolute are the first Honda premium minivan models equipped with the revolutionary Honda-developed powertrain Sport Hybrid i-MMD*1 and realize class-topping*2 fuel economy of 26.0 km/L (JC08 mode)*3. In the thorough pursuit of system efficiency, Honda developed a new motor that features an innovative winding method and structure. This newly-developed motor is approximately 23% smaller and lighter than the previous version and yet realizes high torque and high output.
