Note to bidders:  I've included pictures of the underside of this Honda.  It is exceptionally clean underneath showing only typical surface corrosion on exhaust pipes and un-plated clamps and fasteners. The fuel and brake lines and fittings are very clean. The car has absolutely no issues--no check engine lights or service indicators.  It is 100% ready to drive anywhere and title is in hand ready to transfer.  Please read my brief description below and have a close look at the pictures.  Note that eBay no longer includes the Autocheck reports on the auction tabs.  But this is a 2 owner car and I know both owners as explained below. The car is accident free and has had no unscheduled mechanical or electrical repairs of any kind.  The only body/paint work done was a minor repair to the front bumper area to fix parking lot rash.

2008 Civic
-bigger than they used to be but still enjoy the mid 30's mpg!
-quiet and efficient engine uses a maintenance-free chain so no timing belt worries
-all the nice Honda stuff--cruise control, cold AC, safety goodies
-two remote key fobs plus valet key
-all books, manuals and service records

Auction Vehicle History
This very clean, perfectly maintained, 2-owner, never smoked in Civic was a college graduation gift for my niece who then defied all odds and got a job.  Her luck got even better when she got a company car!  So good friend Tom who owns an engine rebuilding and auto service shop bought the car for his wife.

The body and paint is beautiful no scrapes or dings.  As mentioned above, the front plastic bumper was replaced from a parking lot scrape.

4 new snow tires on steel rims are mounted on the car.  The original wheels with good tires are included.

Only 53k miles from new, current on all service, 3k mile oil changes, no shakes, no fluid leaks of any kind, no rattles, no check engine lights, everything works as expected.

About the Seller
I am a mechanical engineer with 40 yrs experience in the auto industry after-market.  I list vehicles for friends and family and enjoy a good feedback rating thru accurate descriptions. I've shipped vehicles all over the US, Mexico, Canada and Europe so I take my 'descriptive responsibilities' very seriously. Note you have almost as many pictures of the bottom of the car as you do of the top. Thats where the money gets spent so I don't know why so few sellers are willing to show buyers the whole truth?

If you have feedback under 10 please contact me prior to bidding so we can discuss my terms and conditions.  Thanks!

Honda, Volvo, Lincoln are North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year

Mon, Jan 15 2018

The Detroit Auto Show has officially kicked off, as it always does, with the announcement of the North American Car, Utility Vehicle and Truck of the Year winners. For 2018, those are the Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and Lincoln Navigator, respectively. The Honda Accord beat out two other finalists, the Toyota Camry and the new Kia Stinger. The Accord stood out for its styling, drivability and standard equipment. The Volvo XC60 came out ahead of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Honda Odyssey minivan. It was chosen for its luxury, ride and value when equipped well. The Lincoln Navigator, a heavily updated model that remained true to the concept car on which it was based, beat the Ford Expedition, as well as the only pickup in the list, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (which was a finalist for Autoblog's own Technology of the Year Award). NACTOY juror Ron Sessions complimented the "more dramatic update" compared to the Expedition. "With its design now aligned with the Continental, the Navigator becomes an even more important image — and the profit-maker for Lincoln," he said. The NACTOY Awards have been around since 1994. A panel of 60 judges, all automotive journalists, whittle the list down to three finalists in each category before announcing the winners in January. The Utility Vehicle category was added for 2017. Honda lets us 'drive' the FCEV; PHEV with 40-mile EV range

Tue, Oct 27 2015

Blue skies for our children. That's Honda's wonderfully Japanese/English slogan that it uses as a fresh shibboleth to describe the company's plan for the future. It's vague enough to be positive, positive enough to be corporate, and corporate enough to be repeated in presentations around the world. I've certainly heard it a million times. The 2015 Honda Meeting in Utsunomiya, Japan this week was, thankfully, held under a brilliant blue autumn sky, on Honda's R&D track filled with the roar of short test drives in the NSX hybrid and the deafening electric silence of the upcoming hydrogen fuel cell FCEV. But that wasn't all. The amount of technical information Honda offered to visiting journalists during the Meeting was nothing short of overwhelming, which is why I'm glad that Autoblog editor Seyth Miersma was along for the ride. We were both at the same event, but we paid special attention to very different things. You can read his take on the four-motor CR-Z EV and the NSX, among other things, here, and get my take on a bunch of Honda's green news below. Honda calls the FCEV the "ultimate clean performance" vehicle. Honda FCEV: A Short First Crack At Honda's "Ultimate" Vehicle Sure, I got to take a lap in the NSX, but the FCEV was my highlight of the event. This was the first time Honda has let outsiders test drive the upcoming fuel cell vehicle, which the company calls the "ultimate clean performance" vehicle and which is due in the US in next year after a launch in Japan in the spring of 2016. The bad news is that the entire length of the test drive was a measly kilometer, totally straight, with one U-turn at the half-way point. So, even though I went through the course three times (two more than originally scheduled), I can't really say I know how the car drives. What I can tell you is that there are two drive modes, normal and sport, with the main difference being that sport offers stronger regenerative braking and a bit quicker acceleration response. The higher regen level does not allow for one-foot driving, sadly. There's a blue orb that glows in the digital dashboard to indicate the power output of the fuel cell stack (not the motor), so even though the car is fairly quiet as you drive, there's some minimal level of connection between the driver and the "engine." Creature comforts include Honda's excellent LaneWatch and a glossy touch screen for the infotainment system.

Check out these cool displays from Honda's new Ohio museum

Honda undoubtedly has its roots in Japan, but when it comes to its US operations, the automaker holds some very deep ties to the Buckeye State too. The company has been building cars at its Marysville, OH, campus since 1982 and over 10 million Accords have left there since then. The latest addition there is something that might actually bring brand fans to the site, though. The newly opened Honda Heritage Center museum is part of the recently constructed 160,000-square-foot Technical Development Center. The place offers a chance to take a tour of the company's history. While it's not the lavish, multi-story affair from Japan, the site still shows off some quite cool vintage products. The exhibits include an area dedicated to Honda's racing efforts, examples of its many motorcycles and several of its early models, including a '70s Civic. A HondaJet and displays of some of the company's engines are there, as well. The Heritage Center will open to the public in January, and other portions of the Technical Development Center will be responsible for training Honda employees. The Marysville campus will keep growing in the near future too with production of the upcoming Acura NSX taking place at a new facility nearby there. Check out the gallery for a glimpse of just some of what Honda has on display at its new museum. Honda Heritage Center: A tribute to the past, a focus on the future New Museum in Ohio Showcases Honda History in North America Dec 18, 2014 - MARYSVILLE, Ohio The Honda Heritage Center in Marysville officially opened its doors today, offering the world a glimpse of the innovative history and growth the company has achieved in Ohio and North America during the past 55 years. "The new Honda Heritage Center is a collection of Honda dreams in the form of products that are responsible for millions of customer relationships," said Takuji Yamada, chief operating officer of Honda's North American regional operations. "The great variety of products on display – including powersports, power equipment and automobiles, as well as aviation and robotics – together with the major milestones highlighted, tell the stories of Honda associates in Ohio and from throughout North America." Ohio Gov. John Kasich joined Honda officials and state and local community leaders to celebrate the opening of the new $35 million, 160,000-square-foot facility, which includes a museum, Technical Development Center and office space for Honda North America.
