1990 Honda Civic Dx Hatchback 3-door 1.5l on 2040-cars
Granite City, Illinois, United States
| The previous owner of this vehicle listed it as having water damage at one time, but assured me that it was fixed. He stated that he had went through the whole car and changed the carpet's.  I purchased this Honda in the latter part of 2012 and had planed to drive it for the fuel savings.  After my purchase I found their were many things that needed to be completed.  It came with a half set of coil springs for the rear wheels that I installed. The front set were installed, but the brake hose's were left floating which necessitated a complete rework to make their installation correct.           This auction is for a 1990 civic hatchback.  it has 2000,00 miles on the body, but the motor and transmission have been swapped.  The motor is a  JDM ZC DOHC 1.6L with 50,000 miles.  The automatic was converted to a 91 SI 5 speed with 90,000 miles.  The car has a check engine and in park light on because of the swap, and a switch for the back-up lights was installed.                 A honda tech that I purchased the car from did all the swap's and the following:  replaced the water pump, timing belt, all oil seals, alternator, spark plugs, a 1990 integer ECU which has great fuel maps, NGK Blue wires, fuel filter, pro thane shifter bushings, new CV axles, new front shocks with 1.75 inch drop lowering springs, tie rods, new belts, all new hose's both upper and lower, new radiator, wheel bearings, brakes, short ram air intake, headers 4-2-1 to 2.5 inch exhaust with high flow CAT. converter, a new clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, fly wheel and fly wheel bolts.  All fluids are genuine honda.  The interior has 97 civic front bucket seats, and the rear is 91 civic Si leather seats.  Si clock and Si center console, JDM shifter boot with knob and short shifter, 2001 civic Si front floor mats, black carpet out of an Si donor car, and $200.00 super bright head lights.                                                                                                 Since I have owned it, I installed new shocks for the hatch door, new pirelli tires on custom 14 inch honda wheels, relocated a new 5 year battery to under the hood, had a new radio installed professionally, and ordered all of the parts I needed through Honda.  I have only driven about 500 miles, but part of that was on good inter-state road where I was able to give it a adequate test drive.  It performed admirably.  I filled the fuel recently and it still show's full.  This car at one time had AC, but I don't have parts to install it now.  If you have any Question I'll be happy to answer. In regards to water damage I haven't seen any. |

Honda, Chevy reveal low-drag speedway aero for Indy 500
Sun, May 3 2015As the two automakers currently participating in the IndyCar Series, both Chevy and Honda were invited this year not only to provide engines to the teams on the starting grid, but to develop their own aerodynamics packages as well. Both revealed their designs for the road-course races a few months ago, but with the Indy 500 approaching at break-neck speed, they've now unleashed their aero approaches for speedways. Both are based on the Dallara DW12 chassis introduced to the series a couple of years ago, but sacrifice some of their downforce at the altar of speed. And you can tell as much from looking at them: both Honda (above) and Chevy (below) have streamlined their designs, with single-plane front wings, lower-profile rear wings and fewer winglets on the body and around the wheels in between. The idea is to allow the cars to reach higher top speeds with less drag, while offering the necessary amount of downforce for the banked turns. With the four opening road-course rounds complete, teams using either automaker's equipment will keep the existing aero kits on their cars for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the infield course next week, then switch to the speedway package for the Indianapolis 500 later this month. Then it'll be back and forth for the rest of the season as the circus switches between road courses and speedways. Honda Unveils 2015 IndyCar Super Speedway Aero Kit Apr 30, 2015 - SPEEDWAY, Indiana - To be used at the Indianapolis 500 - Manufacturer seeking 11th Indianapolis 500 victory since 2004 - First public running to take place Sunday at Indianapolis Honda today debuted the "Super Speedway" aero kit of aerodynamic upgrades and components its teams will use at this year's 99th running of the Indianapolis 500. The Honda Super Speedway Aero Kit, produced by Honda Performance Development, Honda's racing arm in North America, includes a variety of individual aerodynamic components fitted to the existing Honda-powered Dallara Indy car chassis. All are intended to give Honda's six Indy car teams – encompassing a potential 17 '500' entrants - the ability to maximize performance at the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval and other large ovals ( over one mile in length) on the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule. "We're excited to unveil our Super Speedway aero kit, the newest element in this era of enhanced manufacturer competition in the Verizon IndyCar Series," said Art St. Cyr, president of HPD.
Honda withdraws LMP2 prototype from Pikes Peak
Thu, Jun 25 2015Things don't always go as planned, especially when it comes to racing. That's the lesson that Honda had to learn the hard way at Pikes Peak this year. Unfortunately that means that the ARX-04b LMP2 prototype won't be running up the mountain in this weekend's Race to the Clouds. Honda was slated to run its new LMP2 prototype at Pikes Peak, but a series of misfortunes meant that the entry had to be withdrawn. The prototype was set back with a series of mechanical difficulties, chief among them a turbocharger failure that inflicted damage on the vehicle's engine. That left Honda with little choice but to withdraw the entry. "We some had some problems that forced us to miss practice on Tuesday and Wednesday," Honda spokesman Eric Mauk confirmed in correspondence with Autoblog. Given that Justin Wilson – despite his extensive experience particularly in open wheels – is considered a rookie at this event, "race rules state that he must practice all three sections of the race course before the race. With just two days of practice left (you can only practice one section a day due to time constraints), we could not do that, so we had to withdraw." It's an unfortunate turn of events for Honda and Wilson, to be sure, but the manufacturer will still be entering a number of other vehicles at Pikes Peak this weekend. Included among them are the electric CR-Z prototype, and the NSX that is serving as pace car for the event. All told, Honda is fielding 13 entries in 11 different classes.
Honda Civic Tourer caught testing ahead of 2014 launch
Mon, 08 Apr 2013Honda showed off its Civic Tourer concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and at that time, we were told that a production version would be coming to market in the very near future. Obviously, the sleek lines of the concept car will be dumbed down slightly for consumers, but that doesn't mean the Civic wagon will be a bland machine. The Euro-spec Civic's angular front end looks like it will blend nicely with the rakish rump that we saw on the concept.
Our sources suggest that not only will the Civic Tourer be a class-leader in terms of cargo capacity, but it will likely be a pretty engaging car from behind the wheel, as well. Honda is hoping that the Tourer will account for roughly 20 percent of all European Civic sales after it goes on sale.
Expect to see the production car debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, with the first customers taking delivery in early 2014. In the meantime, have a look at the camouflaged swoopy wagon from all angles in our gallery above.
