For Sale: My wife's 1989 Honda CRX DX, automatic transmission, 164,186 miles, engine completely rebuilt in 2010, original 1.5l (1493cc) D15B2 SOHC engine and tranny. We get 33 mpg in town and 36 mpg on the highway at 75mph.
We bought this car in 2006 with 109,421 miles on it. She used it as a daily driver (4 mile commute, $27 of gas per month!) until we added to our family, and now we don't need a two seater (so I am told). The hot/cold switch is broken on the climate control, so I manually open and close the gate valve under the hood twice a year to switch the heater on/off. The fan controls do work. The AC blows 79 degrees, so it isn't cold. But you don't sweat. I have never had it looked at, but it hasn't gotten worse. The CD radio works fine, but it is 8 years old. We use a FM broadcaster for the ipod. The driver's seat has a seat cover that is the correct color. There is a 6"x2" hole in the outside bolster and a 2"x2" hole on the "bottom bolster". We don't smoke or have dogs. There is some old bondo that has started to crack at the front of the passenger side front fender (see photos). It looks great from ten feet away. This shouldn't be a big deal, and white is easy to match. But I don't enjoy body work; I'm an engine guy.The window tinting has some slight issues, but that is about it.
2006 - 8/31 fuel filter, 12/13 battery terminals, oil change, spark plugs, 12/16 front brakes, harmonic balancer
2007- 4/27 distributor cap, 5/3 muffler, 6/1 tie rod ends, 9/29 radiator, temp sensor
2008 - 2/26 alternator, 12/3 oil pan gasket, oil change, new drain plug, 12/10 left rear strut
2009 - 6/1 steering rack boots, 6/3 upper radiator hose, 9/16 oil change, 9/23 wipers
2010 - 5/30 spark plugs, 6/21 inner tie rod ends, 7/12 tire, 8/4 tire (144,201miles), Spun bearing! 9/19 oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, rod bearing set, battery, 9/29 lower radiator hose, 10 /12 motor mount, 10/14 crank, oil change, 10/18 timing belt, tensioner, piston rings, oil pump, oil pick-up tube, 1 piston rod, full gasket set, 10/19 starter, transmission mount, oil change, 11/2 oil change again, 11/19 front brake lines, 11/20 transmission fluid, air filter, 12/ 6 oil change again, 12/13 rear wheel bearings, 12/23 muffler, CV axles, front and rear brake lines
2011 - 1/15 distributer cap, 3/11 oil change, 3/18 rear brake cylinders, 11/17 - brake master cylinder
Wow. That made me tired just typing that. I know I did more work, but I have misplaced the receipts for the following: lower timing belt cover, water pump, heater hoses, radiator cap, grounding strap, windshield, valve job with engine rebuild, rear brake shoes, front struts/shocks, steering rack and three other tires (not listed above). All five tires have a lot of tread on them.
Included with the car is the owners manual, the Haynes Repair Guidebook (used) and these new parts: valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, many other gaskets, rear brake shoes, Full size spare on Honda rim, fuel filter. Also included are these used parts that are all still in good working order: spark plug wires, spark plugs x8, trunk latch, timing belt, hood hinges, 2 rotor buttons, spare storage compartment for back area-matching blue, exhaust manifold gasket, working water pump, working starter, interior AC controls ($177 on eBay), tie rod ends, working brake master cylinder, good heater hoses, rubber exhaust hangers x3, good radiator hoses, alternator belt and AC belt. Not in working order, but to prove I was in there, I have the old bearings and piston rings.
This car has manual mirrors and windows. All gauges work. It runs smooth and drives great. The pre-OBD2 diagnosis system works fine, but the check engine light isn't illuminated. The paint is shiny. We kept it in the car port a lot because it is so small compared to our other cars. I have a clear title and keys in hand. It sips gas. I'm not interested in a trade unless it is a rear-wheel drive car from Italy or Germany. Please contact me if you would like to see more photos. Take note of my seller rating and bid knowing I want to keep my 100% satisfaction rating by giving you a fair and honest deal. If you are brand new to eBay, please contact me before biding. Please call or text me at 904 -710-752two. My name is Chris. The car is for sale locally, so this ad may disappear.

Honda Accord, Civic are America's most stolen cars
Tue, 20 Aug 2013The National Insurance Crime Bureau has released its latest Hot Wheels study on the most popular stolen cars and trucks for 2012. The study has changed a bit from past years, with the new findings listing only the make and model of each vehicle, while taking into account all model years in its totals. Previous iterations only focused on the most stolen vehicles of a particular model year, with that make and model not appearing anywhere else on the list so as not to appear to call out a particular car. Confusing, eh? Said another way, in previous studies, if the three most stolen vehicles were the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Belchfire Turbo from Fictitious Motors, only the model year with the highest number of thefts would make the list.
The new study takes all model years into consideration while breaking down the number of vehicles stolen per model year in a full, in-depth report. Separately, the NICB is also listing the top 25 new vehicles stolen in 2012. That list is limited exclusively to model year 2012 entries.
Honda took the top two spots in the most stolen vehicles list, with 58,596 Accord models stolen and 47,037 Civic models stolen. The study is interesting, though, in that the most recent model year for the Accord is 1997, while the most recent the Civic is 2000. In fact, Hondas from 1990 to 2000 make up 16 of the top 20 cars stolen in 2012, according to the NICB. Compare that with the MY2012 list, where Honda's vehicles are eleventh and fifteenth, and it looks like the Japanese brand has been beefing up its theft control.
F1 champ Fernando Alonso geared up for rookie run at Indy
Wed, May 24 2017NEW YORK - Twice Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso surprised himself with his qualifying success for Sunday's Indianapolis 500, but the Spaniard knows his biggest challenge will come on race day. Alonso, racing on an oval for the first time, averaged more than 230 miles per hour (370 kph) to qualify fifth fastest for a place in the second row in the 33-car field at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "I was a bit surprised," Alonso, 35, told Reuters on Tuesday. "When we announced to come here one month ago, we did it without knowing how competitive we could be, if I was able to adapt to oval racing, to these cars." "I still lack experience in important moments of the race. I will try to compensate with the speed, with motivation and we will see what happens." A lack of experience may cost him on the biggest day of US racing when a champion will be crowned after 200 laps of the massive 2.5-mile oval, but Alonso is geared up for the chance. "You respect the place, respect the speed. You respect your colleagues out there, but at the end of the day, when you are in your car and close the visor, you would like to have one mile per hour more. It's never enough," he said. While Alonso passed the entrance exam with flying colors in qualifying, he knows the hardest test is to come. "The biggest challenge I will face is in the race when you are running in traffic, those groups of cars that form in the race. It changes completely the behavior of the car. "You feel the car very loose... we've been practicing that with the team, trying to create our own groups because we are six cars," Alonso said. "I still lack experience in important moments of the race. I will try to compensate with the speed, with motivation and we will see what happens." GUESSING GAMES Alonso said timing his moves may be a guessing game. "Taking the opportunity to overtake and to pass will be a difficult decision to make," he said. "There are many factors you need to address while you are driving 230 miles per hour. "You have to stay calm, be ready for the last one-third of the race. That is where it comes." Alonso said the race demands a balance between pushing the limit and not crossing the line into recklessness. "With no experience, for me you're not sure sometimes where you are with that line - if you are over the limits of the car, or over the limits of running with the traffic.
