1988 BLACK HONDA CRX SI

(1.6L, 5 Speed, Sunroof, AM/FM CD)

Hello and thank you for looking at my listing.  I am selling my COMMUTER only because I have another COMMUTER I got running again.  I am the 6th owner of this reliable car.  I bought it with 239K Miles and now it has 320K Miles.  It's true what they say, these older CRX's just keep running.  It's been good to me and I try my best to be good to it.  Except I'm not a mechanic, I just do my best to take care of my cars. This car has the seatbelts on the rear post which is very HARD to FIND, (Not on the doors)!  No Leaks, burns about a quart of oil a month.  Needs TLC, would make a great project car or for extra parts.

The GOOD:

Timing Belt w/ Seals, Serpentine Belt, Water Pump, Inner & Outer Tie Rods, Front Bushings, Front & Rear Brakes, Front & Rear Rotors, Front & Rear Struts, Muffler, Catalyst Converter, Exhaust, Hoses, Regular Tune-ups, Synthetic Oil, Use EKG Plugs, Kenwood CD Player (Detachable Face) & (4) Kicker Speakers, Good Set of Tires, Oil Pan w/ Seal, Radiator, Air & Water Sensors, Fuel Filter, Regular Tune-Up w/ Synthetic Oil & EKG Plugs, Direct-Fit Seat Covers, New Sunroof w/ hard to find Brackets, Pull out Antenna, Blackout Window Vents, Tags & Registration are Current & has a CLEAR TITLE.

The BAD:

The only thing is the car shakes when you press on the brake pedal and it pulls to the right so I think it's coming from the driver side front tire,  I don't know what else it is, I'm tired of trying to figure it out!  The interior seats are torn which is the reason I have seat covers and the rear cargo cover is missing.  The door panels need to be re-upholstered.

Overall this car is an EXCELLENT COMMUTER, I range about 37 MPG and it take 9 gallons to fill up, that's 333 miles per tank.  My reserve is low, not trying to get rich.  I will not ship or deliver car, I will however assist the buyer with getting car ready for delivery.  This car is also ready for local pick-up.

Honda slowing US production due to ports dispute

Thu, Feb 19 2015

The labor dispute that idled 29 ports on the West Coast last the weekend, including Los Angeles and Long Beach, CA, is about to make its effects felt on the showroom floor, according to Reuters. Honda, Toyota and Subaru have been trying to work around the labor disagreement, cutting overtime and airlifting parts to factories, but Honda says parts shortages at plants in Indiana, Ohio and Ontario, Canada, are now severe enough to impede production. The lack of transmissions and some electronic components will slow output of the Honda Accord, Civic, and CR-V – as well as unnamed Acuras. The three affected factories will rework their production schedules from Feb. 16-23. The ports have reopened this week, and US Labor Secretary Tom Perez has flown to San Francisco to mediate a new agreement between the 20,000 dockworkers represented by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association, which represents the terminals and shipping companies. Talks have been going on for almost nine months and the issues aren't settled; meanwhile, the West Coast ports that handle half the nation's maritime cargo and 70 percent of cargo from Asia are putting all kinds of industries on the ropes, and it's estimated to cost the economy $2 billion a day. Japanese automakers kick in $800k for new charging-station company

Mon, Jun 2 2014

Cynics may say that gathering $800,000 (total) from four of Japan's largest automakers is merely a rounding error. Still, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi, along with the Development Bank of Japan, are putting those funds to good use. So, that's something. Last week, those five entities officially founded Nippon Charge Service LLC. The company was established to promote plug-in vehicle charging installations across Japan and the automakers seeded it with 80 million yen, or about $786,000 US. Those funds will be used to help business owners deploy charging stations at convenience stores, highway-side locales and other locations that will make it easier for plug-in vehicle drivers (of Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis and Nissans, obviously) to get their juice. The automakers first announced they'd collaborate last year, when they said they'd work with the Japanese government to more than triple the country's publicly accessible chargers to about 17,000 units. No targets were disclosed as far as how many charging stations would be deployed this time out, but, in a move similar to the EZ Charge system in the US, Nippon Charge Service will also have universally-accepted charging cards available by the end of the year to drivers all of those brands' plug-in vehicles to make the charging process a little more seamless. Check out Honda's press release below. Japan Automakers Advance Electric Charging Infrastructure with New Company, Nippon Charge Service -Established to help build charging infrastructure for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs and EVs)- Toyota Motor Corporation Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Development Bank of Japan Inc. TOKYO, Japan, May 30, 2014 - Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation jointly established a new company, Nippon Charge Service, LLC, on May 26 to promote the installation of chargers for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs, EVs). The goal is to help build a charging network that offers more convenience to drivers in Japan. The new company will promote the installation of chargers, for the good of society and to expand the use of electric-powered vehicles. Related industries are also expected to benefit. Takata, Honda sued in Florida over death of pregnant Malaysian women

Mon, May 4 2015

The Takata recall debacle keeps spiraling as the father of a pregnant woman killed in Malaysia allegedly due to the malfunctioning airbag has filed suit against both the equipment manufacturer and Honda in a court in Florida. The case reportedly revolves around one Law Suk Leh, 42, who was driving her 2003 Honda City on Borneo Island in Malaysia this past July. She was driving at about 20 miles per hour when her car was struck by another. Her airbag deployed with inordinate force, metal shrapnel sliced her neck and she died in the ambulance en route to the local hospital. The baby she was carrying was delivered after the mother's death, but died three days later. Now her father, Law Ngee Chiong, is suing the airbag manufacturer and the automaker on behalf of the estates of his late daughter and granddaughter in a US federal court in Miami. The suit was reportedly filed in the United States because the faulty inflator is made in LaGrange, GA. US District Judge Federico Moreno is currently evaluating about two dozen such personal-injury and death cases, including the one in question, for pretrial rulings and evidence-gathering. Leh's case is one of six deaths blamed on the defective Takata airbags, which have caused automakers and government regulators to recall an estimated 24 million vehicles around the world.
