2003 Honda CR-V LX FWD

The Honda CR-V is roomy and convenient and easy to drive. You can put lots of stuff in it and the back seats are roomy and comfortable. It rides nice and smooth, without the harshness of most SUVs. It's surprisingly maneuverable in tight quarters and handles well on winding roads.

The finish still retains a nice shine. If you look close you're bound to find some minor imperfections as you would with any pre-loved vehicle, but nothing you'd need to fuss with and certain nothing objectionable. Accenting bumpers, mirrors, moldings, and spare tire cover, along with AWESOME 20'' Custom Velocity Rims, and Chrome Step-Rails make this Honda... ONE SHARP SUV! Don't you agree?

The interior is subdued, comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and nicely finished. The Front bucket and Rear Split-Bench seats are in great shape, well contoured, and spacious, split-folding rear seat backs can be reclined, and Big mirrors provide excellent rearward visibility. Honda's concept is similar to Toyota's RAV-4, however the CR-V is considerably bigger and roomier.

The Tan Patterned seating surfaces are in great shape with no issues. The same holds true for the carpets, door panels, and headliner...EXCEPTIONAL. The Floor Mats themselves hardly show any wear and this CR-V is a Non-Smoker so there are no bad odors. The instruments are well-placed and easy to read. It comes loaded with Power Options that operate as designed. Ice Cold Air and a Factory AM/FM/Cassette/CD add significantly to the comfort. A handy tray with integrated cupholders flips up between the front seats, two more cup holders slide out below the climate controls, and there are an abundance of storage pockets and bins located throughout.

For all its engaging details, though, the most endearing trait of the CR-V interior is its roominess. There's lots of front headroom and legroom and plenty of rear legroom. There's a sizable cargo space behind the rear seats and rear seat backs flip and fold individually to expand for even more space. The CR-V even comes with a picnic table that stows in the rear floor. Pop it out, flip down the legs and it's party time.

The CR-V carries its spare tire on a rack mounted on the tailgate and is mounted low enough so that it doesn't interfere with vision to the rear.

Good ride quality is a CR-V strong suit. It's supple enough to absorb the nasty little irregularities of rough pavement without excessive compromise in handling response. We just had it serviced and safety inspected. Tires are matching Nexen radials with approximately 65% tread life remaining so you're all set there. Autocheck shows an accident being reported back in 2009. However, all panels are original and we see no evidence of paintwork. Must have been very minor. Just thought you should know.

The 2.4 liter DOHC 4 cylinder is near legendary. Plenty of power to "Zip" you around town and easy on gas at the same time. EPA rated at 20 city and 28 highway. Versatile, Economical, and SHARP.....NICE!!

The Honda CR-V is an excellent piece of work. It receives Reliability ratings second to none. Has a 5 Star crash test rating. It's much roomier than the RAV4 and its all-around practicality and comfort make it one of the most sought after suv's on the market today.

22,000 Honda Shadow 750 motorcycles recalled [UPDATE]

Update: Honda's statement on the recall is now embedded below. The Basics: Honda will recall 22,142 examples of its 2010-2016 VT750 Shadow motorcycles, including the 2012-2014 VT750CA, VT750C2 and VT750C2F; 2011-2016 VT750C; 2013-2016 VT750CS; 2010-2016 VT750C2B; and 2013-2014 VT750C2S. The Problem: Engine vibration can cause a wire for the bank angle sensor to rub against the joint connector on the wire harness. This can eventually cause a loss of the signal, and the engine could stall. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will replace the bank angle sensor and move the joint connector. If You Own One: Honda expects the recall to begin February 19. Acura NSX GT3 racecar bares all in raw carbon

Acura slowly and dramatically revealed the NSX over a period of years. There were previews, concepts, and lots of teases before Acura finally showed us the whole thing. It's a different story for the racecar. And today, the wraps come off the FIA GT3-spec NSX to show all of its bare-carbon glory. The NSX GT3 strips away more than just the paint from the standard road car. The racecar comes sans hybrid system, meaning all the power from the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is sent solely to the rear wheels. Modifications to the body include a large rear wing, underbody diffuser, and bigger hood vents for engine cooling. While the hybrid system may be gone, the NSX GT3 uses the same block, heads, valvetrain, crankshaft, pistons, and dry sump lubrication system as the road car. Power is sent through a six-speed sequential gearbox instead of the road car's nine-speed. The NSX GT3 will be built alongside the street version in Ohio. Honda engineers in Japan and North America shared in the development. Final GT3 homologation will be completed by the company's Honda Performance Division in Santa Clarita, CA. Related video:

Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV ready for production, Nissan tests Leaf-to-Home energy management

Toyota will begin selling its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCV) in Japan in December. The US and Europe can expect to see the car become available next summer. The FCV, which will likely be called "Mirai" (meaning "future") in Japan, is ready for production ahead of its initial deadline at the end of the fiscal year in March. Toyota planned for annual production of 700 units, but might increase output to meet higher-than-expected demand, which is currently nearing 1,000 units. The cars will mostly be sold in the four cities where a hydrogen fueling infrastructure is already being put in place: Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. Read more at Nikkei Asian Review. Nissan is testing the Leaf EV as part of an energy management system including "Leaf to Home" technology. The system allows the Leaf to help support the power grid during peak energy usage, or provide backup power to a home or building during outages, particularly in emergencies like natural disasters. Using the Leaf's battery to provide electricity during peak hours would lessen the demand on the grid and make the system work more efficiently. Furthermore, if consumers are compensated for the energy saved by using the Leaf for power during periods of high demand, it could encourage more people to adopt the EV. CDP keeps track of how much companies are disclosing about their impact on global climate change. "The need for data on corporate climate change impacts and strategies to reduce them has never been greater," says CDP CEO Paul Simpson. "For this reason we congratulate those businesses that have achieved a position on CDP's Climate Disclosure Leadership Index." Scientists at Stanford University have developed a lithium ion battery that can warn users before it overheats. A thin layer of copper between the anode and the layer separating the anode from the cathode acts as a sensor. When it detects lithium buildups from overcharging are approaching the separator, it sends an early alert long before it gets to a point where it would cause a short (which could lead to a fire).
