For sale is a 1998 GMC 2500 Suburban Turbo Diesel. The diesel engine runs perfectly with plenty of power and is being sold with no reserve.

The 6.5L turbo diesel purrs along with plenty of power. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly without hesitation. There is a problem with the four wheel drive. For some unknown reason the front drive shaft was removed. The four wheel drive buttons on the dash are working. Not sure what will happen if the drive shaft is replaced. It now drives like a two wheel drive Suburban. The brakes, steering and suspension are in good condition. No exhaust leaks.

The exterior is a glossy green with tan trim. There are no major dents or dings. The windshield is free of cracks or chips. The lights and lenses are bright and clear. It has a tow package. The tires have about 30% tread (see pic).

The interior is tan leather. The front seats have seat covers. Under the covers, the driver seat is new but the passenger seat is original with leather cracks. All the other seats, including the 3rd rear seats are in good condition. The front seats have a head rest DVD. All the power options such as windows, side mirrors, cruise control, etc. work as designed. There is a factory sound system with CD and cassette that doesn't seem to be working. The heat is hot and the AC is cold. It has front and rear heat and AC. The hood latch works but the handle is broken (see pic).

Despite the miles, this 2500 Suburban is running like new and family friendly. There are absolutely no mechanical issues with this vehicle, except the four wheel drive, and no indication of any impending problems. The new owner will be able to drive it home, with confidence, no matter where they live.

J.D. Power: Mini, Lexus again offer most satisfying sales experience

JD Power has released its annual Sales Satisfaction Index Study, and once again Mini and Lexus have taken top honors. Overall, buyers are more satisfied with the auto-buying sales experience than they were last year, with those surveyed reporting an average score of 664 points on a 1,000-point scale. That's up from 648 in 2011. Dealer satisfaction also increased by five points over last year as well.
All told, Lexus brought home an index score of 737, which was high enough to put it atop the luxury brands for the second year in a row. JD Power says Infiniti came in second in that category with a score of 728 and Cadillac rounded out the podium with it's rating of 725. Speaking of Infiniti, that brand saw the single largest jump in sales satisfaction of any brand on the survey, popping up 52 index points over 2011.
Among mass-market brands, Mini ranked highest with a score of 712, followed closely by Buick with 706 and GMC farther down the line with 683. You can check out the full press release below for more information.

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
