UP FOR SALE IS A 1993 GMC SUBURBAN K2500
THIS IS A GREAT RUNNING VEHICLE WITH A POWERFUL BIG BLOCK ENGINE!!! THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVE TRAIN. IT IS IN SOUND CONDITION.
WE'VE USED IT FOR CAMPING AND BOATING AND IT PULLED OUR 30 FT CAMPER FULL WITH A 19FT BOAT IN TOW WITH NO PROBLEMS.
THE RADIATOR WAS JUST REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW PERFORMANCE RADIATOR OVER THE SUMMER.
THERE IS A LITTLE DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR BUMPER AS SHOWN IN PICTURE. THE PLASTIC FROM THE BUMPER CATCHES THE DOOR AND DOES EFFECT OPENING THE BACK DOOR. IT OPENS...BUT YOU JUST HAVE TO PULL HARDER.
THE POWER LOCKS ARE A LITTLE OFF SINCE WE HAD SOMEBODY "FIX" THE ACTUATOR. THEY LOCK AND UNLOCK FINE FROM THE PASSENGER'S SIDE, AND MOST OF THE TIME FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE. HOWEVER, THE DRIVER'S SIDE ALWAYS HAS TO BE LOCKED MANUALLY, BUT NOT UNLOCKED.
THE TIRES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. THEY DO NEED TO BE ROTATED, BALANCED AND AN ALIGNMENT.
THE INTERIOR IS CLEAN. FEW STAINS THAT WILL PROBABLY COME RIGHT OUT, BUT NO RIPS OR TEARS. THIS IS A NON SMOKING VEHICLE, BUT WE DO HAVE DOGS AND KIDS THAT HAVE BEEN IN IT ON OUR MANY CAMPING TRIPS AND OUTINGS.
WE NO LONGER HAVE USE FOR THE 8 PASSENGER AS OUR KIDS ARE GETTING OLDER AND NO LONGER WANT TO GO AS TEENAGERS SO OFTEN HAVE BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS TO DO. SO WE'VE PURCHASED A TRUCK INSTEAD AND NO LONGER WANT TO PAY THE EXTRA INSURANCE OR STORE AN EXTRA VEHICLE.
SHIPPING AND/OR PICK UP IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER
VEHICLE IS SOLD "AS IS WHERE IS" AND WE HAVE DESCRIBED IT HONESTLY AND TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDDING.

GM trademarks 'GearOn,' possibly for pickups
Fri, 13 Jun 2014On May 27, a week before General Motors applied for a trademark for the word "Zora," GM filed a trademark application at the US Patent and Trademark Office for "GearOn," characterized as a "truck bed cargo system comprised of tiered storage cross rails, utility rack stanchions, cargo dividers and cargo tie down rings."
We have no idea what it will be or if we'll see it used on anything, but GM Authority reckons it could be GM's name for a pickup truck feature to rival the BoxLink system Ford introduced on the 2015 F-150. BoxLink has been described as having "dozens of configurations of stowable cargo ramps and lockable die-cast aluminum tie-down cleats," giving owners the ability to arrange the bed in they way they need and load unwieldy items like motorcycles without needing extra equipment.
Getting purely speculative, a month ago GM pickup truck engineers said there would be more and more regular updates for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra starting next year. Beyond the suspected capability and fuel economy changes GearOn could be one of the "neat things coming in a whole host of areas."
400,000 Chevy, GMC pickups recalled: Side airbags can explode
Fri, Jul 9 2021DETROIT — General Motors is recalling more than 400,000 pickup trucks in the U.S. because the side airbags can explode without warning and spew parts into the cabin. The recall covers certain 2015 and 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. Documents posted Friday by U.S. safety regulators say the airbag inflator can rupture or the end cap can fly off on both sides of the trucks. Documents say three inflators ruptured in 2015 Silverados last month, one in Florida and two in Texas. All three trucks were unoccupied at the time, and GM says it has no reports of injuries. Dealers will replace both side airbag modules. The company says it has a limited number of replacement parts available. Owners will be notified starting Aug. 16 and they'll get a second letter when parts are widely available. About 9,000 of the trucks were recalled last year for the same problem. The company says a manufacturing defect allowed moisture into the inflator while it was being manufactured, causing corrosion. The inflators were made in Mexico by Joyson Safety Systems, the company that took over Takata. Back in April, Silverado and Sierra were among nearly 750,000 GM vehicles in a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation into non-deploying driver-side airbags. That investigation is ongoing. Takata is responsible for the largest recalls in automotive history, covering about 100 million inflators among 19 major automakers worldwide, including about 67 million inflators in the United States. Nineteen deaths in the U.S. have been attributed to Takata inflators. Only about 50 million of the 67 million recalled inflators in the U.S. have been repaired. This latest recall is a good reminder to go to NHTSA's recalls website and enter your car's VIN. Millions of recalled vehicles still pose a danger to their owners. Yours could be one of them. GM's redesigned full-size 2021 SUVs face delay over coronavirus
Tue, Mar 31 2020As General Motors works to conserve cash for the coronavirus pandemic, the automaker reportedly told suppliers that it is postponing development of several future vehicles. The situation may cause GM to delay the launch of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban SUVs, which had been planned to roll out in April. The original launch plan for the redesigned full-size SUVs, which are some of the most profitable vehicles produced by GM, had called for production of the current models to end at its plant in Arlington, Texas, this week. After a retooling process, the redesigned SUVs were slated to begin production late in the month of April. In an email to suppliers viewed by Reuters and confirmed as authentic by GM, the automaker also said it was suspending development work on six future vehicle programs, including updates of the Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, Cadillac XT4, Bolt EV, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM said preproduction work on those programs would be pushed back to calendar year 2021, with most of the updated vehicles scheduled to be launched as 2022 models. According to the Detroit News, work has also been paused on the Chevy Camaro and a future version of the Corvette that has yet to be unveiled and wasn't planned for production during the 2020 calendar year. Last week, the automaker told employees and suppliers it was delaying work on some future vehicles while pushing ahead with near-term models such as its redesigned full-size SUVs and the GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Bolt EUV and Cruise Origin, as well as its new Ultium battery system. A GM spokesman who spoke with Reuters reiterated on Monday what the automaker had said last week — that the situation with its U.S. plants was "fluid" and that the automaker would "continue to evaluate" whether and when to reopen those plants on a week-by-week basis, with "employee safety" guiding that decision. GM said previously that it was closing most of its U.S. plants indefinitely. In its Monday email, GM asked suppliers to stop work on all pre-production tooling and pre-production parts manufacturing, but also not to dispose of any tooling or materials. GM told Reuters it had solicited volunteers from its workforce to finish the build-out of the current SUVs on a single shift in Arlington.
