1977 GMC K2500 SIERRA CLASSIC CUSTOM CAMPER PICKUP TRUCK

This low miles truck turns heads and gets thumbs up wherever it goes. Originally a western truck, this vehicle has spent most of its life in a dry climate (and its winters in the garage) and it shows. This classic GMC has been driven less than 4,000 miles per year on average since new (five-digit odometer shows (1)29,000 miles, having rolled over once; due to oversized tires, true miles are closer to 145,000; when speedometer shows 60 mph, true speed is 68 mph per GPS). Truck runs flawlessly -- I recently drove it 400 miles in one day and passed PA inspection as-is the next day (May 2014). Rebuilt Jasper Goodwrench 350 engine installed by top local certified shop in 2010. AC converted in 2013 and blows cold. 4WD and lock-out hubs work as they should.

There is minor rust bubbling along the lower driver's door edge. Other than that, it’s hard to find any rust on this vehicle. Rhino lining in very good condition, and included locking diamond plate tool box added in 2010 looks nearly new. The truck is repainted in its original colors but a style that is more representative of 1980s GM’s than its original factory paint scheme, yet it retains a very classic look. Fiberglass step-in running boards painted to match. The exhaust has a nice throaty rumble to it without sounding at all obnoxious. Toyo tires have aggressive tread resulting in moderate road hum. Dual gas tanks, approx 19 gallons each. Runs best on 89-91 octane.

Truck appears to have about a 2” lift. Amber running lights on top of cab, plus cab-operated spotlight (yes, it's legal). Dual gun rack in cab. Interior is clean and intact. Carpet is excellent. Factory tachometer. Factory cruise control is not hooked up. Typical heat cracks in dashboard but relatively minor (no holes). Indian blanket seat cover in nice shape and has not been removed in the 4 years I’ve owned the truck; original cloth seat cover underneath in unknown condition. Truck has not been smoked in -- ash tray looks new. New JVC stereo with remote and door speakers installed in 2013. Truck is "cold blooded" and needs about 3 minutes for the carburetor to warm up. This is a heavy-duty, heavy-weight, real-deal truck. It is a not a sport truck and it has not been abused or driven off road. The only material change that I've made to the body or cab is the installation of the wood trim steering wheel, which perfectly complements the interior. However the original steering wheel is included. Vehicle has original seat belts for three passengers, including two shoulder harnesses.

Truck is garaged in Carlisle, PA, the car show capital of the eastern US. I have greatly enjoyed this truck, I just have too many trucks and it's time to let this beauty go. The pictures say the rest. I am an eBay member for 14 years with 100% positive feedback. This is one of my personal vehicles -- I am not a dealer or broker. 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate comes with more style, most everything else

Tue, May 3 2022

First introduced on the Sierra line, the even more luxurious Denali Ultimate trim is coming to the 2023 GMC Yukon. It includes nearly every available feature for the regular Denali as standard, plus some unique design features. The Denali Ultimate is distinguished by its dark chrome grille and badging, features that cannot be added to any other Yukon model. It also gets the largest wheels yet for the Yukon: 22-inchers with painted, machined and polished sections. The interior is more impressive. Most of the surfaces are covered in leather, real wood and aluminum trim. The seat backs and the wood trim have topographical maps of Mount Denali. Metal badging is even added to the seat backs with the special trim level's name. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. As for features, the Denali Ultimate comes with basically everything that's standard as well as what's usually optional on the regular Denali including magnetic shocks, huge screens, an 18-speaker sound system and massaging seats, among others. So this is one of the rare times where it actually is easier to list what's either an additional feature or just a preference. Naturally you get a choice of colors, and the trim level can be added to either the shorter Yukon or the longer Yukon XL. The standard engine is the gas-powered 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0-liter turbodiesel straight-six is an option with 277 horsepower and the same amount of torque. Both are coupled to a 10-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. Super Cruise with towing and automatic lane change capabilities is another option, a rear-seat entertainment system and a towing package. And that's it. Pricing hasn't been announced, but it's pretty clear this will be the most expensive Yukon trim. The final numbers will be coming this June. Deliveries begin this fall.

Here are all the EVs with 800V charging available in 2024

Fri, May 31 2024

As technology advances, electric cars are improving their fast-charging times. That means less time spent waiting at a DC public charger when you’re out on the road. While Level 3 chargers used to provide a maximum of 150 kilowatts of power, 350-kW chargers are become more common, making for super-fast charging Â… if your car is capable of taking advantage of it. So how do automakers improve the charging speed of their EV batteries? Some are turning to higher voltage, specifically 800V charging. What's the difference between 800-volt charging and 400-volt charging? So how does 800V charging improve upon the more common 400V EVs? Put simply, the higher the voltage, the less amperage (current) it requires to charge. In other words, with more voltage, you get more wattage (power, aka charge rate) from the same amperage (current). 800V architecture is also more efficient, with less electrical resistance, so it can use thinner cables and smaller, lighter components while needing less cooling. The tradeoff is that it is more costly, and guess who that cost gets passed on to. While automakers don't break down their pricing to show how much more you're paying for that 800V system, you'll just have to evaluate any potential purchases as a whole, and make your decision based on overall pricing of the vehicle. Thankfully, the 800V EVs on sale now are generally ones we like. Now, 800V charging capability doesn't necessarily mean an EV has 800V vehicle architecture. For instance, the GMC Hummer EV and Chevy Silverado EV operate at 400V, but with their dual battery packs, can switch to 800V when charging by temporarily connecting those packs in series. Currently, there are only a handful of EVs available with 800V charging. But if you are going to find yourself taking longer trips in your EV and using DC fast chargers more often, you might want to consider choosing one with this faster charging capability. With that in mind, these are the EVs available with 800V charging, either on sale now or coming in 2024. 800-volt EVs available in 2024 Audi E-Tron GT Chevrolet Silverado EV Genesis GV60 Genesis Electrified G80 Genesis Electrified GV70 GMC Hummer EV Pickup GMC Hummer EV SUV GMC Sierra EV* Hyundai Ioniq 5 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Kia EV6 Kia EV9 Lotus Eletre* Lotus Emeya* Lucid Air Lucid Gravity* Porsche Macan Electric* Porsche Taycan Ram 1500 REV* Tesla Cybertruck *Coming later in 2024 Green Audi Chevrolet Genesis GMC Hyundai Kia Lotus Porsche Tesla Electric Lucid EV charging

New Toyota Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado/Canyon fight for midsize truck dominance

Sun, May 28 2023

Sam Wedll has been driving his Toyota Tacoma pickup on the rugged roads of Northern California for seven trouble-free years, racking up almost 100,000 miles, so he’s interested in the redesigned version of the truck coming later this year. He paid $34,000 for his truck in 2016, loading it with plenty of options. HeÂ’s eyeing the new gas-electric hybrid Toyota Motor Corp. is going to offer, but Wedll, who does his own repairs, isnÂ’t interested in paying luxury prices. “The hybrid is pretty interesting to me because I like the idea of the fuel efficiency,” says Wedll, 47, a casino operations manager in Blue Lake, California. “IÂ’m just trying to save some costs wherever possible.” The Tacoma, known as the Taco to its legions of loyalists, is the leader of the pack in midsize pickups, one of the fastest-growing auto markets of the past decade. With outdoorsy weekend warriors and do-it-yourselfers looking for a truck that could fit in their garage, sales of midsize pickups more than doubled from 2010 to 2020. General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co., which abandoned the market segment when sales slowed early this century, returned with new trucks to take on the Tacoma, which has dominated the medium truck market for almost two decades. Although it's easy to predict that the most lushly appointed versions of the new Taco could approach $50,000 (prices wonÂ’t be announced until later this year), Toyota insists it isnÂ’t backing away from budget buyers even as it rolls out fancier trucks. The current Tacoma starts at $28,030, and the company says affordability is critical to its success. In fact, Toyota will continue to offer the Taco with an old-school stick shift. The Tacoma controls 42% of the midsize truck market and outsells FordÂ’s offering 4 to 1. ThatÂ’s a role reversal from the full-size pickup market, where FordÂ’s F-Series has ruled the road for 46 years. Tacoma sales in the U.S. surpassed 237,000 last year, more than twice the number of GMÂ’s No. 2-ranked Chevrolet Colorado, according to consultant LMC Automotive. But as growth in the overall segment slows, the midsize market is developing into more of a turf war, with manufacturers vying for the sweetest highest-margin spots. “This segment is likely past its prime growth spurt,” says Jeff Schuster, president of the Americas for LMC Automotive.
