A SOLID 1989 GMC SIERRA 2500 SERIES FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK WITH A 7 1/2' MYERS POWER ANGLE SNOW PLOW. THIS TRUCK HAS A 350 ENGINE THAT RUNS AND DRIVES BUT WHEN IT WARMS UP THE OIL PRESSURE DROPS TO ABOUT FIVE POUNDS. I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS AND IT HAS SERVED ME WELL. THE TRANSMISSION IS THE GOOD TURBO 400 THREE SPEED AUTOMATIC THAT WAS REBUILT 7,400 MILES AGO. THE BODY AS GOOD FOR THE YEAR WITH A LITTLE BUBBLING ON THE CAB CORNERS THE 8 FOOT BED WITH A LINER IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND THE TAILGATE IS VERY NICE. RECENT WORK INCLUDED NEW FUEL TANK AND FUEL PUMP, SHOCKS, WATER PUMP, COMPLETE TUNE UP INCLUDING A NEW DISTIBUTOR, REBUILT TBI, EXHAUST WITH CATALITIC CONVERTER. THE POWER ANGLE SNOW PLOW AND PUMP WERE COMPETLY REBUILT AT A COST OF OVER $850.00 AND WERE ONLY USED ONE TIME SINCE. THIS TRUCK IS THE 8600 LB. 3/4 TON UNIT WITH AN ENGINE OIL COOLER, H.D. RADIATOR AND TRANS COOLER WITH AN AUXILLARY FAN, 3.73 GEAR RATIO, 34 GALLON FUEL TANK. THE AIR CONDITIONING STILL WORKS AND THERE IS A CLASS FIVE TRAILER HITCH. THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. THE ENGINE RUNS FINE AND IT DOES NOT SMOKE BUT WHEN IT WARMS UP AND THE OIL PRESSURE GETS LOW IT MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE BOTTOM END. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY FOR SOME TIME AND DOES NOT SEEN TO BE GETTING ANY WORSE. THE BUYER SHOULD ASSUME IT WILL NEED A REBUILD OR ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THIS WILL MAKE A GREAT PLOW TRUCK WITH A LITTLE WORK. FEEL FREE TO COME LOOK IT OVER IN RINGOES N.J. 08551

GM drops diesel engines for 2020 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers
Fri, Jul 12 2019GM is officially discontinuing the diesel engine in the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain for the 2020 model year. The 1.6-liter turbodiesel was always an oddball of an engine in the compact crossover segment, and now the experiment has come to an end. The Car Connection initially reported the news, and a GMC spokesperson, Stuart Fowle, confirmed it to us this morning. “A huge majority of our Terrain customers have opted for one of our two gas engines," says Fowle. We canÂ’t say this eventuality comes as a massive surprise, as we saw news from couple of months ago that GM was dropping all-wheel drive from the diesel-powered cars for 2020. Low demand was cited as the reason for that cull, and itÂ’s the same for the little GM crossovers this time around, too. These vehicles were the only ones powered with a diesel engine in their class, but thatÂ’s going to be changing. Just as GM is going away from the diesel, Mazda is finally bringing its diesel to market in the CX-5. YouÂ’ll only be able to get that engine in the most expensive ($42,045) trim level, combined with all-wheel drive, though. The cheapest Equinox diesel starts at a comparably low $30,795. ThatÂ’s a $2,400 upcharge over the base 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder, and the value is questionable. Mileage is better, but diesel fuel is more expensive. Towing capability didnÂ’t increase over the base engineÂ’s 1,500-pound capacity, but the extra torque around town was nice. As diesels go in the U.S., this one was rather rough and noisy, possibly contributing to some turning their noses up after a test drive. Perhaps another reason for its demise was that the much quicker 2.0-liter turbo Equinox was only $100 more than the diesel. This engine offered significantly better towing at 3,500 pounds, too. You can read all about what we thought of the diesel in our first drive review here, but the 2019 model year is the last one if you had it on your shortlist. GM's 2014 Trucks Receive Five-Star Crash Rating

The highly-anticipated 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 received Overall Vehicle Scores of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's New Car Assessment Program, the highest possible safety rating. They are the first pickup trucks to receive a five-star rating since more rigorous safety standards were implemented in 2011, according to Autoblog. General Motors said in a written release that new technologies, ultra-high-strength steels and six standard airbags helped the automaker improve the truck's performance in crashes. 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV revealed, priced the same as the truck
Sun, Apr 4 2021Following up on the 2024 GMC Hummer EV pickup truck's big reveal back in October is the SUV variant. And it looks pretty much the way you would expect. From roughly the doors forward, it's the same as the blocky pickup. But the back half now has an enclosed cargo area, a full-door tailgate and full-size spare mounted to it. Besides the tweaked looks, the SUV is physically shorter. The full dimensions haven't been revealed yet, but the wheelbase is 8.9 inches shorter than the truck at 126.7 inches total. The overall length is likely reduced even further, since the tail is much shorter than the truck's with the rear wheels close to the bumper. Both of these changes will greatly improve breakover and departure angles, plus make the vehicle generally more maneuverable on and off road. GMC boasts that with four-wheel-steering, the turning circle is just 35.4 feet, about a foot and a half tighter than the truck. This content is hosted by a third party. Higher EV3X and Edition 1 trims have three motors making 830 horsepower. Electric range varies between about 250 miles to 300 miles depending on specification. Extremely fast 800-volt, 300-kW DC fast charging is available and included on all but the base trim level. An Extreme Off-Road Package is available on EV2X and above that adds 18-inch wheels with 35-inch mud-terrain tires. You'll also be able to get the ground-clearance-increasing air suspension and four-wheel steering with the famous Crab Mode. Super Cruise will be standard on every GMC Hummer EV. Pricing and trim levels are nearly identical to the pickup truck, with only the Edition 1 varying. The base model starts at $79,995, and each trim and price is listed below. Prices are listed without the destination charge because that figure has not been revealed yet. EV2: $79,995 EV2X: $89,995 EV3X: $99,995 Edition 1: $105,595 ($110,595 with Extreme Off-Road Package) The Edition 1 SUVs will be available first with sales starting early next year. The EV2X and EV3X will go on sale that spring, and the base EV2 trims will go on sale in spring 2024. GMC is taking reservations now, and they can be made at this link.
