Gmc Sierra C1500 2003, Extended Bed on 2040-cars
Highland, Indiana, United States
|
Up for sale to highest bidder is my 2003 GMC Sierra, model C1500, V6 engine, automatic, regular cab, extended bed. Runs and drives great, exterior is in good condition (few minor dings and scratches), interior is clean, great a/c and heat, manual windows and doors. Only problem with vehicle is the dashboard is currently not working or lighting up (i was told its not an expensive fix, but it could take some time) Truck still runs fine, just the gauges and speedometer aren't coming on. Because the odometer is off I don't have an exact number on the mileage, but I got an oil change at 141,000 miles a couple months ago, and I haven't driven it much since then, so I approximate about 143-144,000 miles on the truck. One other issue is the driver's side airbag is missing (it deployed during a moderate accident about 2 years ago, truck sustained only some body damage which I had fixed, but I did not replace the airbag, steering wheel put back together over it). Any questions, or if you want to see more pics, or if you want to setup a test drive in Highland, IN (about 30 minutes SE of Chicago), email ajw100721@yahoo,com. Or call 219-239-6265 anytime after 2 PM. Must pay with cash upon pickup, no shipping.

GM will recall 3.5 million pickups and SUVs to fix brake issue
Wed, Sep 11 2019WASHINGTON — General Motors Co is recalling 3.46 million U.S. pickup trucks and SUVs to address a vacuum pump issue that could make braking more difficult and increase the risk of a crash. The recall, which covers 2014-2018 model year vehicles, including some Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon vehicles, was triggered because the amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time, GM told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in documents posted Wednesday. NHTSA opened a preliminary investigation into the issue in November 2018, and said it had reports of 9 crashes and two injuries related to the issue. It provided GM in July with additional field reports that prompted the automaker to open an investigation. The company did not immediately say on Wednesday how many injuries or crashes are linked to the issue but said it could impact braking in "rare circumstances." GM said dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module with a new calibration that will improve how the system utilizes the hydraulic brake boost assist function when vacuum assist is depleted. GM said the vacuum assist pump, which is lubricated with engine oil that flows into the pump through a filter screen, can in some cases lose effectiveness over time, as debris such as oil sludge can accumulate on the filter screen. GM told NHTSA that prior model years used a different brake assist system design, and vehicles manufactured after 2018 were not equipped with the affected pump design. Recalls Chevrolet GM GMC

GMC recalls 740,000 Terrains to address headlight issue
Tue, Mar 22 2022GM is recalling 740,581 of its 2010-2017 GMC Terrains to address an issue with their headlight lenses that allow intense beams of light to escape at certain angles. GM had petitioned the government for an exemption because the errant photons aren't being cast directly at oncoming drivers, but after a review, NHTSA denied the request, leaving the ball in GM's court. After taking time to "review NHTSA's decision and explore potential next steps," GM relented and announced a recall campaign. The Terrain's headlight design allows a narrow sliver of low-beam light to reflect off the inner surface of the high beam reflector, GM's defect report says. The reflections depart the lens at angles that don't make them directly hazardous to oncoming drivers, which is why GM petitioned for an exemption. However GM says the bright spots can cause glare or just be inherently distracting, either of which can cause problems on the road. Per NHTSA, these slivers are four times brighter than allowed for low-beam headlights. If you own a last-generation GMC Terrain, expect to start receiving notices about this recall in mid- to late April, however the company has not yet said exactly how the problem will be remedied. Current Terrain owners can rest easy, as 2018 and newer models have a completely different headlight assembly. Recalls GMC Ownership Safety Crossover SUV
