Watch this GMC pickup crash through a wall into a Florida airport terminal
Thu, Dec 19 2019A man in Florida has been accused of driving his pickup truck through airport grounds and through a wall into the airport's baggage area. It is unclear whether or not the incident was on purpose or an accident, but the shocking scene was captured by numerous cameras and angles. The driver sustained serious injuries but nobody inside the airport was hurt. The wild crash happened at the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport at about 3 a.m. on December 19, 2019, according to the Herald-Tribune. Reportedly, the 2015 GMC Sierra was seen driving erratically on a nearby highway earlier in the night, but officers were unable to catch the driver. The truck ended up driving through a chain-link fence, down a service road, and through a wall into the airport's main terminal. As seen in the clips, the truck smashed through the wall and hit a car rental service desk, behind which two people stood. Luckily, the secured desk prevented the truck from hitting the employees, and they escaped without any injuries. The area was mostly empty due to the late hour. In addition to the damage caused to the building, the truck also hit a luggage conveyor belt. Total damages are estimated to be around $250,000. GM pushing back on proposed pickup and SUV brake recall [w/poll]
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Through the first six months of 2014, General Motors has recalled 29 million cars and trucks in 54 different actions. If your author's notoriously sketchy math is correct, that'd work out to one recall every 3.5 days (as of this writing). GM is actively fighting to make sure there isn't a 55th recall, though.
Safety critics, including perennial nemesis Clarence Ditlow of the Center for Auto Safety, are calling on GM to recall a further six million pickup trucks and SUVs in northerly climes due to corroding brake lines caused by the use of road salt. There is a catch, here, though - the vehicles in question are over 10 years old, and include the 1999 to 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban and GMC Sierra, as well as the 2000 to 2003 Tahoe and Yukon (shown above).

Mon, Feb 26 2018GM's half-ton pickup line will be fully rounded up later this week when the new GMC Sierra 1500 is revealed. Though the unveiling is on March 1, GMC has provided a teaser of the new truck ahead of time on Twitter. It shows only the front fascia, but considering the Sierra's history of simply being a badge-engineered Silverado, it's arguably the most important angle of the truck. The teaser confirms a few things we were expecting based on past spy shots. The headlights look much more conventional than the Silverado's rather small units. The Sierra's grille, unlike the Silverado's, will also rise above the tops of the headlights, providing more of a big-rig appearance. We also finally get to see the GMC badge on the front of the Sierra, and it looks like it's an enormous rendition. As for the rest of the truck, previous spy shots have shown the Sierra will have other subtle styling changes from the Silverado. The wheel wells are shaped differently, and the taillights will be unique to the GMC. The interior of the new Sierra will look almost identical to that of the Silverado, with the exception of a few minor trim details. We also expect the Sierra to use the same engine lineup as the Chevy's, which at this point we know will consist of a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six, and naturally aspirated 5.3- and 6.2-liter V8s.
