This 1998 GMC Sierra K1500 SLE Extended Cab 4x4 is in very good condition with 111318 original miles. I have owned this truck since January of 2002. I bought this truck in Illinois and have rarely driven it in the winters on salty Illinois roads, hence the lack of typical frame and body rust that is common in the "rust belt". Since, I have moved to southern California where the truck now resides. The paint is the original Summit White that still shines bright, it has been waxed regularly. There are some areas of wear and tear, particularly above the right rear bumper, there is a ding as pictured. The interior is the gray cloth that is in very good condition. The truck was never smoked in. There is a 6-way electric adjustable drivers seat, both seats have electric lumbar support. The rear bench seat folds for extra room. The AM/FM radio, cassette, and CD player are all in working condition, and all the speakers are working as well. The AC blows cold and the heat works great too. The dash is in very good condition, just some very minor cracks around fasteners near the windshield. The power windows and locks along with the remote keyless entry are all working. The truck came equipped with the overhead console. I have performed all regular maintenance and any upgrades. All these records will be available to the buyer. The engine oil, transmission, differential(front and rear), chassis components, u-joints, ball joints have all been oiled or lubed with Mobil synthetic products since 2002. If you are familiar with the "R" model 5.7L engines you are aware of the intake manifold gasket's potential to eventually leak coolant. I have upgraded this gasket with the updated Felpro gasket. There are NO coolant leaks. The fuel pump was replaced last year as well as the fuel line to the fuel filter. I updated this fuel line with the newer nylon line instead of the steel line. The distributer cap and rotor, spark plug wires have been replaced. There is a K&N rechargeable air filter installed. The catalytic convertors were replaced with MagnaFlow stainless steel pipe and convertors mounted to true dual exhaust with two galvanized steel glass packs and chrome exhaust tips. The truck rides on a heavy-duty chassis with the heavy-duty trailering option that includes the factory installed transmission oil cooler. The axle ratio is 3.73 driving new Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac LT285/75R16 mounted on 16 aluminum wheels. Front rotors, calipers/pads, rear drums and brakes were all replaced. Brake lines to the rear wheels have been replaced. Two new front hubs were installed. The ball-joints show no play. The u-joints and center bearing on the driveline have been replaced with heavy duty u-joints and bearing. There is a 3 inch body lift professionally installed along with a very mild suspension lift. The 8 foot truck bed is great for hauling and with the included truck bed shell/topper you can keep those items out of the elements. The truck bed shell/topper is painted to match the trucks Summit White paint. The truck bed is equipped with the original plastic bed protector. Another special feature of this truck is the auxiliary battery capability, while not installed at this time, you can have two batteries hooked up for extra power and safety. This truck is not California compliant. The truck is 49 state legal. It passed the California emissions portion , but the catalytic convertors are 49 state, non-California compliant therefore it didn't pass the visual inspection. The truck passes Illinois emissions with no problem and I imagine it would pass any other state(ex. California) with no problems. There is no "service engine" light on. If there are any other questions regarding the truck please feel free to email those and I will respond as soon as possible. I prefer local pick-up for the truck but I would be happy to assist in delivery of the truck as long as transportation to the local major airport with airline service is provided. Buyer is responsible for cost of shipping and/or delivery. A $500 deposit is required upon winning bid, remainder of payment required with 7 days of auction closing. Cash, certified bank check are accepted. Personal check may be accepted but will require the check to clear before shipment and delivery. The truck will be sold "AS-IS". There is no existing or provided warranty. Mileage may be more than shown in listing as the truck is still driven. Bid with confidence! You will not be disappointed with this truck, it has been meticulously maintained as I take pride in having safe, reliable, and well-maintained vehicles. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!!!

Chevy Express, GMC Savanna reportedly ending production for 2025
Sat, Jul 2 2022The oldest commercial vans on the market may only have a few years left, according to a report from Autoweek. The news outlet cited a "competitive analysis source" in saying that the Chevy Express and GMC Savanna commercial vans would be discontinued after the 2025 model year. They would then be replaced by a new electric van, likely Ultium-platform based, for the 2026 model year. We reached out to GM for comment, and this is the official statement sent to us: "We have said in the past that as part of GM’s larger EV acceleration plans that we will add two new vehicles to our commercial portfolio. The first is a full-sized battery electric cargo van and the second is a medium-duty truck that will put both Ultium and our Hydrotec hydrogen fuel cell technology to work. We have not disclosed timing, names or shared any other details, so any articles reporting more are purely speculative." The GM vans are mighty old, having been introduced for the 1996 model year. They've barely changed since then, having received just some facelifts and updated powertrains over the years. And with GM's electrification plans, we're not surprised that these vans will be on the way out. We do have some disagreement about the reported timeline for replacement, though. We suspect that the upcoming electric vans will overlap with the old vans for at least a year. The reason being that there are a lot of these vans on the road, and there are a lot of pieces of equipment that fit them. Box vans, buses and more have components that have been designed for the Express and Savanna. If you're a fleet that has invested in these components, you might not be ready to shift over to a whole new platform. So GM will probably want to give fleet buyers one last opportunity to replace any old vans before committing entirely to a new electric van platform. It will also be interesting to see what kind of market the GM electric vans enter. Ford already has its electric Transit on the way, and Stellantis will be launching the Ram ProMaster electric van next year. Those are both based on existing gas-powered vans. And GM itself has already delivered the first of its larger BrightDrop EV600 electric vans to FedEx. The coming GM vans will likely be new platforms, which could give them performance and range advantages, though the Ford and Stellantis vans will have the advantage of being compatible with equipment for the gas variants.
GM tells 2021 Chevy Express and GMC Savana owners to park vans outside due to fire risk
Thu, Apr 1 2021GM is telling owners of certain 2021 Chevrolet Express and 2021 GMC Savana work vans to park them outside and away from other vehicles and structures due to a fire risk. Additionally, the company is recalling 10,154 of the vans it believes to be at risk of catching fire. The breakout is 7,891 for Chevy and 2,223 for GMC. Only vehicles equipped with the 6.6-liter V8 (the new-for-2021 engine option) are included in the recall, and it’s limited to vans produced on or prior to December 7, 2020. The problem stems from some anti-rotation tabs on the positive battery terminal that are too close to a fuse block assembly attachment post. This lack of clearance could cause the tabs to come into contact with the fuse block, causing a short circuit. GM points out that a short-circuit of this nature could cause battery drain or lead to a fire under the hood. Your warning for the time being will come in the form of a low battery voltage warning, or you might just wake up with an unexpected dead battery. GM says that it first opened an investigation into this problem on January 26 this year after it was notified of an underhood battery fire on a 2021 Express. The investigation found three other underhood fires and concluded that these fires were originating from the positive battery cable attachment near the fuse. This recall was officially posted on March 11 this year, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration just sent a notification out to the media yesterday. The fix is a relatively simple one. Dealers are going to remove a portion of the anti-rotation tab on both positive battery cable terminals near the fuse block assembly attachments. This increases the clearance and eliminates the risk of fire, GM says. The job will be done under warranty, and GM says it will begin contacting owners for recall work on May 3 this year. 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD All Mountain concept: Nothing stops it in its tracks
Wed, Nov 22 2017Winter may not be the best time for sports cars, but snow and ice can still provide a ton of fun in the right vehicle. The Porsche Macan GTS I had back in January was a riot in the snow, and it was wearing nothing more than a good set of winter tires. What you really need to conquer the frozen north is tracks. These replace wheels with the same sort of equipment that helps tanks and snowmobiles roll over damn near everything in their paths. That's what makes the 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD All Mountain concept so awesome. That and the 910 pound-feet of torque from the 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel V8. The All Mountain concept is set to debut this week in Veil, Colorado, home to ski slopes, log cabins and nearly year-round snow pack. The truck is based off a standard GMC Sierra 2500HD. The turbo-diesel V8 makes 445 horsepower in addition to the mountain of torque. Power is sent to all four corners through an Allison 1000 six-speed automatic. The new treads come courtesy of Mattracks. The 150 Series tracks aren't cheap — well into five figures with installation — but they give you a nice 16-inch surface at each corner. Other changes and add-ons include graphics on the bodywork, a RIGID E-Series 30-inch light bar, LEDs on the wheel well and underbody, Thule snowboard racks, a roll-up tonneau cover and a new speaker system from Kicker. The truck will stay on display in Veil all winter, though a similar concept will be making its way to various auto shows, starting with Los Angeles next week.
