This is my 1984 GMC High Sierra 1500, regular cab short bed 4x4 in pristine condition!

The A/C and Cruise Control still work and best of all it only has 117k original miles.  It has the original 5.0 liter 305 4brl that has never been modified and new dual exhaust.  It runs very smooth.  It has an automatic with overdrive and like new off road tires.

In 2010 I had the paint redone and spared no expense.  I replaced the bumpers, grill and mirrors too.  It turned out very well.  It has power windows and locks and cruise control, and a new tinted sliding rear window.  All the weather strip rubber was replaced as well as the windshield chrome trim and rubber seal.  The passenger window motor still works but is slow.  The interior is in good condition overall for a 29 year old truck.  The door panels are a bit faded and there is a crack in the center of the dash.  The seat is in good condition.  I replaced both fuel tanks as well as the dash switch and the valve module that actually swaps the input to the fuel system from one tank to the other.  I replaced the tool box about a year ago and it has a spray in type bed liner.   It has a receiver trailer hitch with 5 pin adapter.  This is a solid rust free truck that has never seen salt or off road use.  I've started to see a puff of smoke at cold starts lately so it might be getting close to time to do valve guide seals, but she still runs great and it isn't a big distraction.

This truck is being sold as is where is.  No warranty, No refunds.  The pictures tell the story.  This is a very solid truck that looks almost brand new.  I have done my best to accurately describe the vehicle in its current state but I’m no car expert.  You may find things that I’m not aware of.

Again this was my late father-in-law’s truck and has been in my wife's family for many years.  PLEASE know that I’m not so pressured to sell that I need to give it away so don’t bother trying to low ball me.  If it does not sell for what I have in it then I’d be happy to leave it in the garage until one of my kids is old enough to drive it.

I live in close proximity to an interstate and will be happy to deliver the truck to a car shipping company at a pre-arranged pickup location so long as it is within 25 miles from my house and all the money is in my hands prior to delivery.   Actual shipping cost is the responsibility of the winning bidder.  Use zip code 23323 to calculate shipping estimates.  I accept cash or PAYPAL.  Funds must clear before I will deliver the truck!

The history report shows an accident from 2007.  My mother-in-law scraped the side of a car with the front bumper while pulling into a parking space at the grocery store.  The lady called the cops and made them do a report and claimed it on my insurance.  Other than a scratch on the corner of the bumper there was no damage done to the truck in any way.  This is easily verified by looking at the truck in person.

GMC Canyon next generation previewed with off-road AT4X trim

Thu, Apr 14 2022

GMC is preparing to give the Canyon, its smallest and most affordable pickup, a complete makeover. While we won't see the truck for a few months, the company released a preview image to give us an idea of what to expect and confirmed the lineup will include an AT4X model. Although the teaser keeps most of the sheetmetal hidden, the truck appears to receive a more chiseled hood and concave door skins that should make it look less slab-sided. The fenders are eye-catching as well: They're more punched-out that the current-generation model's. Keep in mind that we're looking at the AT4X trim, which will be positioned as the off-road champion of the range and should consequently get a brawnier-looking design. Other off-road goodies include big Goodyear Wrangler tires wrapped around 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, plastic wheel arch flares, and rock rails. GMC is keeping additional details under wraps, but we're guessing suspension tweaks are part of the package as well. After all, the current-generation AT4 benefits from a one-inch suspension lift and skid plates, among other upgrades. This isn't the first time we've seen or heard of the Canyon AT4X. Our spy photographers caught a camouflaged prototype that looks taller and considerably more rugged than the AT4 in July 2021, and the Canyon AT4 OVRLANDX concept introduced in August 2021 seemingly previewed some of the features that will trickle down to the production model, including the rock rails and wheel arches. GMC will unveil the next-generation Canyon this summer, and we expect to hear more about it in the coming weeks. And, if a new Canyon is around the corner, that likely means that the next Chevrolet Colorado isn't far behind. Both will compete directly against the new Ford Ranger, which has only been unveiled for overseas markets as of writing and which will spawn a range-topping, V6-powered Raptor. Another competitor the duo will need to fend off is the Nissan Frontier, which got its first update since the 2005 model year for 2022. Already offered on the 2022 Sierra, the outdoorsy AT4X trim will spread across the GMC range in the coming years. Nothing is official yet, but earlier spy shots strongly suggest that the Sierra Heavy Duty will be treated to the AT4X treatment in the not-too-distant future. GM crab walked the Hummer EV truck up and down Woodward this weekend

Mon, Aug 23 2021

Sometimes, manufacturers like to show off their fancy new wares at the Woodward Dream Cruise. It’s largely done through static showcases with big displays for the public to gawk at. However, GM did something a little different with its GMC Hummer EV truck this year. Instead of parking it at the Chevy and GM display area, it took to Woodward Avenue itself to show off the Hummer in pre-production form. Not only did GM drive the electric truck on the road in front of thousands, but it crab walked the whole way. This was our first time, and probably most of the publicÂ’s first time seeing the Hummer EV crab mode in person. Judging from the crowdÂ’s reaction (GM got its wish of everybody paying attention), folks are impressed, and maybe a bit confused at the HummerÂ’s sideways movements.  ItÂ’s a strange spectacle to see in person. At first, the truck appears as though itÂ’s sliding sideways on ice in a smooth, graceful slide. ThatÂ’s because even though the wheels are turned, the front of the truck is still pointing dead straight ahead. The GM employee behind the wheel of the prototype appeared to be moving forward at about 5-10 mph — it appears shockingly quick in person for the way this behemoth of a truck presents itself. The tech making it work is rather simple in concept. GM simply took existing rear-wheel steering technology, then amplified and modified it for this type of movement. Whereas most cars with rear-wheel steering max out at around 5 degrees of lock with the rear wheels, this Hummer can turn the wheels up to 10 degrees. Turn the wheel left or right in crab mode, and the Hummer moves diagonally down the street. If you use it for its intended purpose, crab mode is meant to help you navigate the Hummer through trails it might otherwise be too big to fit through using regular steering. In reality, we suspect most folks might use crab mode in the exact same fashion as GM did this past weekend: to impress people. And honestly, we canÂ’t blame them. It was a seriously cool sight to see. Crab mode in action: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
