Selling my 1997 GMC Hightop Conversion Van. As you can tell by the pictures, this van is in very good condition and I will try my best to describe it accurately. We just returned from an over 1400 mile trip to Florida and the van never missed a beat. I would not be afraid to take off anywhere at anytime in it. We had two adults and four teenagers plus loaded full of luggage and it still got around 18 mpg going 75 mph. This van stayed parked in the same spot for five days after we returned home and there was one very small spot underneath it and that's it!!

At 167921 miles a new Jasper Engine was added on 9/18/2013. Inlcuded in that I have paperwork along with the identifying papers and numbers to Jasper. Just before we left for Florida I had the transmission completely flushed and all fluids installed. Also had complete cooling flush. Also I had 2 brand new Goodyear Viva 2 215/75/R15 tires put on so they only have about 1500 miles on them. The rear tires are about 80 to 85%.  Temperature always remains the same at 180F. All new windshield wipers installed a month ago. New vent visors, New headlights, New side lights and new parking lamps just added before vacation. Also new window tint.

Inside is the coldest air for front and rear. Rear air system is a Pro-Air 134. And truly is the coldest air I have ever had on any car. All systems in good working order. AM/FM Cassette CD and best of all is newer model Legacy LMR1344 monitor with Emerson DVD. Along with those it comes with 4 sets of infra-red wireless headphones and both remote controls. So if you got kids and going on a trip stop by Redbox and the only thing you hear from them is when they bust out laughing. :)

I also took pictures of all the bad. Has small crack in dash. Otherwise dash in good condition. Rear bumper on drivers side has scrape. Small dent below mid drivers side window. The drivers seat has wear on it from getting in and out and all other interior is in good condition. The passenger side window rolls down fine but often needs help getting back up. Probably needs new motor just never did really need it. As usual the clearcoat on the top is coming off. Carpet is kind of faded in spots but is clean. Two small spots in windshield and one of those I could barely get to show up.

This van is road ready and I have a bunch more pictures if there is something else you would like to see. And please feel free to call or email with any concerns or questions you may have. I will be more than happy to assist with delivery so just ask and we can work that out. Open to interesting trades although cash is king. Thanks. (731)-225-7941

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon order guides reveal added power

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

General Motors' Fleet Order Guide system is often the canary in the coal mine for interesting changes on new models. The recent guide for the 2015 Corvette unveiled all sorts of changes that weren't yet known about the sports car. Now, it's time for the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon to take their bow in the spotlight, and they look worth the wait. The new midsize trucks are getting a touch more power than first thought, as well as some very nice features.
Extended Cab models of both trucks come standard with a 2.5-liter, direct-injected four-cylinder rated at 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. That's a bit more than the 193 hp and 184 lb-ft originally reported for the duo. The standard transmission for the extended trucks is a six-speed manual, but the Work Truck trim is also available with an optional six-speed automatic. Towing for the four-cylinder is rated at 3,500 pounds.
Crew Cab models come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 hp at 6,800 rpm and 269 lb-ft of torque at 4,300 rpm, with a six-speed automatic. That's also somewhat different than the originally reported rating of 302 hp and 270 lb-ft. Towing for the V6 is rated at 7,000 pounds.

Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon get trim levels reworked again

Sun, Mar 22 2020

GM Authority reports that GM has fiddled with trim packages on the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon for the 2021 model year, eliminating the base trims on both pickups and implementing small price changes. When the new model year goes on sale, the Chevy will lose the rear-wheel drive Base Extended Cab with the automatic transmission that starts at $22,395 after a $1,095 destination charge. The new entry-level is going to be the Work Truck model with the extended cab in rear-wheel drive, starting at $26,595 assuming the destination charge holds steady. That represents a $4,200 jump over the base 2020 model. MSRPs for the entire Work Truck lineup, from base to the Crew Cab Long Box, rise by $400. Elsewhere in the Colorado line, the four Z71 trims go down by $100, while the two ZR2 trims increase by the same amount. Only the six LT trims don't see any change.  The GMC side is a bit more involved due to previously announced changes. The 2020 Canyon comes in SL, Base Canyon, SLE, SLT, All Terrain, and Denali steps. Last month, GM Authority reported the 2021 Canyon would give all that up for the new names Elevation Standard, Elevation, AT4, and Denali. Since the SL base model retires in 2021, the Elevation Standard takes over at the entry level. Unlike on the Colorado, which sheds one trim, the Canyon lineup gets pared from 20 total combinations of trims, cab sizes, and bed lengths, to 14 total combinations. But like the Colorado, due to the loss of the cheapest configuration, the least expensive 2021 Canyon becomes $4,200 more expensive than in 2020, assuming the destination price remains the same. What's more, the 2021 Elevation Standard pricing adds $700 or $800 to the prices of the 2020 Canyon base and SLE models. There are more increases up the range. The 2021 Elevation trim replaces a combination of SLE and SLT models, bumping prices up by up to $900. In 2020, the least expensive All Terrain model is the Extended Cab Cloth for $37,695. For next year, the least expensive AT4 trim is the Crew Cab Short Box for $39,295. Like-for-like, though, the AT4 represents a $300 premium over the 2020 All Terrain Crew Cab Short Box. Three Denali trims will still stand at the top of the heap, each one going up by $400 in 2021. Until GM details the equipment changes, we won't know how the new pricing equates to value.
