Very nice GMC Jimmy Sierra Grande 4x4.  I purchased this Jimmy from the second owner for the purpose of giving to my daugther who thought she wanted a big truck.  Spent tons of money getting everything to work.  The truck is from arid Western Washington and is as rust free as these trucks get.  Has tiny amount of rust in the rocker panels.  Underneath and body panels are solid.

This is a true, no reserve auction.  Not a BS auction from many dealers on eBay who have fake bidders.  This vehicle will sell.  I will let the marketplace determine what it should go for.

Has a factory, original 350 motor (not the weaker 305 that many CA cars have.)  Here is a list of the work that was recently done to this K5 Jimmy:
  • All new interior, which includes carpet, headliner, dash, and panels.  The seats are in amazing original condition.
  • New A/C compressor (blows cold).
  • Brand new dual exhaust.
  • New plugs and wires with recent tune up.
  • $1600 worth of BRAND NEW wheels and tires.  (Tires have 10 miles on them.)
  • Rear Diff and transfer case service.
  • New manual hub lockers.
  • New Alpine CD w/Kicker speakers and front jack for iPhone
Other hightlights:
  • All gauges work.
  • Interior dome lights work.
  • Original rust-free body panels
  • Heater blows hot; updated AC blows cold.
  • Tons of low-end torque for off roading.
  • Turn signals and tail lights work.
  • Trailer tow package.
  • All original factory glass.  Rear tail gate glass rolls up and down smoothly.
  • Removable fiberclass top.
  • Factory tire jack.  (Usually missing)
Minor issues:
  • Motor has a lifter noise which quiets down after warming up.  Doesn't affect performance.  Just drove to Utah and SoCal and back to Vegas.
  • Leaks oil around the pan as many of these trucks do
  • There is a crack on the rear tail gate. Tail gate raises and lowers fine.
  • Has original paint that is beginning to fade on the front fenders.
  • Some of the aluminum body molding have dents and dings.
Overall, this is a great truck for the weekend warrior, a teenager's first truck or to take camping.  I bought it for my teenager daughter, dumped a bunch of money into it only to learn it's just too big for her.   Lots of money spent making it safe and reliable.

I have bought and sold over 20 cars on ebay and as you will see from my feedback, I have 100% feedback since 1999. I am happy to answer questions or arrange inspections. Vehicle is located in Las Vegas area.  Fly in and drive home.  Call or text with questions.  949-274-5885.

400,000 Chevy, GMC pickups recalled: Side airbags can explode

Fri, Jul 9 2021

DETROIT — General Motors is recalling more than 400,000 pickup trucks in the U.S. because the side airbags can explode without warning and spew parts into the cabin. The recall covers certain 2015 and 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. Documents posted Friday by U.S. safety regulators say the airbag inflator can rupture or the end cap can fly off on both sides of the trucks. Documents say three inflators ruptured in 2015 Silverados last month, one in Florida and two in Texas. All three trucks were unoccupied at the time, and GM says it has no reports of injuries. Dealers will replace both side airbag modules. The company says it has a limited number of replacement parts available. Owners will be notified starting Aug. 16 and they'll get a second letter when parts are widely available. About 9,000 of the trucks were recalled last year for the same problem. The company says a manufacturing defect allowed moisture into the inflator while it was being manufactured, causing corrosion. The inflators were made in Mexico by Joyson Safety Systems, the company that took over Takata. Back in April, Silverado and Sierra were among nearly 750,000 GM vehicles in a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation into non-deploying driver-side airbags. That investigation is ongoing. Takata is responsible for the largest recalls in automotive history, covering about 100 million inflators among 19 major automakers worldwide, including about 67 million inflators in the United States. Nineteen deaths in the U.S. have been attributed to Takata inflators. Only about 50 million of the 67 million recalled inflators in the U.S. have been repaired. This latest recall is a good reminder to go to NHTSA's recalls website and enter your car's VIN. Millions of recalled vehicles still pose a danger to their owners. Yours could be one of them.   Recalls Chevrolet GM GMC airbag Takata airbag recall

Chevy Tahoe-to-K5 Blazer conversion shop renders Jimmy option

Sat, Feb 20 2021

Back in 2019 we told you about a truck that looked like a K5 Chevy Blazer, but was actually a modern late-model Tahoe underneath. It was the product of Arkansas shop Flat Out Autos, which reskinned modern GM full-size SUVs to look like their predecessors. Now, the same shop is planning to release a GMC version, converting Yukons to Jimmys. We were impressed by Flat Out's workmanship, beautifully blending the lines of the Blazer into those of the Tahoe. The result was a cohesive design, not just a panel swap. It clearly required a lot of work, which helped justify the $69,000 price tag, not including the cost of the donor Tahoe. FlatOut Autos GMC Blazer Tahoe reskin 01 View 11 Photos At least one new owner was so impressed that they recently purchased four identical Blazer conversions at once. The quadruplets were all finished in blue with a white roof and all based on brand-new 2020 Tahoes. Obviously, with such demand it was only natural for Flat Out to explore other options. On Facebook the company said it was working on a 1972 version with an eggcrate grille. Now, they've also released a rendering paying homage to the K5 GMC Jimmy. The Jimmy conversion uses the original's quad-headlight face, crosshair grille and GMC badging. Like the Blazer conversion, it adds chrome bumpers and milled door handles while adapting the original's 2-door design to the new truck's 4-door body. The rendering only shows the front three-quarter view, but presumably a new carbon fiber rear door would have to be created as the Blazer's says "Chevrolet" across the back. Flat Out says that all the modern conveniences found on the donor Tahoe will work on the conversion, including parking, blind spot and lane keeping sensors. If you have the coin, it's a great way to have retro style without giving up modern safety and performance. The new Blazer has been disappointing to many fans that had hoped for a Bronco-like SUV. Instead, GM gave us a crossover. The Flat Out conversions might be a good compromise, and expanding it to the GMC brand only makes sense. Obviously there's no requirement to use a GMC Yukon as the donor vehicle for the Jimmy, as it's functionally identical to a Tahoe, but wouldn't you want to keep it in the family? Related Video:

2019 GMC Sierra AT4 First Drive Review | Off-road overkill

Wed, Jan 23 2019

The road ahead is dirt with a rut here and a rock there. Brush keeps a respectable distance on the right side, the edge on the left gradually falls away into the valley below. The grade is nothing your treadmill couldn't duplicate and traction is pretty good. Honestly, a couple in their Subaru Crosstrek could pop up here for a picnic. The 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 we're driving is therefore complete overkill. But at least it looks the part as it trudges up this uncharacteristically verdant mountain with San Diego in the distance to the north and Mexico to the south. Its special, dechromed AT4 grille has a purposeful appearance, but tastefully lacks the show-off machismo of Ford and Ram's off-roading models. The red tow hooks are a nice touch and the dark-accented 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber are just the right size beneath a suspension that is raised an extra 2 inches from every other Sierra. That would be one of the key elements that differentiates the AT4 as the Sierra's off-roading model – GMC's answer to the Chevy Silverado's Trail Boss trims. In fact, their mechanical enhancements are identical. Besides the 2-inch lift, the suspension features off-road-tuned Rancho monotube shocks. There's also a locking rear differential, a two-speed transfer case, skid plates and those tow hooks. The 5.3-liter V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management is similarly standard, but unlike the Silverado Trail Boss, the Sierra AT4 offers the 6.2-liter V8 good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque as a roughly $2,500 option. That's the engine we have and it delivers the expected punch, complete with a satisfyingly snarling exhaust note. However, as observed in back-to-back drives with these two available engines during the Silverado launch, the 6.2 certainly isn't necessary. The 5.3-liter is seriously capable and the bigger engine is largely for those who want to have the biggest number possible emblazoned on the fender. It's overkill, which in this particular environment, is fitting. Besides the available engine upgrade, the AT4 also goes beyond its Trail Boss counterpart by dipping into the Sierra Denali's tool box. Its MultiPro tailgate is standard equipment, allowing for six different configurations, the most notable of which include a means of more easily reaching into the bed and a drop-down step that eases entry into the bed. GMC's considerable touting of that last element is rife with hypocrisy given GM advertisements that mocked Ford's similar feature.
