Very Nice 1982 Gmc 1500 Long Bed Pickup Truck! 2wd 6 Cylinder. on 2040-cars
Sullivan, Indiana, United States
Hello! You are bidding on a very nice 1982 GMC C 1500 pickup truck 4.1 liter 6 cylinder Automatic. Very rare to find one in this good of condition! Truck was long time owned by an elderly man who always kept it in his garage and drove it little. He passed away in the early 90's and it hadn't been moved since before then until I recently purchased it from the estate. I pulled it out of his garage after it having been sitting for more than 12 years covered up! Everything works! Transmission seems to work fine. I have recently done the following:
*Put on new front brake calipers *New front brake pads *New hoses *New fuel pump and lines *Pulled off gas tank and cleaned it out *Fuel sending unit has been checked as well as fuel strainer and they are in good shape. Tires are still in nice shape, all hold air! Very little rust on frame as well. This is a VERY solid truck! Interior is in nice shape. There's no cracks in the dashboard. This will make someone a very nice project truck. All it needs is a little TLC! I also have all the paperwork for this truck going all the way back to the first owner! 62197 original miles! WOW! Selling as is. I encourage interested parties to come see it themselves, or have a mechanic stop by. I'm describing to the best of my knowledge. I'm no expert, but I think just a few hundred dollars and this classic truck will be road ready. I really don't want to sell it, but I do not have the time to work on it, and I don't have a garage to put it in to keep it out of the elements for the winter. It needs what I can't give it right now. Truck's also going to be going up for sale locally so the auction may be canceled early. If you'd like to see more pics, want to see in person or have other questions, message me. Truck is located in Sullivan, IN. Happy bidding! |

2014 GMC Sierra 4.3L V6 to offer segment-best 305 LB-FT
Mon, 06 May 2013General Motors has released more information on the 4.3-liter V6 available in the 2014 GMC Sierra. The engine will serve up 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque, with a six-speed automatic transmission, and giving the V6 Sierra a maximum tow rating of 7,200 pounds in regular cab, short bed four-wheel drive configuration. GM claims that figure is 500 pounds more than the equivalent Ford F-150 equipped with a 3.7-liter V6, and 700 pounds more than the Ram 1500 with its 3.6-liter V6. Buyers can expect to see the 2014 GMC Sierra with the 4.3-liter engine start at $25,085 including destination.
While the engine does deliver more torque than either of its main competitors, it falls short on the horsepower front. The 3.7-liter V6 in the F-150 develops 302 hp while the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500 yields 305 hp. GM says fuel economy estimates for its newest entry will land later this year. GM doubles miles open to its Super Cruise technology
Wed, Aug 3 2022DETROIT — General Motors said on Wednesday owners of certain vehicles equipped with its Super Cruise assisted driving system will now be able to use it on 400,000 miles (643,740 km) of North American roads, doubling the current operating area as Tesla and other automakers race to deploy hands-free cruising technology. GM's Super Cruise system, like Tesla's Autopilot system, is a driver assistance system, and does not enable true autonomous driving. Spurred by Tesla's aggressive deployment of Autopilot, and Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk's promises of a more advanced "Full Self Driving" system, GM, Ford, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz are racing to deploy competing partial automation technology in major markets. At the same time, safety regulators are showing concern that drivers do not understand that Autopilot and similar systems are not designed to take over driving in every circumstance. The GM system's sensors and software allow a motorist to cruise with hands off the wheel on highways that have been mapped in detail. But the driver is expected to stay alert and ready to take over the car. GM uses technology to monitor the driver, and Super Cruise will sound alarms or slow the car to a stop if it detects that a driver is not responding. Starting later this year, GM plans to enable vehicles equipped with Super Cruise and the company's latest vehicle electronic system to operate hands-free on major, undivided highways in the United States and Canada, as well as additional miles of divided, interstate highways. Currently, Super Cruise operates only on interstate, divided highways. The expansion, enabled by wider digital mapping, will allow owners of properly equipped GM vehicles to cruise hands-free on stretches of Route 66 and the Pacific Coast Highway in the U.S. West or the Trans-Canada highway in Western Canada, GM said. Many of the new roads GM has mapped are in rural, heartland states where GM pickup trucks are popular. GM plans to offer Super Cruise as an option on its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra large pickups later this year. GM has said previously it intends to offer Super Cruise as an option on 22 models by the end of 2023. Depending on the model, Super Cruise costs $2,200 to $2,500 to add as an option.
