1991 GMC Jimmy:  This is an exceptionally clean, original Jimmy with 84,000 actual miles.  I bought the truck four years ago from the original owner; it was purchased new in Durango, Colorado which has a high-desert climate.  Thus, the truck still has its original body panels which are in outstanding condition (no rust issues).  I have carefully maintained and restored this truck over the past four years and as shown in the pictures it is in awesome condition.  The interior is in mint condition with a new GM dash pad (the original was cracked due to sun damage), bezels, and carpet.  Note, I removed the center console which is in excellent condition and will go with the truck. The exterior is in outstanding condition with new GM molding and weatherstripping.  Everything on the Jimmy works properly.  It runs well, drives great, and rides smoothly.

This Jimmy has the original engine which has been serviced but never removed.  The transmission was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago so shifts like new.  I have done a complete mechanical restoration (brakes, steering linkage, ball joints, serviced front hub bearings, converted AC to R-134, etc.).  This Jimmy has been correctly restored to original specs using GM parts.  Very few Jimmys or Blazers are this nice.  Everything works so the truck is ready to drive and enjoy.

This is the SLE model and has all available options including 350 V8 engine, 4L60 automatic transmission, 4 wheel drive with factory auto-locking hubs, 342 ratio posi-traction rear differential, 31 gallon fuel tank, power brakes, power steering, power windows including rear tailgate, power locks, power side mirrors (only available in '90 and '91 models), cruise control, intermittent wipers, AM/FM radio, AC, deluxe interior trim, deluxe exterior moldings, towing package including electronic brake controller, transmission and oil coolers, and sliding windows in factory hard top.

This late-production (last model year) Jimmy should not be confused with early Jimmys and Blazers.  The late production models were more refined and powerful.

This is my personal vehicle, and I have sold other cars and parts on ebay for over 10 years with a 100 percent satisfaction rating so bid with confidence.  I encourage inspections and welcome your questions.

Thank you and good luck.

I received a couple of questions so wanted to post this additional information.  A couple of individuals have asked about the paint and body.  When I purchased the Jimmy about four years ago, it had the original paint which was nearly baked off in several areas due to the sun.  The body had no damage or rust; it simply needed to be painted.  Thus, I had the body painted dark red and topper painted black.  Also, the weatherstrip was also cracked so I installed new (NOS) GM weatherstrip on the doors, topper, and tailgate.  I spent about $7,000 on the paint, molding, weatherstrip, etc.  NOS GM parts are more expensive but I wanted to keep the truck original and correct.

GM opens military discount to 21M veterans and their spouses

Thu, Apr 7 2016

May marks the start of National Military Appreciation Month, and General Motors is getting into the spirit by expanding its military discount program to, well, just about everyone. That includes a total of 21 million military veterans and their spouses, along with the current slate of active duty, reserve, and National Guard members. The discount can slash thousands of dollars off the price of a new Buick, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicles, with Automotive News listing an $1,100 discount on the top gas-powered version of the Malibu, the Premiere. Those that want a bit more spice can get $1,700 off the price of a last-generation 2015 Camaro SS, while truck buyers will enjoy $3,000 off the Chevy Silverado All Star. That's just a start, though, since the military discount can be paired with other GM incentives. The discount doesn't apply to everything, though. Some are understandable – none of Cadillac's vehicles are included in the deal, nor is the Corvette Z06. You'll also be unable to apply the discount to a range of base-level trims, like the Chevy Cruze or Equinox L, the base Colorado, or the entry level GMC Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain. A full list is available at GM's dedicated military discount website. GM's expanded discount plan runs from today through May 31. Junkyard Gem: 1990 GMC S-15 Jimmy 4x4

Wed, Jan 1 2020

The General sold the GMC-badged version of the first-generation Chevy S-10 Blazer, known as the S-15 Jimmy or just the Jimmy, from the 1982 through 1994 model years. These trucks were based on the small S-10 pickup and sold well (until small trucks were forced to get bigger and less truck-like after the dawn of the Ford Explorer-inspired commuter-truck era), but they have become difficult to find in vehicle graveyards in our current century. Here's a '90 Jimmy 4x4 with red-primer paint job, found in a self-service yard on California's Central Coast last month. GMC shoppers could get the 1990 Jimmy as a rear-wheel-drive truck, but this one has the four-wheel-drive option that allowed Tahoe-bound skiers to skip the chain monkeys on the way to the slopes (the CHP, understanding that California drivers have a 95% mortality rate on snow or ice, requires chains or four-wheel-drive to get over Donner Pass when there's a hint of snow forecast). GM sold so many millions of small-block Chevrolet V8s that it made economic sense to use the same tooling to produce a V6 version. The result was this truck's 4.3-liter V6 that was three-quarters of the good old Chevy 350 (5.7-liter) V8 that powered so many Camaros, Chevelles and Impalas. The 4.3 didn't make smooth power, but it got the job done and held together quite well. This one was rated at 160 horsepower, good enough for the Jimmy 4x4's 3,512-pound curb weight. These days, though, used-truck shoppers insist on at least two tons of heft plus four doors. Some discount lot in Monterey or Salinas couldn't even get $999 for this truck, and so it ended up in the final stop before the cold steel jaws of the crusher. 1990 was the last model year for the two-door-only Jimmy; for 1991, the Jimmy came with a choice of two doors (for devil-may-care types) or four doors (for drop-the-kids-at-school types). I've always liked the look of the instrument panels on the early S-10s and its siblings; even though the designers had to work within strict budgetary limitations, they made the panels look interesting. This truck nearly made it to 170,000 miles before the end. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. So powerful with the 4.3 (the regular S-15 pickup still came with a 2.8-liter V6 as base equipment) that it could destroy a TV camera.

2023 GMC Sierra AT4X could swipe a few parts from the AT4X AEV

Thu, Jul 21 2022

GM recently expanded its collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles beyond the Bison herd with the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV. This Jimmy takes matters further than the standard AT4X by increasing ground clearance, approach and departure angle, and breakover angle, improvements made possible by new stamped steel bumpers and a set of 33-inch mud-terrain tires wrapping 18-inch AEV Salta wheels. GM Authority says the AT4X AEV won't be the only Sierra to get special parts, crediting sources for the news that the standard 2023 Sierra AT4X will get some of the equipment from the special trim. According to the report, at some point for the coming model year, the off-road-focused Sierra will bolt on the AEV's stamped steel front and rear bumpers, stamped steel front skid plate, and 33-inch Goodyear mud terrains. If this is true, it's an intriguing move; the equipment list is nearly everything found on the proper AEV model. Going by that list, the only bits left off would be four additional skid plates, wheels, gloss black door handles, gloss black tailgate accent, and AEV logos. Judging from the GMC retail website, the grille that debuted on the AT4X AEV will also be on the standard AT4X.  GMC hasn't announced pricing for the 2023 range yet. The pickup will be carryover, but we would expect various well-known issues to increase the $78,300 price of the regular AT4X over the 2022 model. GMA believes "it's reasonable to assume" that a standard 2023 Sierra AT4X with some AEV parts would go up even more, whenever it hits the market — and this is on top of the Sierra's $1,500 price increase from making OnStar standard equipment. And after that, of course, the proper AT4X AEV would be more again.
