WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY 2004 GMC ENVOY. FIRST YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT THE MOTOR WAS REPLACED IN 2011 AND HAS LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON IT. ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT PERFECT, IT IS A BEAUTIFUL LOOKING VEHICLE THAT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS MANY LESS MILES ON IT. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH POWER LOCKS, POWER WINDOWS, POWER HEATED MIRRORS, POWER 8 WAY DRIVERS SEAT WITH POWER LUMBAR CONTROL, KEYLESS ENTRY, POWER REARVIEW MIRROR WITH COMPASS, A TWO WAY POWER FACTORY SUNROOF WITH SUN SHADE, BUILT IN GARAGE DOOR OPENER, A DRIVETRAIN SWITCH WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO CHOOSE 4 POSITIONS INCLUDING ALL WHEEL DRIVE, 4WD, 2WD AND 4WD LOW, REAR CLIMATE CONTROLS, TOW PACKAGE, RUNNING BOARDS AND A CD PLAYER. INTERIOR: THE INTERIOR HAS NORMAL WEAR AND COULD USE SHAMPOOING BUT IS IN OVERALL VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH NO TEARS, BURN HOLES OR EXCESSIVE WEAR. IT DOES HAVE A MARK ON THE CENTER CONSOLE FLIP UP HATCH. MY SON DECIDED TO PLAY WITH THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND TOUCHED TO THE VYNIL ON THE HATCH. IT IS ONLY ABOUT $20.00 TO REPLACE THE HATCH. EXTERIOR: MAJESTIC RED METALLIC IS A VERY RICH LOOKING RED COLOR WITH EXTRA METALLIC SHEEN. IT WAS AN EXTRA $225.00 OPTION FOR THIS COLOR WHEN NEW. IT HAS A FEW NORMAL SHALLOW SCRATCHES WHICH REALLY HAVE TO BE LOOKED FOR. THE TWO MAJOR ISSUES WOULD BE A DENT IS THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR, NEAR THE MIDDLE AND JUST BELOW THE WINDOW. IT IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A FIST. THE SECOND WOULD BE THE SIDE MOLDING NEAR THE FRONT FENDER IS SLIGHTLY AWAY FROM THE BODY AND THERE IS A RUB MARK ON THE FRONT FENDER DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF IT. THIS IS FROM A SMALL ACCIDENT. PHOTOS INCLUDED. MECHANICALLY: I KNOW OF NOTHING THAT IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE MECHANICALLY. IT STARTS, RUNS, DRIVES AND SHIFTS BEAUTIFULLY. ASIDE FROM REPLACING THE MOTOR IN 2011, I HAVE REPLACED THE WATER PUMP, ALTERNATOR AND AC COMPRESSOR, NEWER HEAVY DUTY BRAKES ALL AROUND AND NEWER TIRES WITH LESS THAN 10K ON THEM. PLEASE CALL ME AT 440-225-5653 WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. THANKS, JEFF

GM forced to cut truck production amid semiconductor shortage
Thu, Jul 22 2021WASHINGTON — General Motors said Wednesday it will cut some truck production in North America because of the ongoing global semiconductor shortage. The largest U.S. automaker said its Flint Assembly plant that builds the Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks will operate on one production shift the week of July 26. GM said its Ft. Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana that builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 model trucks will be idled next week. GM's Silao Assembly plant in Mexico that also builds the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cheyenne (for the Mexico market) and GMC Sierra 1500 will also suspend production next week. All three plants are expected to resume regular production the week of August 2. Related video:
GM promises to add 20 EVs and fuel-cell cars to lineup, paid for by SUVs
Mon, Oct 2 2017DETROIT — General Motors outlined plans on Monday to add 20 new battery electric and fuel-cell vehicles to its global product lineup by 2023, financed by robust profits from sales of gasoline-fueled trucks and sport utility vehicles in the United States and China. "General Motors believes in an all-electric future," GM global product development chief Mark Reuss said on Monday during a briefing at the company's suburban Detroit technical center. Future generations of GM electric vehicles "will be profitable," Reuss said, but added it was not clear when GM could make all its new vehicle offerings zero-emission electric cars. Regulators in China and some European countries have floated proposals to ban internal combustion engines by 2030 or 2040. "We will continue to make sure our internal combustion engines will get more and more efficient," Reuss said. GM shares were up more than 4 percent in midday New York trading on positive comments from Rod Lache, auto analyst at Deutsche Bank. Automakers, including electric vehicle market leader Tesla, lose money on electric cars because battery costs are still higher than comparable internal combustion engines. The company offered sneak peeks of three EV prototypes: a Buick SUV, a sporty Cadillac wagon and a futuristic pod car wearing a Bolt badge. GM funds its forays into new technology using a river of cash generated by old-technology vehicles popular with its core customer base in the United States heartland. In comparison, Tesla has burned through an estimated $10 billion in cash and has yet to show a full year profit. GM earned more than 90 percent of its $12.5 billion in pretax profits last year in North America, amid robust demand for its lineup of large sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks. The company's profitable operations in China rely on consumer demand for an expanding lineup of gasoline powered SUVs. GM has previously announced plans to make some of its future electric vehicles capable of driving themselves in robot taxi fleets. The company offered sneak peeks of three electric vehicle prototypes: a Buick brand sport utility vehicle, a sporty Cadillac wagon and a futuristic pod car wearing a Bolt badge. GM collaborated with Korean battery maker LG Chem to build the Bolt battery system. Company officials did not say what companies would supply batteries for the larger fleet of vehicles promised by 2023. Fuel-cell vehicles will also play a role in GM's future, the company said.
Meet Alex Archer, the engineer behind GM's power-sliding center console
Sat, Feb 15 2020In 2009, a GM manager complained to a 59-year-old GM technician about the hassle of retrieving items from a pickup truck bed after driving shifted the cargo. In two days, the tech had come up with the ideas that, ten years later, would debut as the MultiPro tailgate. The engineering teams kept the tailgate secret in part by hiding mock-ups in a locked storage closet in GM's Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren Michigan for two years. A piece in the Detroit Free Press reveals that another storage closet in Warren would play the same role in a different cloak-and-dagger operation, this time for the power-sliding center console in GM's new full-sized SUVs. During a meeting in early 2017, bosses gave the job of the console's creation to 24-year-old design release engineer Alex Archer, just two years out of Stanford University with a degree in engineering and product design. This time, the catalyst for the feature was an internal GM think tank called co:lab, where employees suggest ideas. Execs gave Archer the task because "They needed someone willing to ask a lot of questions," her 36-month mandate to produce a six-way console that could be a standard cubby or a gaping maw able to swallow four gallon jugs or hide a secret compartment. Clearly, she succeeded. It took Archer and the team nine months to devise a prototype, another six months to get the green light for production. As with the tailgate, the team working on the console grew to include designers, production engineers, and suppliers. Archer, now 26, shepherded the process, and her name is on the patent. "It took a ton of people, I'm just somebody who stuck with it the whole time," she said. GM like her work well enough to produce the "Day in the Life" segment above, five months before the world would hear about the console. Archer's path to engineering was as unlikely as getting the job for the console. She had entered Stanford with plans to be a doctor. But an innovation class during her freshman year, and a sophomore summer spent helping her grandfather rebuild a 1937 MG engine recharted her course. Her grandfather told her, "You know, you could be an engineer for a car company." Consumer reaction to Archer's work won't be far off, the SUVs slated to hit dealerships soon. Meanwhile, she's busy on something that could be just as intense as the console: Restoring a 1955 Packard Clipper in her garage. Head to Freep to check out the story of Archer and the console.
