Here is a rare opportunity for someone, a beautiful 1971 Ford Torino GT Convertible in Ford Metallic Grabber Green, one of 1,613 in this model year. The power convertible top works smoothly, and the vinyl top is in perfect condition with a clear glass rear windshield. The 4 barrel 351 Cleveland is a smooth running machine with an edlebrock performer intake, a 650 edelbrock carburetor and a three speed, tight, automatic transmission. The rare hide away lights open and close perfect.

The floor pans were replaced about 3 years ago, at which point the dual exhaust was also added.

The car has a new front end, having had both the upper and lower control arms replaced, along with all bushings and ball joints. The front coil springs and the spring seats were also replaced at the time the front end was being done, approximately 1 year ago.

The interior is in good condition. There are no tears in the seats, but a few cracks in the dash pad as can be seen in the pictures.

The car is located in Miami, FL

Matt Damon is Carroll Shelby, with Christian Bale in Ford vs. Ferrari film

Thu, Jun 21 2018

Right after we reported that one of the Le Mans-winning Ford GT40s is coming up for auction, word got round that its story will now be turned into a Hollywood movie. There will be an as-yet-untitled major motion picture that tells the story of Ford battling Ferrari in the 1960s, culminating in the Ford GT40's dramatic 1-2-3 finish in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. The movie has lined up an all-star cast, with "Batman" and "American Psycho" actor Christian Bale tapped to play key GT40 developer, test driver and racer Ken Miles, and "Punisher" actor Jon Bernthal as Lee Iacocca. The plum role of Carroll Shelby is going to Matt Damon, last seen driving across the Red Planet in "The Martian" or down a flight of stairs in the "Bourne" film series. The film's director will be James Mangold, known from directing last year's "Logan." View 37 Photos Autoweek reports that the original screenplay was based on A.J. Baime's book " Go Like Hell," but there will be a different screenplay written from scratch. Originally, "Go Like Hell" was to be a different project starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Meanwhile, the book will reportedly be turned into a TV series produced by Peter Dinklage of "Game of Thrones." And meanwhile some more, there are also competing Enzo Ferrari biopics in the works starring Robert De Niro and another starring Hugh Jackman that will also surely touch on the rivalry with Ford. While there's no guarantee yet that the GT40 biopic will match Steve McQueen's "Le Mans," we're got high hopes. It's a great story worthy of all the attention it's getting. Americans will get a four-cylinder Ford Mustang after all? [w/poll]

Sat, 09 Mar 2013

Ask and you shall receive. Remember that previous report suggesting that the 2015 Ford Mustang getting a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and that it would be sold in Europe only and not the United States? Well, according to Road & Track, the rumor is only partially true - The Mustang will get the engine, but it is indeed coming to America.
Additionally, according to RT, the 3.7-liter V6 will continue to serve as the base engine, and since it offers up a stout 305 horsepower in its current form, it's likely that the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost will produce a bit more than that. At the top of the range, the Mustang GT will continue to soldier on with a V8 engine, which should continue to send over 400 horsepower to the rear wheels.
Finally, while we agree 100 percent with RT's heartfelt request for a paddle-shift automatic, we certainly expect that the EcoBoost 'Stang will be offered with a manual transmission as standard equipment. This is a Mustang, after all...
