You will be buying a practically new car for about 1/4 the price of a equally equipped new one.  YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED  ! ! !   * * * ORIGINAL FACTORY PAINT - NOT REPAINTED -  NOT TOUCHED UP ! ! !  * * * * This car will easily last another 27 + years with the right care.  The windows have recently been professionally tinted with street legal ultra premium film.  The only thing besides the window tint that is not original is the stereo.  It now has a Pioneer am/fm/cd with detachable faceplate w/ an aux jack for an ipod or other input device.  The original equalizer is still installed but is not hooked up. The tires have a lot of tread (almost new).  This T-bird drives like it just came of the showroom floor.  Very tight (no rattles) The interior is perfect (still smells like new).  20 plus MPG.  Always garaged kept and babied ! This bird is ready to be driven any where with no worries.  Power radio antenna. Power Driver and Passenger seats.  Power mirrors.  Automatic headlights/high beams.  There are 2 very minor dimples on the trunk lid that were there when I bought it.  They are only noticeable in the right lighting and view.  The actual mileage is 30,453.  I have owned this car for 2 + years and put about 3000 miles on it. It has never been driven in the snow.  There are no rust issues.  Tranny shifts fine, clutch is great, Turbo works perfectly.  You will be buying a basically new car.  I will do an oil change and check up before delivery to you.  I will not take less than the first bid, $6999.99 please don't ask. I will entertain buy it now offers above $7,000.   Please call 719-264-0390 anytime for more info. Leave a message , I screen all calls.  If you can find a nicer Thunderbird Turbo Coupe in this condition with lower miles at a lower price, Buy It !  But I don't think you will.  Again . . .YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ! ! ! !

I WILL HAD TO RELIST THIS VECHICLE. I had it for sale locally but the deal could not be finalized. Any high bidder on this ebay auction will be the Lucky New Owner.  You will wish it was you ! ! !

There are NOT ANY CARS of any year, make or model on ebay with these miles, in this price range & in this condition.  Check it out, I just did.  My loss is your gain.

This Thunderbird Turbo Coupe sold for $17,451.00 in 1986.  Adjusted using the Consumer Price Index Inflation Calculator, the 2013 price for a this Turbo Coupe would be $37,752.06 . You can buy it for less than $7,000.  That seems like a steal to me.  Take $7,000 to any car lot or private seller and see if you can buy a nicer car with less miles that needs absolutely no repairs.  Think about it ! ! ! Good Luck bidding.  Thanks for looking.

New autonomous testing ground in Michigan will help battle bad weather

Thu, Dec 14 2017

If one of the big weaknesses of autonomous vehicles is their ability to navigate in the snow, consider this a trial by fire. The American Center for Mobility says it has opened its $110 million driverless car testing facility on the site of a former General Motors assembly plant in Michigan, with Toyota and auto supplier Visteon the first to begin testing this week. The ACM proving ground is a 500-acre site at historic Willow Run in Ypsilanti Township, near Ann Arbor. It's one of 10 sites designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation as pilot proving ground sites to test AV technologies. It features a variety of simulated environments to test driverless cars, including a 2.5-mile highway loop, two double overpasses, intersections, roundabouts and a 700-foot curved tunnel. It also opens just as the region experiences a series of snowstorms and the first frigid temperatures of the season. That ability to test autonomous vehicles in a wide variety of weather conditions is important, as autonomous vehicle sensors have struggled to handle cold, wet and snowy conditions. Google parent Alphabet in October said its Waymo division was expanding its winter testing operations to Michigan, making it the sixth state where it's testing its driverless car systems. In a Medium blog post, Waymo CEO John Krafcik wrote that "This type of testing will give us the opportunity to assess the way our sensors perform in wet, cold conditions. And it will also build on the advanced driving skills we've developed over the last eight years by teaching our cars how to handle things like skidding on icy, unplowed roads." Waymo also opened a development center in suburban Detroit in 2016, working with Fiat Chrysler to integrate its autonomous technology into Chrysler Pacifica hybrid minivans. Visteon began testing and validating its DriveCore autonomous driving platform to evaluate algorithms, vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure technology and other systems. Toyota used the facility Wednesday to begin orientation and driver training. ACM has so far secured $110 million to construct the first two phases from founders Ford, Hyundai America Technical Center, Toyota and Visteon, and says it expects to announce more investment soon.

GM being sued over imploding Bosch fuel pumps in Duramax diesel trucks

Fri, Aug 9 2019

Texas-based law firm Hilliard Martinez Gonzalez (HMG) this week filed a class-action lawsuit against General Motors over an alleged issue with Bosch CP4 fuel pumps. The suit claims Bosch designed the CP4 pump to work with European diesel fuel, which is thicker than U.S. diesel. When GM installed that pump in the 6.6-liter Duramax engine used from the 2011 to 2016 model years, the lawsuit claims the thinner U.S. fuel didn't provide enough lubrication, allowing air pockets to form in the fuel pump. That, in turn, allegedly let metal rub against metal inside the pump, causing the pump to eventually disintegrate and "send thousands of metal shards into the fuel injection system and every part of the engine." The Detroit News reported on the most recent lawsuit filed in Michigan's Eastern District Court, but the case is another piece of nationwide legal maneuvering going on since at least last September. Every U.S. truck maker used the Bosch CP4 fuel pump, and HMG originally went after all of them, as well as Bosch. On September 30, 2018, HMG filed a class-action suit in Texas on behalf of eight plaintiffs. The law firm wanted to prosecute the affair under RICO — the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act — and named 10 defendants: FCA US LLC, FCA North America Holdings, LLC, F/K/A Chrysler Group, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, N.V., Ford Motor Company, General Motors LLC, Robert Bosch GmbH, Robert Bosch LLC, VM North America, Inc., and VM Motori S.P.A.  The firm filed another suit in Florida on Nov. 2, 2018, against the same 10 defendants, again under the RICO statute, this time on behalf of more than 30 plaintiffs. We don't know how many other suits might have been filed, but the two suits mentioned apparently didn't have legs — the courts dismissed both quickly. So HMG shifted its strategy away from the RICO angle, and focused its efforts on GM, filing suit in California on Nov. 20, 2018. Instead of trying to catch 10 fish with a small net, HMG wants to score one fish with a big net. The results have borne more promise for the plaintiffs. In July this year, a judge in California denied GM's motion to dismiss, noting "the alleged defect is central to the vehicleÂ’s function." This latest suit filed on Aug. 6 in Detroit singles out GM again.  The Bosch CP4 is known to be problematic, however.

How that awesome Mustang R/C car chase vid was made

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.
Want to make an RC chase video of your own? Yeah, we do too. Watch the behind-the-scenes video below (you can refresh yourself on the mini feature film, too) before you get started.
