Diamond in the rough.  Just over 69K original miles.  Engine runs great.  Everything worked the last time that the car was driven except for the adjustable ride option.  I got the car from the father of the original owner about 5 years after the owned passed away.  It was sitting in the weather full of junk on 4 flat tires and would not run.  Over the next couple of years the car received a new gas tank, fuel pump, radiator, cooling fan, brakes, complete exhaust system, belts and hoses, front and rear transmission seals and rear main seal, plugs and wires, rebuilt distributor...and the list goes on and on. Turbo works great and will go to 15lbs boost with no problem.   Tires are like new Goodyears.  Driver's seat has been reupholstered and the head liner replaced.  Body is straight with no dents and no rust. Paint has some scratches on the trunk lid, most everything else should buff out OK. Wheels are the original 16" TC wheels.  Car has been garaged since 2009 with transmission problems.  I am on a fixed income and can not afford to continue the restoration on this great vehicle.  Problem with the transmission is that it will not go into drive.  Takes reverse just fine.  It never slipped or hesitated just quit taking drive...matter of fact the shift was so positive at full throttle it would pretty much knock the fillings in your teeth loose.  Talked to a transmission shop and their prognosis was that it is probably seals since the car sat up for so long before I got it...problem being they won't touch it without doing a complete rebuild because they have to warranty the work.  This car was a real kick to drive and I hate to see it go...but better someone get it that will do something with it than see it rot in the garage.  Car must be picked up with a trailer or dolly as it is not driveable.  Transmission will not go into drive.

Surprise! More Ford and Lincoln cars found with marijuana

Thu, Jul 27 2017

Ford is starting to have a serious problem on its hands. Today, ABC 7 in Detroit reported that another batch of Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ cars were found packed with 227 pounds of marijuana. This is a little over a week after Fords in Ohio were found stuffed with marijuana and only about two months after Fords in Minnesota were found full of weed. All of the cars traveled on train from Mexico to their destination. All in, several thousand pounds and several million dollars worth of marijuana has been discovered. According to the report, Immigration and Customs Enforcement found the cars at the Ford Rail Distribution Facility in Woodhaven, Michigan, just south of Ford's world headquarters in Dearborn. ICE became involved after a Ford employee reported the cars to Woodhaven police. It's unclear when and where the cars were packed with marijuana. With the cars in Minnesota, it's believed that the weed was added after leaving the factory but before being loaded on the train. Spare tires were removed and the space was used to smuggle the marijuana. Related Video:

Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video]

Fri, 16 May 2014

When Ford announced that its 2015 Mustang would arrive with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, three letters came to mind: SVO. While Ford hasn't said a word regarding the rebirth of a Mustang SVO model, this latest set of spy shots shows us something very, very interesting. Allow us to explain.
The Mustang prototype in these photos looks very similar to the GT500 test cars we've spotted before - same bulging hood, aggressive front fascia and air vents aft of the front wheels. What's different, however, is around back. Have a look at the exhaust, and note that instead of the GT500's usual quad pipes, two of the exhaust outlets have been capped off.
Our spies point out that these exhaust outlets could be closed for some sort of emissions testing or another engineering reason, but it's also important to note that the engine and exhaust notes of this car sound completely different from earlier GT500 prototypes. We've got a video below that compares the two.
