This is a 1968 Ford Thunderbird with a 429 Thunderjet engine. This car is an unrestored classic. Survivor! The 429 thunderjet engine is boasting an impressive 360 hp out of the factory! This car is all original save for the radio and landau top. Radio has been repalced by a new CD player w/ remote and usb port. Landau top was removed and roof has been painted black in it's place. The car runs and drives very good. Takes hills cruising at 65 with plenty power to spare. The body is in good shape save for a small dent in the front passenger side quarter panel (shown in picture) but it can be pulled. Original paint is still on car but needs new paint. Has retractable lights in the front grill they both work. Taillights stretch across entire backside of car they all work. Blinkers work. Brakes are good. Have original wheels on the car and are in good shape. Tires are in excellent shape less than 1000 miles on all. Also have the hubcaps but aren't currently on the car but can easily be put on. All of the original outside trim is there (thunderbird emblems on lights, chrome, bumpers, grill) and in good condition. The interior is in good condition, there is one small rip (pictured) on either side of the front seat in the top corner. There is also a rip on the arm rest. All guages work. A/C works! PS/PB. Brights work. Thunderbird emblems on inside door panels there and in good shape. No back registration due, I have the title. No leaks and frame is good. Steers great, no play in the steering. Indicator lights work as well. The CD player is the only thing new in the car otherwise all original. All parts functional and serviceable. It has been very well maintained and is in really good condition for being 45 years old. A little cosmetic work (mostly paint) and this car would not only run good, it would look great. The originality of the car is great down to the pedal rubbers. In this condition with these options the car is booking at around 9,000. Leaving some meat on the bone I feel this price is fair. To get this car and try to find the trim parts and other accessories would be a pain. They're already all there. If you put a little care into it, it would be just as it rolled out of the factory. Also being that it's unrestored you don't have to undue someone elses work. Make it your own. This is a great car. Bid with confidence. Also selling it locally, reserve the right to end auction early if sold locally.

Ford Fusion getting substantial refresh for 2017
Wed, 13 Aug 2014It's only been a couple of years since Ford rolled out the current Fusion, but if these spy shots are anything to go by, it's already planning what appears to be a substantial update for the mid-size sedan.
According to our paparazzi on the ground, the new Fusion is being prepared for launch late in 2016 or early 2017. Although heavily camouflaged to keep it from prying eyes such as ours, it appears that the updated Fusion will tone down the Aston Martin-style grille, ditch the small corner window with revised front side glass and tweak the vehicle's overall shape. But there's more to the new Fusion than a styling adjustment, and our spy photographers have caught a glimpse inside and taken us along.
Apparently the new Fusion is to get a completely overhauled interior with soft-touch surfaces and matte wood trim to make it seem more upscale. There's an all-new rotary gear selector (like you'd find on a Jaguar, for example) hinting at the implementation of a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The prototype appears to be packing the Microsoft SYNC system, suggesting that the new Blackberry QNX system isn't ready quite yet - though that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be ready by the time the new Fusion is.

Ford announces fix for 2021 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator fires
Sat, Jul 9 2022In the middle of May, Ford announced a recall of around 39,000 Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators from the 2021 model year due to fires starting under the hoods of the SUVs. At the time, Ford had received 16 incident reports, 14 of them happening with rental vehicles. The automaker cautioned owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures while engineers figured out what was happening and how to fix the problem. Since that May announcement, five more fires have been reported, four of them rental vehicles, and there's been one burn injury. The company announced it understands the problem and has a fix, at the same time widening the scope of potentially affected vehicles. Instead of recalling 39,013 units built between December 1, 2020, and April 30, 2021, the recall now includes 66,221 vehicles assembled from July 27, 2020, to Aug. 31, 2021. The suspected culprit is a circuit board provided by a supplier that changed manufacturing location during the pandemic. Ford's press release on the matter stated that "circuit boards produced at this facility are uniquely susceptible to a high-current short." The affected vehicles are fitted with either an 800-watt or 700-watt cooling fan system. About a third of the recalled population are fitted with the former, and should get a quick fix at the dealer. On these SUVs, techs will inspect the battery junction box. If they find evidence of melting, they'll replace the whole box. If not, they'll simply remove the engine fan ground wire that runs to the battery junction box; since this ground relay is redundant, the change doesn't alter operation of the fans. Owners with the 700-watt system might need to wait until September for a fix. These vehicles need an auxiliary relay box with a wire jumper, but the parts aren't available now.  Ford's notifying all owners via the FordPass app, and will follow up with owners of the 700-watt cooling system once the parts are in stock. Until their vehicles are fixed, Ford says the SUVs are safe to drive but that they should still be parked outside and away from structures. The somewhat mixed messaging — 'Yes, your cars are safe to drive, but they could catch fire so don't park them near anything flammable' — encouraged a group of owners to file suit against Ford. Owners with questions can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 and reference recall No. 22S36.
