1963 Thunderbird Convertible - Nicest "driver" You Will Find - A True Must See! on 2040-cars
Lexington, North Carolina, United States
|
This beautiful Thunderbird Convertible is nearly all original and has been well cared for. As you can see, the fender skirts (which are being provided with the car) have been removed, and new 16" Real Wire Wheels (with knock-off hubs) have been added. Man, they're classy! The top was replaced a few years ago and is still in excellent condition since the car has been garage kept. It has also been repainted, and looks wonderful! You will not believe how good this car looks in real life. We get looks, smiles, waves, and thumbs-up wherever we go, and it starts conversations every time you have it in park! The interior is all original (except we did have to install a new dash cover) and in wonderful condition. Some of the bright metal in the interior is showing some pitting, but it still shines and is quite presentable. The 390 V-8, adds quite a lot to the value and collectability of the car, and it runs very well. Highway speeds of 65 - 70 mph are maintained comfortably. No doubt that higher speeds would be as well, but our comfort level is what we are advertising. Then there is the Swing-Away Steering Wheel. When demonstrating the car to others, this feature is still a very intriguing conversation piece. Feel free to call me to discuss anything at all regarding this very attractive and mature lady. She drives very nicely, and with the top down she hardly makes a sound. With the top up, she has a few rattles due to her age, but, she's as sweet as ever, and loves to show you a good time! The current issue of the Black Book for collectable cars shows the value of this car in "Fair" condition is $13,500, and in "Good" condition it is $23,500. NADA shows it even higher. We believe our car would be classified as "Good." But our reserve is closer to "Fair." We think this is your opportunity to get a steal! For details we might have left out, please call 336-239-4263 anytime between 6AM and 9PM Eastern. And, thanks for looking. Happy bidding! |

Camouflaged Shelby GT350 seen on the street
Fri, Mar 27 2015The Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang made a grand debut at the 2014 LA Auto Show, and its more extreme GT350R sibling bowed at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. With the order guides already leaked and the R lapping the Nurburgring in a claimed 7:32.19, many of the big questions about the high-performance pony cars have already been answered. However, when they aren't showing up at events, Ford apparently still sees reason to keep the models fully camouflaged on the street. Case in point: this recent video showing off one in testing. With the design already fully unveiled, there's not much left to spy under all of the concealment. This short clip does provide a real-world opportunity to hear the song of the 5.2-liter V8 with its flat-plane crank, though. As a development car nothing here is final, but based on this video, Ford is definitely making sure the Shelby's engine sounds great. Related Video:
Recharge Wrap-up: BMW tests AdBlue pumps, Drivr is a Tesla taxi service
Thu, Jan 22 2015BMW is testing AdBlue pumps in Germany. AdBlue fluid is used to remove NOx from diesel exhaust, and it is stored in its own tank within the vehicle. Filling AdBlue is easy enough for drivers to do it themselves, and with the proliferation of diesel vehicles in Europe, a pump filling system could make more sense than using the current hand-held containers. BMW is testing AdBlue pumps at three fueling stations in Munich and Berlin to help develop further AdBlue dispenser technology. Read more at Green Car Congress. Drivr Green Personal Transportation is a Tesla taxi service in Cincinnati. Two former employees of Tesla Motors founded the startup, which bills itself alongside ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft. Customers book a ride online, and are picked up by a Tesla Model S. The ride costs $2.50 per mile with a $15 minimum. Drivr currently operates three cars with seven drivers, with plans to lease another 10 Teslas and employ up to 30 drivers. The service will also be expanding to Denver soon, according to the website. Learn more at the Drivr website, or read more at Clean Technica. Ford is opening a research and development facility in Silicon Valley. The Ford Research & Innovation Center, which will be located less than three miles from Tesla Motors headquarters in Palo Alto, California, is expected to be one of the automotive industry's largest R&D facilities. "We're driving to be both a product and a mobility company, and ultimately to change the way the world moves," says Ford CEO Mark Fields. Read more at Automotive News. Law firms advising Fisker Automotive have been denied a $2.50-million fee enhancement in the car company's bankruptcy. Brown Rudnick LLP and Saul Ewing LLP were denied the extra fees, as a Delaware bankruptcy judge ruled there is "no evidence" that the firms provided anything more than what they originally expected. In denying the fee enhancement, the judge cited a "very high bar" for such awards. Read more at Law360.
