Welcome to my auction. This is a nice 1963 Thunderbird Hardtop Coupe avaliable for your consideration.

This Classic is 50 years old and one of the most popular of the "Bullet Birds" or "Rocket Birds" Generation.
The car has been garaged for 8 years. I ocassionally do start it up. It does drive but like with any old classic there is always something that may need attention.
It is not perfect so if your looking for a trailer queen or perfection then this car is not for you but if your looking for a great start on a Restore as you drive piece then please think about this vehicle.

Has a 390 cubic inch engine (standard for thunderbird) 300 HP with a 4 bbl carburator. engine does run and drives.
Transmission is an automatic that operates good.
Power steering, power brakes, and power seat. (all works) Manual windows (an option back then on thunderbirds) and NO air conditioning.
Mileage shows 41,422 but I am sure given the age of the vehicle its probablly 141,422 miles.

Interior is very nice and comfortable to cruise around in.
The exterior has an older paint job on it and will eventually need to be redone. The outside chrome is very nice except above the front bumper it will need to be rechromed due to age. NO major dents or body damage that I can see. Car does come and included the Fender Skirts.
The trunk is clean and solid but will need the trunk mat set that can be bought from any thunderbird parts catalog.
Tires are very good and the hub caps are all there.
The rear tail light bezel (inner chrome rings) is currently a 1962 set and was on the car when I purchased it. it wasn't until afterwards I found its the wrong year inner chrome rings. A correct set can be purchased from any thunderbird catalog.

As I mentioned this is a driver that can be restored over time to your perfection. it is nearly 98% complete in my opinion. You won't find too many 1963 Thunderbirds in this color combination. Most are usually red, white, or black.
The car is according to my knowledge is the correct color (cascade green) with two tone green interior. According to the gentleman I purchased the car from is a numbers matching Vehicle.

Please take a look at the pictures. if you have any questions I encourage you to ask before purchasing. This car is sold in "AS IS CONDITION." The description and any information on the vehicle is to the best of my knowledge.
Please remember this is a 50 year old car it is not a musuem piece and not perfect by any means. If you want a fun car to drive, enjoy , and restore this is a great opportunity.

DO NOT ask me for my reserve price. I want to be fair to all bidders.

Buyers are responsible for any and all cost and arrangements for pickup and or transport. I will accomodate you the best I can when its time to pickup your vehicle.
Payment is a NON refundable deposit of $500.00 via paypal within 24 hours of auction end. Remaining balance can paid for through paypal or Certified Bank Cashiers Check due within 3 days of auction end. All Funds MUST CLEAR before vehicle will be released.
Car can be held in storage for up to 30 days FREE from the date of auction end. After 30 days there will be a $4.00 per day fee asessed and must be paid upon pickup of vehicle.

Ford announces first non-pursuit-rated police car ever

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

Ford announced its first non-pursuit-rated Police Interceptor ever, based on the Taurus, which employs the smaller 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine in place of similar pursuit-rated Police Interceptors powered by naturally aspirated 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter V6s and the top-spec 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Officially called the Special Service Police sedan, the car was commissioned at the request of law-enforcement agencies that desire a more fuel-efficient vehicle for detectives, administrators and campus police, who don't necessarily need pursuit-rated vehicles.
The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, but more importantly, it allows the SSP sedan to achieve somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 miles per gallon city and 32 mpg highway, which are the civilian 2.0-liter Taurus' official EPA ratings. Ford estimates that the SSP sedan will get 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined, with the help of Active Grille Shutters that open to allow more cooling air through to the radiator, or close to optimize aerodynamics and fuel economy. Those numbers compare favorably to the discontinued Crown Victoria-based Interceptor's 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway and the newer Taurus-based cars equipped with V6s, the most fuel efficient of which gets 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
If it was driven 90,000 miles over the course of three years, a 2.0-liter SSP sedan would save law enforcement agencies $5,042.92 versus the Crown Vic, Ford estimates. The EPA is expected to post official fuel-economy numbers for the SSP sedan in December. Until then, read the press release below for more information.

Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds?

Sun, 01 Jun 2014

Automakers face competing interests when it comes to developing a new generation of vehicle. On the one hand, companies want to build their cars to be safer and better handling, with more equipment and maybe even larger dimensions over the model it's replacing. On the other hand, they strive to keep weight down to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. Usually something has to give, and in the case of the new 2015 Ford Mustang, those efforts may have resulted in a weight penalty of two or three hundred pounds.
This according to Blue Oval modifier Steeda Autosports, which states that "the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake". Despite the Mustang not being on the market yet, it would appear the leading Ford aftermarketer has been given early access to the 2015 model to help jumpstart its tuning efforts (a rather common development among trusted tuners). If Steeda's assertion is accurate, that would make the challenge of getting the new pony car up to speed for both Ford and aftermarket customizers like Steeda that much greater.
We're waiting for official word from Ford on the veracity of Steeda's claim, but if true, it's bound to be a bit of disappointing news for legions of Blue Oval performance enthusiasts. Watch this space for more.
