Up for sale is by 1962 thunderbird sports roadster. I have owned the car since 2006. It came for CO but was orginialy sold in CA.I have docomentation from 1988 when the car was baught by Carl Dane of Nascar Fame. You can look him up on line. At that time he had the car restored including new paint, chrome, engine and transmission gone over. Sometime before that a set of orginial Ford 3x2 setup was put one the car. Carbs are dated 1962 and are correct in every detail including the right crank case breather tubes and air cleaner. The gas line is rubber from the fuel pump to carbs however. An orginial autolite carb and 4lb intake and air cleaner is included in the sale if one chooses to put in on. The 3x2 runs great. In 1988 Mr. Dane sold the car to his nefew. He had a brand new top put on and a new top motor and raditor core instaled. I have detailed records that were included with the sale of the car to me at this point. Since I have had the car I have done many inprovements to it. New: exhaust system(front to rear), brake pads and cylinders, water pump, fuel pump, steering box. all alum.trim and switches replaced, new wire wheels(the 5 orginials are included and are not really bad, slightly dull). Also has four(4) Ford NOS original chrome spinners. The front seat covers looked to have been replaced (nice). The rear ones look to be the orginials and are nice also. The interior trim has been polished and looks new. Dash pad looks new and was probably replaced with a NOS ford part in 1988. Car has brand new carpet. Door panel are orginial along with the sun visors and are GREAT. Chrome on dash including all knobs is extra nice. Horn button has been replated, ring is orginal and nice. Steering wheel is like new with no crackes or scratches.Rotanda Tach was added by me and works find. Cup is like new. There are two radios that come with the car. The orginial AM and the aftermarket AM/FM that I put in. Both work find. No extra holes cut anywhere. Same with clock, orginial and the new quartz. All guages and controls work as they should. The AC  has not worked since I had the car but all factory parts are present.I do not have the skill to work on this but I do know the clutch on the compressor does work. Mileage: The speedometer shows 3500 now. There was 1100 on the car when I got it . Do not know actual mileage but suspect it was set to zero when car was restored. Also I have the choke set up that uses the choke tube with the white cloth that goes across the carbs and goes into the exhaust manifold.I just prefer the electric setup the best BODY: This is the most amazing thing about this car. I can not find any rust at all on this car,top or bottom. I went over it with a magnet when I bought the car and couldn't find any body filler anywhere Panels are stright and alinment is right on. I would say paint is 9 out of ten. There are no dings or dents Grill has been polished. The out side stainless trin has not been polishe(did not know now to take off) and there is a small dimple in two of the six pieces. Other car trim (emblems, beezels, door handles, mirror, ect are like new. Rubber trim is excellent. Rear weights are installed in trunk but the front ones are in boxes and not installed. Probably left off when front bumper was replated. TOP: Top is excellent with no rips or tears.Window is clear with no scratches.Top worked find when I got the car but works a little a little slow now.. All switches and relays work as they should.SUPENSION:New rebuilt of front and new springs on back with all new bushings. Shocks looked good(with no leaks) and were not replaced. New radial tires is 2007 including spare.   SUMMARY:This is a beauitful sports roadster(a early one  and a real one) I have the docmentation. With a no rust body and has not been messed with and butched up in any way. If you like the style of the 1962 and want a good car This is IT!    It has not been on ebay before and is not in the tbird registry. I have done my best to describe this car but I may have missed some issues you may be concerned about so please feel free to email with any questions. And thank you for taking time to look at my car.

This is an early car and the  fiberglass cover does NOT have bolt holes.  The very early ones had a piece of metal attached to the tonneau cover  that slipped in between the top of the rear seat  and metal cover over the seats. Later cars had the bolts. It is 100% factory correct. .

Ford readying 2015 F-150 drift truck for SEMA

Sun, 19 Oct 2014

Between the Mustangs you'd find in Formula D and the Fiestas in the Global and World rallycross championships, there's no shortage of Ford drift cars on the scene. But at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Blue Oval automaker intends to show off a different kind of drift machine.
Created in collaboration with driftmeister Vaughn Gittin, Jr., this custom F-150 has been designed for "on- and off-road capabilities, as well as drifting and jumping." It's got a suspension with components from Kibbetech King and Air Lift Performance to give it 12 inches of travel and comes packed with 5 Recaro seats. Other details remain limited, but if the rendering above is anything to go by, it ought to be pretty awesome.
Alongside the Gittin truck, Ford will also be showcasing another F-150 designed together with freestyle motorcross rider Brian Deegan, packing the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and a long list of enhancements. Between these two trucks, Ford hopes to extend its winning streak for the Hottest Truck award that it's taken four years running now. Feel free to read more in the press release below.

2015 Ford Edge Sport [w/video]

Thu, Apr 23 2015

The Edge is easy to overlook, especially in Ford's prolific stable of sport utility vehicles. But thanks to new engines, upscale sheet metal and fresh technologies, the Edge has renewed swagger for 2015. Outfitted in the Sport trim, which included the feisty 315-horsepower EcoBoost V6, a stiffer suspension, and unique fascias, my Edge was loaded, and it was priced accordingly. With options, including all-wheel drive, it cost $46,180, which is pretty lofty for a Ford Edge. But, you get a lot of stuff here – features like leather-accented seats, a lane-departure warning system, and active park assist – that make your life more comfortable and safer. It's been a while since I've driven an Edge. And unless you own one, it's probably been a while since you've even thought about an Edge. Now there's good reason to take another look. Driving Notes I really liked the interior. It was simple, clean, and done up in black. It served as a fitting backdrop for the colorful gauges and the Sync with MyFord Touch infotainment system. The interior designers added silver plastic trim and contrasting white stitching on the center console and door inserts to break up the darkness. Leather was used for the steering wheel wrap, door inserts, and console cover, and it conveyed a premium feel. The leather-trimmed seats with suede inserts were comfortable. They looked elegant and felt pleasing. The heating and cooling features were useful for springtime driving and its varied temperatures. The vista sunroof was spectacular. It let in plenty of sunlight and opened long and wide like a retractable stadium roof. Even closed, it still offered a panoramic view of the sky for my passengers, especially those in the second row. Another note on the interior: I had an excellent driving position and an elevated view of the road. When rain began to fall – which has a way of frazzling motorists – I turned up Cat Stevens and motored along blithely. My second-row passengers were also comfy. One remarked on the ample leg- and headroom, and everyone liked the ambient lighting. The cargo area, which offered 39.2 cubic feet of space behind the second row (7 cubic feet more than the previous version), was more than capable for a weekend grocery run. I'll admit, I'm a Luddite when it comes to infotainment systems, and Sync with MyFord Touch has a mixed reputation. Historically, it's been confusing and hasn't always worked as advertised.

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
