Very nice solid 1962 Thunderbird. I aquired this car about 10 years ago from the original owners daughter. This is a VERY solid practically rust free car that has been garaged its entire life. The interior is in excellent condition with only 2 issues. The driver seat bottom is worn and cracked (see pictures) anf there are 2 cracks in the dash pad at the speaker corners. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt and have less than 1000 miles on them. The exhaust, brakes, heater, carpets, gas tank, radiator, master cylinder, and tires are new and the car runs and drives great. There is a small rust spot in the right rear 1/4 at the bottom of the wheel well and the passenger door has a slight crease in it from the original owner backing out of his garage. The car has 1 repaint from the late 70's or early 80's and I would say it is a 20 footer. The drivers side rocker has some paint flaking off form what looks like poor prep during the repaint not from rust. The underside and the trunk are solid from it being garaged and the undercoating. The car is registered and inspected and ready to cruse. This is a very nice, well preserved T'Bird. I'm selling it because it does not fit into my collection plans and It needs a good home with someone that will take care of it and have fun driving it.

Jay Leno's Garage goes eco with Ricardo HyBoost
Mon, 17 Mar 2014"Now before you turn away, this is not another boring hybrid car thing..." Despite the slightly defensive introduction from Jay, the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage is actually pretty fascinating. The Ricardo HyBoost is a 2009 Ford Focus that has had a 1.1-liter engine swapped in for the stock 2.0-liter four. That might not get you performance enthusiasts out there fired up, until, that is, you hear that the 1.1L is also fed by both a turbocharger and an electrically driven supercharger for an instant-on "torque-fill" effect. Sounds about right, considering that Ricardo engineering is part of the genius behind the McLaren P1.
Perhaps most exciting of all, the Ricardo folks say that the package should run somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,100. A sort of performance-hybrid that makes sense for the frugal driver and the enthusiast one, then. There's a lot more to the HyBoost, all of which can be seen in the video below.
Ford says 70% of its models to get stop-start by 2017
Sun, 15 Dec 2013Ford is following up on a report we posted a few weeks back that the Blue Oval would be adding stop-start technology to its entire model range. Now, the Dearborn-based automaker has announced that the fuel-saving feature would be available on 70 percent of the company's range by 2017.
Ford claims the technology will improve fuel economy by around 3.5 percent, although its actual effect will vary based on how the owner drives - apparently up to a 10-percent improvement is possible for those who sit in heavy traffic (Los Angelenos, this means you). The latest recipient of the technology is the updated 2014 Ford Fiesta with the company's three-cylinder EcoBoost powerplant.
Part of the reasoning for the new addition has to do with cost. Ford claims the tech is affordable and easy to implement. "Simply put, Auto Start-Stop helps customers use less fuel, which is an important component of Ford's Blueprint for Sustainability," Ford's global powertrain vice president, Bob Fascetti, said.
