CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Up for sale and your consideration is a really nice 1955 Ford Thunderbird equipped with the original driveline. It has a 292 V8 engine & Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. it is nicely optioned with power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat, and all power options work just fine. It has had the same owner for 17 years. It is not a 100 point show car but presents very well and is in turn key drive home and enjoy immediately today condition. It was purchased from a neighbor who had it willed to him by his mother who resided in Honolulu, Hawaii, where the car spent much of it's life. The Hawaii inspection sticker is still on the rear bumper and the title shows Hawaii as the state of origin. The odometer shows 31,000 miles on it but I don't have any documentation to prove the mileage is original. The title is listed mileage exempt as many older cars are. The data plate reveals that the car was built in Dearborn, Michigan, (Code F) and originally a black car (Code A) with a black and white interior (Code XA). It apparently received a color change inside and out early on due to the fact that the paint, although still shiny, shows a few areas of age. The car runs, drives & stops fine. Since it spent more time in the garage than on the road for the last 17 years, some items have been replaced and refurbished. The cooling system received a new thermostat, gasket, hoses, water pump, and the radiator was cleaned and pressure tested before re-installation. The gas tank is a brand new stainless steel unit that has just been replaced. The carburetor is a bit dry from sitting and could perform better, so a rebuilt unit is on order and will be on the car before it leaves for it's new home. Transmission has been serviced with a new filter and gasket and fresh fluid as well. This Thunderbird is equipped with the original 1955 Hardtop (No Porthole), but has no softop. This car was personalized with the addition of N.O.S. 50's vintage 4" dummy spots and lake pipes. Again these items are 50's N.O.S. and not plated with the sub standard China Chrome. 1955 Mercury Station Wagon tail lights were installed for a mild custom look, along with 50's vintage spinner hubcaps. Stock tail lights and hubcaps were retained and will go with the car, so it can be returned to stock appearance in a few hours. As you can see in the photos, every area of the car is eye-pleasing. Outside, inside, and underside are all in very nice condition, although not 100 point show quality. The wide-white tires have great tread, and the exhaust is in fine condition. The engine has the optional dress up kit with original finned valve covers. The investment value and desirability of this car speak for themselves. This car is a real head turner that receives thumbs up and horn beeps everywhere it goes and would compliment any garage and would be a hit at the local show or cruise. The car is priced for what it is, with the realization that it is not a rotisserie restoration. Please take the time to look at all the photos.

Ford cuts 950 Russian jobs on weak demand
Thu, 03 Apr 2014The Russian auto market, in decline for the past year and further hit by the declining value of the ruble and recent sanctions over its annexation of Crimea, has forced Ford to cut jobs and shifts at two of its joint venture plants there. Around 700 of the 2,700 total workers who build the Russian-market Focus and Mondeo will be cut at the plant in Vsevolozhsk, near St. Petersburg as it drops to a single production shift. A second plant about 700 miles away in Yelabuga, in the Tartarstan region, will lose 250 workers. That plant builds seven vehicles, including the Explorer, Kuga and Edge.
The Moscow Times says Ford has been especially hit by the market decline, the overall market losing 5.5 percent in 2013 compared to the year before, but Ford sales dropping 18 percent in 2013 year-on-year. This year isn't going any better, with The Blue Oval posting a 21-percent decline through the first two months of 2014. That's why, though the Yelabuga plant builds the CUVs that customers are moving into, even it is facing cuts.
The job cuts in Vsevolozhsk come on top four-week plant shutdown planned so that the paint and body shops can go to one shift. In a statement, the company said, "Ford Sollers remains absolutely committed to the Russian market and is confident it has the right product plan, people and assets to deliver long-term profitable growth."
Latest Forza Motorsport 5 car pack leaves us scratching our head (in a good way) [w/video]
Wed, Jul 2 2014As we scrolled down the roster of the latest car pack for Forza Motorsport 5, the Hot Wheels Car Pack, our expression became bemused over the strange mix of vehicles that we now have at our disposal. This is quite unlike any of the other sets of DLC Turn 10 Studios has offered. Sure, there are the typical headliner cars – the Lamborghini Veneno and 2015 Audi S3 – that will appeal to the mainstream racing fan or auto enthusiast. But this latest car pack is so jammed full of nuggets of automotive weirdness that it's hard not to get excited. The Hot Wheels pack has no shortage of racers, with a particular focus on historical offerings. A 1939 Auto Union Type D covers the pre-war era of Formula One, while a 1967 Lotus 49 and a 1952 Ferrari 375 represent post-war racing. For a modern twist, a Mazda USF2000 car slots in below the Indy Lights car from the Nurburgring booster pack. From here, things get vintage and weird. There are a pair of delightfully offbeat coupes, in the form of a 1974 Toyota Celica GT and a 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT (here's hoping we get a vintage Holden Monaro in the future). Those two are joined by a 1956 Ford F-100, which your author already plans on converting into a dragster with vinyl flames down the side (because that's what all vintage pickups should be). The new ride we're most excited about, though, is the 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500. Yes, that's the van from The A-Team, and we're sure it will prove to be an excellent canvas for the artists of FM5 to cover with airbrushed, fire-breathing unicorns and mystical, gray-haired wizards (or just poorly painted letters that read "Free Candy"). This latest car pack is the final monthly car pack for FM5, although Turn 10 is quick to point out that while the monthly updates are over, there will still be new batches of cars made available to gamers. As for the Hot Wheels pack, it's available now on Xbox Live for $9.99. Scroll down for the press release from Turn 10 Studios, as well as a video of the newest additions to Forza Motorsport 5's vehicle roster. Forza Motorsport 5 Hot Wheels Car Pack Now Available Turn 10 Studios is bringing the Hot Wheels® Car Pack to "Forza Motorsport 5," available for download today. The pack features a collection of vehicles built from the ground up for the new generation that car fans can collect and customize while putting their virtual driving skills to the test.
Inside Ford's high-tech climate chamber
Sat, Dec 27 2014There are two ways an automaker can test its vehicles in extreme climates: it can send said vehicle around the world – from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle – in search of the harshest weather, or it can recreate those conditions in an enclosed environment. We're sure that many automakers undertake some combination of both, but in this latest video clip, Ford shows us around inside it's state-of-the-art climate chamber. At its Driveability Test Facility in Allen Park, MI – inaugurated in 2010 just across the street from the Roush Technology Center – Ford can simulate all sorts of extreme conditions. It can drop the temperature down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or raise it up to 130, and take it up to a simulated 12,000 feet above sea level or drop it down to 280 feet below. blast it with 150-mile-per-hour winds. It can control the level of humidity, approximate the intensity of the sun and even blast the test vehicle with artificial snow, just like your favorite ski resort. The facility strikes us as an engineering feat as impressive as some of the vehicles it's used to test, but don't take our word for it – scope it out for yourself in this brief two-minute video clip, which even includes some helpful tips for winter driving this holiday season and beyond.
