Hello, I am selling my 1994 MTX SHO for $1000 negotiable. It was a blast to drive but its time to move on. Hopefully someone here will want her. She still has a strong motor and MTX tranny that have no problems.
Car is located in Queens NYC. Runs and drives.
It has 209,028 miles on it. I have the original SHO Slicers without tires on them which will be included. Ive been driving around with aftermarket rims.
Interior is in very good condition. Leather seats are very good. only one slight crack in drivers side seat cushion.
All door locks work and sunroof and window motors work
Full payment is due no later than 3 days from purchase. Work that has been done: Front and Rear Motor mounts changed less than 2k miles ago with brand new parts. These are not reinforced recycled mounts. Just changed spark plugs, air and fuel filter New Starter Rod bearings were installed 12k miles ago Changed out sub frame with clean, no rusted one around 20k mils ago Clutch cable was replaced 10k miles ago inner and outer tie rods 20k miles ago both control arms/ball joints 20k miles ago valve cover gaskets and o ring gaskets for spark plug wells done 20k miles ago clutch was done about 50k miles ago Front breaks and rotors have about 2k miles on them Rear breaks around 10k miles on them Battery replaced about 30k miles ago sunroof seal was replaced 40k miles ago MTX fluid was changed about 25k miles ago The Bad: Needs new water pump as it is slightly leaking from weep hole The passenger side was hit while parked. Everything was replaced except the passenger door. The dent isnt too bad, door opens and closes without any problems, but plastic SHO door molding is missing. The A/C accumulator hose has a crack in it so the system is not charged. Oil leaks from the rubber valve cover bolt gromets as they are the original ones. Front seal by the crank shaft has a slight oil leak. passenger side fog light is missing Had to remove blower motor fuse as the blower motor stays on high constantly even when heat is turned off. There is no stereo in the car, it was removed and I placed a touchscreen in the area that I use as my stereo system. All stock harnesses are still in place. Front sway bar is missing end links that connect them to the struts. One of the struts is missing the mounting hole for the end link as it broke off. Parking break cable is seized and will need a new one. |

Ford recalls 2020-21 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator, 2021 E-Series
Mon, Dec 21 2020Ford announced safety recalls for the 2020-2021 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator along with the 2021 E-Series early Monday. The recalls address entirely different issues. In the case of the 2020-2021 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator, that issue is motor mount hardware. Specifically, the fasteners that secure the passenger-side motor mount may back out. In Ford's words, this can result in a "loss of power," which is the entirely predictable result of an engine parting ways with the vehicle it powers. As alarming as that may sound, owners should not have to worry about anything extreme, as the passenger side mount is only one of multiple, and Ford says it is not aware of any incidents that have occurred with vehicles in customer hands. Ford says it impacts only about 1400 examples of the Explorer and Aviator in the States (plus two in Mexico and 65 in Canada) that were built at Chicago Assembly Plant between July 28 and 30, 2020. Ford is in the process of alerting its owners to the recall, and those with affected models will have their mount hardware replaced by their local Ford dealerships free of charge. The 2021 E-Series is being recalled for a potential heat management issue resulting from improperly aligned thermal insulation on the underside of its engine cover. In vehicles where this insulation was not properly installed so that it reaches all the way to the edges of the cover, the resulting heat bleed can cause high in-cabin surface temperatures, and direct contact them could result in burns. This is the larger of the two recalls, as Ford says it covers nearly 33,000 examples sold in the United States and Canada. Fortunately, as with the above issue, Ford says it has not been made aware of any customer incidents. Ford says the remedy is a set of insulation patches for the exposed areas. Related Video:
Ford announces free brake pad offer if customers stop by dealers
Mon, 04 Aug 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers.
"We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts.
Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1.
2015 Ford Transit Connect Wagon
Thu, May 28 2015The last time I tested a Ford Transit Connect, I needed to drive a group of friends to Boyne, MI, for a long weekend of skiing, snowboarding, and shenanigans. At roughly three hours, the trip is just long enough that my friends asked for something comfortable. A Range Rover would've been ideal. Perhaps a Mercedes-Benz GL or Cadillac Escalade. But no, I chose Transit Connect, to put Ford's small van formula to the test. The tiny van was near the end of its lifecycle in 2012, having debuted in Europe in 2003. Its age was reflected in its loud, underpowered, inefficient engine; noisy, harsh ride; and uncomfortable seats. It was so uncomfortable that we had to stop every hour just to stretch our legs. I didn't have such elaborate plans when this 2015 Transit Connect Wagon arrived in my driveway. But after a week behind the wheel, I can tell that road tripping in this van would be a far, far better experience. The most obvious change for the second-generation model is the styling. It's much better looking than the old TC, looking like the high-roofed spawn of a Focus and Escape. There are a few anomalies, though. First, note the word "Wagon" – that implies passenger van, while the cargo/work-minded Transit Connect is called "Van." Next, this Titanium model is only available on the longer-wheelbase, three-row Wagon. With the LWB configuration, the only tailgate option is a single-piece, lift-up hatch. If you want barn-style doors, get cozy with the short-wheelbase, two-row Transit Connect XLT. Regardless of body style, the Transit Connect Wagon's best styling feature is its enormous greenhouse that guarantees excellent visibility from any angle. The interior adopts a dash layout similar to the Focus. The heated leather seats – standard on the Titanium – are nice enough, but better still is that the chairs are actually comfortable now. The plastics on the dash and doors are still hard and scratchy, but fit and finish is solid. And with major contact points and switchgear that have been pilfered from other Ford products, including the steering wheel, the occasional bad bits in the cabin are easy enough to ignore. With room for three folks in the second row and two more in the back, the Transit Connect Wagon fills a role that is more utilitarian and spartan, but not much less versatile than traditional minivans. The middle row seats feature stadium-style raised seating, and both rows can slide forward and back or fold.
