Up for sale is my 2004 Ford Ranger.  This truck has been nothing but awesome for the past 3 years I've owned it.  I gave the truck a full tune up about 20,000 miles ago including plugs, wires, cleaning out the throttle body and intake system, lubing up any necessary components, flushing the transmission fluid, the power steering fluid, recharging the a/c, changed the air and fuel filters, oil, and oil filter.  The truck got new drums in the back about 10,000 miles ago and the pads up front were replaced about 15,000 miles ago.  The tires are all in good shape and have a good 40-50% thread left.  I purchased the tremor package wheels and tires as that's not what originally came with the truck and it transformed the ride completely.  Last weekend I rotated and balanced the tires.  I also installled a new windshield on the truck about 3 weeks ago.  It also has an aftermarket Kenwood unit with USB and auxiliary connections and Pandora capabilities.

I purchased the truck when it had just under 110,000 miles from a used car lot in Tennessee.  I was told by them that the truck had been involved in an accident but they repaired everything and had the truck inspected to be legally drivable in Tennessee which it passed with flying colors.  When I bought it, I had to get it re-inspected in Georgia to be able to register it and again it passed with flying colors.

That being said, this is a ten year old truck and it's not perfect.  It has a few imperfections that are all minor but I'll mention them just to be as transparent as possible.  The driver side door and fender have a couple of dents from someone opening the door and denting it in a parking lot.  I wasn't able to catch them so I didn't get it fixed but the dents are not very significant and there's no paint peeling, just a couple of small dings.  The tailgate has a couple of dents as well and there are a couple of minor scratches on the right side but not visible unless you're up close.  In the interior, the only imperfection is a rip in the seat that can be seen in the pictures.  Obviously, none of this is mechanical and all purely cosmetic and not visible or enough to be an issue for me as a daily driver.

This truck is in great shape.  The engine pulls strong and shows no signs of slowing down.  I haven't towed much with this truck since I bought it either, just my jet ski twice when I used to have one.  It constantly gets me between 20 and 23 miles per gallon combined and has a more torque than 4 cylinder compacts out there getting similar mileage.  Anyone that has owned Rangers in the past knows these trucks run forever.  If you have any further questions, please let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost

Fri, 16 May 2014

Earlier this week, Ford invited us to Charlotte, NC, to ride in an all-new 2015 Mustang fitted with its turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. It's the first forced-induction, four-cylinder ponycar for the Blue Oval since the sun set on the 1986 Mustang SVO. We jumped at the opportunity, as only a handful of people have ever been in the passenger seat of this new car, and most automotive media won't get as close as we did until this fall.
As we revealed in our Deep Dive, Ford will slot this new turbocharged four as premium powerplant between its naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. At last mention, the automaker said the direct-injected, all-aluminum engine will develop 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, returning the best fuel economy of the three powerplants in the process. History buffs will note that those figures are appreciably stouter than the 200 horses and 240 lb-ft that the '86 SVO realized out of the same displacement, and the latter's figures were hugely impressive at the time. On paper, the new EcoBoost four looks to be a good fit for most owners who want to balance performance with efficiency - we were eager to see how it felt from the passenger seat.

This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.

Lincoln recycling tree fibers into new MKX armrest

Thu, Feb 27 2014

Want to hug a tree, or at least a really small part of one. Then set your arm down on one of those armrests in the 2014 Lincoln MKX crossover. The US automaker is working with Weyerhaeuser and Johnson Controls on a tree-based, cellulose-reinforced polypropylene material used in the component that connects the armrest to the floor console, Wards Auto says. With properties similar to plastic, the tree-based material replaces fiberglass and is about six percent lighter. No big deal for now, but if the material starts getting used for things like battery trays and interior storage covers, that loss in weight may eventually start adding up enough to boost fuel economy a bit, providing a green double bonus. Lincoln parent Ford, which isn't saying how much more (or less?) it costs to use the new material, established its Biomaterials and Plastics Research team in 2001. In 2007, the company began using soy-based foam in car seats used for models such as the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Mustang and has since broadened biomaterials use to components like floormats and cupholder inserts. Ford also used recycled plastic bottles from the 2012 North America International Auto Show for seats in the Focus Electric.
