Saint Louis, Missouri, United States
For sale: a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT (extended cab). Runs great. New battery. New fuel pump. New thermostat. Engine and transmission in good shape. This has the flaireside/stepside bed, which is a MAJOR help when hauling anything. Tonneau cover, bed mat, truck box, power windows, etc... Cosmetically it will need some work, inside and out. Noticeable dents on rear bumper (and rust), front bumper and near front, drivers side wheel well. Some hail damage on hood and roof. Gear lever alignment is slightly off, but doesn't affect driving at all. Seats could use a good shampooing. Paint peeling on hood. Overall the truck runs great. 145,6xx miles. Engine replaced approx. 5 years ago and running great ever since. Transmission is good. Engine is V6, 4.0L. Rear wheel drive. COLD A/C. Heat gets very warm. Kelley's Blue Book value in EXCELLENT condition is $5400. FAIR condition is $4500. Truck qualifies as fair condition because it runs just fine but I'll let it go for $3200 OBO. Please read the condition notes. I tried to list everything but it's possible I missed something. Overall the truck runs great and will get you to points A & B just fine. Most issues are cosmetic only. Please contact the seller if you have any questions regarding this vehicle before you bid. There are no warranties included being that this vehicle is a 2000. Being sold as is. But as I've mentioned a few times, no major powertrain issues to my knowledge. Only selling because I recently purchased a new vehicle and don't have a need for this truck anymore. |

Ford Announces Free Brake-Pad Offer If Customers Stop By Dealers
Mon, Aug 4 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers. "We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts. Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1. "This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle," said Frederiek Toney, President of Ford Customer Service, in the company's announcement of the offer. These Canadians somehow forgot how to drive in snow
Tue, Dec 6 2016Montreal drivers experienced a slow-motion pileup on their streets this weeks thanks to the first snow fall of the season. According to the CBC, slippery conditions caused a small pileup involving cars, buses and even a street clearing vehicle. Onlookers in neighboring office buildings watched as vehicle after vehicle slid down Cote du Beaver Hall and crashed into the scrum of waiting cars. First there was a city bus, then a white Ford F-150 work truck loaded down with ladders, then another city bus came along and sandwiched the poor F-150. A Montreal Police Charger then came down the hill backwards, hit the bus in a slow, sad crash before it was crashed into by an out of control plow truck. Since its posting yesterday, the video of the crash has gone viral. Various other vehicles–a green-topped Scion delivery truck and a couple workaday sedans–were lucky enough to escape the pileup, but still suffered through a white-knuckled slippery descent down the hill. Colin Creado, who works nearby the crash site, told the CBC although it was pretty slippery, he was surprised at all the carnage since the storm was forecast well in advance. "You would have thought ... they would have salted the area or at least cordoned it off, because that road is pretty steep," he told the station.
