 1984 Ford Ranger Hot Rod

Black with ghost flames, tubbed out (16.5” rear tires), Ford rear end, cowl induction hood (made from a stock Ford hood), shaved door handles, custom gas tank and battery in bed, centerline rims.  Dual side mirrors (from a 1985 Mustang).  Includes a tonneau cover (not shown).

Summit crate engine, Ford Racing Boss 302, 345 HP.  Rebuilt C4 transmission with a manual throttle body and shift kit.  Holley 650 CFM carburetor.  Power steering.  Air conditioning.

Custom interior.  Bucket seats from a 1971 Torino.  Custom door panels and headliner (flames in headliner and door panels). Black Carpet. Custom gauge cluster using Dolphin gauges.  Ratchet shifter.  CD player/radio.

Truck was built about 7 years ago by a local Hot Rod shop (Joe's Rod Shop).  Two months ago, was completely gone through by the same shop.  Shows some age, but overall, in excellent condition.  Great for cruising.  Designed and built to be “streetable”.   Invested over $16,000.

I have put about 1000 miles on this truck since it was built.  No time, and now I am moving.  MUST SELL.  BID WITH CONFIDENCE.

Ken Block walks you through his new 'Hoonigan Racing' HQ

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

Ken Block seems like one hell of a nice guy. I ran into him at CES this past January, and he dropped the video games he was playing to chat with me for a while. His crew also recently gave our Steve Ewing a tour of the offices you're about to see on this video. Good guy to know.
As it turns out, they're some fairly cool new digs. Dubbed 'Hoonigan Racing Division HQ,' the office is open to Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST owners who attend the driving program offered out at Miller Motorsports Park. The very same program that Ewing reported on just recently.
Or, if you've no plans to buy an ST or travel to Utah any time soon, you can let Block show you around himself in this MTV Cribs-style video. With interior decorating that relies heavily on shipping containers and luxurious amenities like a ping pong table, 10 refrigerators and a bear(?), there's no lack of eye-candy in the driverly HQ. (Judging by Block's outfit, you'll probably not go thirsty if you're a Monster drinker, either.) Take the tour along with the Gymkhana master, below.

Ford Mustang EcoBoost has fake engine soundtrack

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

The 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost represents a huge change for the Blue Oval as the first pony car in decades to be available with a four-cylinder engine. But a recent tweet (below) from Road & Track raised our curiosity about the new vehicle. Editor Jason Cammisa pulled a fuse while driving the latest 'Stang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, and he found that both the stereo and engine went quiet in the cabin. That indicated the coupe might have some form of artificial engine sound being piped in - a feature not previously heavily reported for the model. Autoblog spoke with Ford engineer Shawn Carney who confirmed that only the turbocharged four-cylinder Mustang comes with this system, called Active Noise Control.

Ford bringing 10 custom Transit Connects to SEMA

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

With 57 vehicles planned for its SEMA display, it comes as little surprise that Ford has plenty of teasers for its show cars. After showing us what it has in store for the Mustang, Fiesta and Focus ST, now we're getting a look at some of the custom creations based on the redesigned 2014 Transit Connect van.
These nine Transit Connects are decked out to various degrees of customization, but our favorite might be the chopped and lowered Transit Connect from Mob Steel (shown above), which has a similar slammed stance that we see on some custom VW Buses. On the opposite extreme, LGE & CTS Motorsports has jacked up a Transit Connect to make a Cross Country cruiser that we wouldn't mind taking on a road trip.
There are seven other teasers from various companies, and you can check them all out in the gallery above or in the press release below. Ford is also promising a tenth Transit Connect for SEMA, so stay tuned for that as well.
