We have found this lovely very rare original 1968 Ford Ranchero GT390 in the possession of the family of the second owner (since 1970) sitting in Santa Barbara California.
This very rare Ranchero GT 390 was purchased by the grand father of our client (whom we are selling it for) in 1970 and hasn't left California since he bought it at Galpin Ford as "slightly used"
It had been stored from 1971 until 1994 (when the grand father died) then used by his daughter for the next several years.
In 1994 She had it repainted the original color of Gulf Stream Aqua (per the Marti Report) and had the original 390 engine rebuilt (the valve guides we set up for unleaded fuel at that time)
One of only 1669 Ranchero GTs produced in 1968, one of only 17 produced with these paint/trim codes, this is truly a rare find indeed.
From the factory with the following equipment:
390 2V Engine
Gulfstream Aqua Paint with C Stripe
Black Vinyl Bench Seat
C-6 Select Shift Cruise O Matic Automatic Transmission
3.00 Rear End
Black Vinyl Roof
Power Disc Brakes
Power Steering
Am Radio
Tinted Glass
Convenience Control Panel
Other than one correct paint job and correct engine rebuild this lovely 1968 Ranchero GT is original and shows very well. Vinyl top is excellent, comes with lots of new and good used spare parts. Such as custom bed carpet, dash cover, 4 wheel covers, ranchero script, service records back to early 1990''s and much more.
Look at the photos, this is a great driver or a perfect cadidate for a full restoration of a very rare Ranchero.

Ford sued over alleged 3.5-liter EcoBoost defects
Thu, 16 May 2013Three Ford owners from Ohio have filed a lawsuit against the automaker over defects that they allege exist within the company's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Automotive News reports that the lawsuit claims the engine "contained serious latent design, manufacturing, or assembly defects." Those defects, the suit claims, cause the vehicle to shake, misfire and lose power quickly.
Two of the plaintiffs, a married couple, own a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and allege they experienced a loss of power and stalling, while the third, an F-150 owner, claims he lost power while accelerating. In addition to the Taurus SHO and F-150, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine is also available in the Ford Flex, Explorer Sport and Lincoln MKT and MKS. Other three- and four-cylinder EcoBoost engines are not included in the suit. There have been no recalls associated with 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently not investigating the matter.
The plaintiffs, however, claim Ford has known about the problem, citing several technical service bulletins issued to dealers of the F-150 that suggest possible fixes. Ford had no comment for Automotive News, saying that it's yet to review the lawsuit, which was filed last Friday in Columbus, OH.
Ford brings FPV Falcon production in house [w/video]
Thu, 21 Feb 2013For the first time since 1976, Ford of Australia is bringing the assembly of its stonking Ford Performance Vehicle line back in-house to the company's Broadmeadows and Geelong facilities. That's a point of pride for FPV, which builds high-performance versions of the Australian Falcon model like the F6, GS and the heroic GT seen here.
In the video below, we hear FPV employees talking in hushed tones about the important legacy that cars like the GT have for Australian gearheads of all stripes, and how proud they are to say that hand-built machines like this GT R-Spec with its Boss 355 engine are now rolling out of their home base. For our part, we're just dying to drive this version of the Coyote V8; the engine is rocking a "Miami" supercharger from Harrop and makes some 450 horsepower.
Continue on below for the video, or you can check out some images of the new FPV at the facility, as well as a gallery of the GT R-Spec car.
