1967 FORD RANCHERO. ORIGINAL PAINT AND SHEET METAL, HOWEVER HAS BEEN UPDATED WITH A LATE 90'S MUSTANG GT DRIVE TRAIN FOR FUN AND DRIVE ABILITY.

BEING A HUGE FAN OF 67 RANCHEROS I WAS VERY EXCITED WHEN I FOUND THIS RANCHERO OUT IN WESTERN KANSAS. THE BODY HAS ALMOST NO RUST, ORIGINAL SHEET METAL AND PAINT. THE FLOORS ARE VERY SOLID WITH VERY LITTLE RUST. THE PANS WERE REPLACED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. I CANNOT FIND ANY RUST IN THE BED. THE CHROME IS COMPLETE AND IN GREAT CONDITION. THE FRONT BUMPER IS BENT AND THE REAR BUMPER IS STRAIGHT. THE GLASS LOOK ORIGINAL AND UNBROKEN.

WHAT MAKES THIS RANCHERO MORE UNUSUAL IS IT HAS VERY WELL INSTALLED LATE MODEL MUSTANG GT MOTOR WITH A ROLLER CAM, FUEL INJECTED AND FACTORY HEADERS WITH THE MATCHING 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION. THE REAR IS ORIGINAL HOUSING WITH AN UPDATED 3:50 POSI-SPOOL CENTER SECTION. THIS RANCHERO IS AWESOME TO DRIVE. WHEN I'M AT A STOP LIGHT PEOPLE ADMIRE THE RANCHERO AND WHEN I LEAVE THE STOP LIGHT SMOKING THE TIRES THROUGH 1ST, 2ND AND INTO 3RD GEAR PEOPLE ARE SHOCKED. THEY TRY TO FOLLOW ME AND ASK "WHAT THE HELL'S IN THAT?".

WE REBUILT THE FRONT END. NEW LOWER CONTROL ARMS, BALL JOINTS, COIL SPRING, ETC. THE FRONT END STILL SET HIGH AND HASN'T SETTLE BACK DOWN. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN UPDATED WITH POWER BOOSTER, BUT STILL HAVE DRUMS FRONT AND REAR.  THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY DRY OF ANY LEAKS, STARTS AND RUNS NEAR PERFECT. THE DASH HAS BEEN UPDATED WITH NEW INDIVIDUAL GAUGES AND AM/FM CD PLAYER, BUT AN ORIGINAL CLUSTER COULD BE RE INSTALLED IF SOMEONE WANTED THE VINTAGE LOOK. THE WHEELS AND TIRES ARE ALMOST NEW AND COST ALMOST $2,000.00. THE INTERIOR NEEDS TO HAVE A CARPET KIT AND NEW DOOR PANELS. COST LESS THAN $400.00. I'VE JUST NEVER GOTTEN AROUND TO IT.

ANYONE IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO COME INSPECT THE VEHICLE PRIOR THE AUCTION ENDING. I'M AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS VIA EMAIL OR BY PHONE.  THANKS FOR LOOKING, CHRIS 816.590.7660.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters

Sun, 28 Sep 2014

The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.

These horribly misguided front-drive design studies nearly became the Mustang

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

As we eagerly await the unveiling of the all-new sixth-generation Mustang, Ford has been giving us some great information over the past few months showing what has gone into shaping its venerable pony car. As many changes as the Mustang has gone through in its 50 years, though, it appears the fourth-gen model played a decisive and pivotal role in the car's future.
As is part of Mustang lore, the front-wheel drive Ford Probe was originally developed as a next-generation Mustang in the Eighties before cooler heads prevailed. The Blue Oval has just released a handful of images showing how bad things could have been - including a full-scale clay model of a front-wheel-drive Mustang (shown above). Fortunately, the FWD Mustang plan was scrapped and Ford went to work designing a rear-wheel-drive replacement for the Fox Body Mustang, with three design studies making it far enough to become full-scale models. These include the soft "Bruce Jenner" Mustang, the over-the-top "Rambo" Mustang and the middle-ground "Arnold Schwarzenegger" Mustang, which finally became the basis for the 1994 'Stang.
By early 1991, the design language of the fourth-generation Mustang had been worked out, and the rest, they say, is history. Scroll down for the fascinating press release telling the story of the fourth-gen Mustang, and be sure to check out the gallery of horribly misguided sketches and various design studies that were all on the table in the late 1980s.

Chevy, GMC and Ram dealers are worried they'll run out of new pickups

Wed, May 6 2020

One of the unexpected side effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is a shortage of pickups at Chevrolet, GMC and Ram dealers. Supplies are running out, and the factories that build these trucks remain closed. Stores across the nation began increasing incentives in March, when the first stay-at-home orders were issued, in a bid to continue luring buyers into showrooms. They also launched online sales channels, or expanded their existing digital business. Sales nonetheless plummeted in April 2020, but in-demand vehicles, like the Ram 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado, are still selling relatively well thanks in part to the aforementioned incentives. Pickups outsold sedans for the first time in April 2020, according to The Detroit News, by 17,000 units. The problem is that General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), and Ford temporarily closed their factories in March. "The pipeline is very dry," said Mike Maroone, the CEO of a large dealership group named Maroone USA, in an interview with Automotive News. He told the publication his Chevrolet stores are sitting on a 30-day supply of the Silverado, which is one of America's best-selling vehicles. "That is a problem for us," he concluded. Coronavirus-related lockdowns and factory closures compound problems already faced by dealerships who represent General Motors-owned brands. They entered 2020 with a thinner inventory than a year earlier due to the 40-day United Auto Workers (UAW) strike that paralyzed the company late in 2019, and the 0%, 84-month offers announced in March have sapped supply. Ram wasn't affected by a strike, but it has relied heavily on generous incentives to move trucks off lots. Ford, on the other hand, limited incentives to 2019 models. Inventory levels differ greatly from region to region. The national average for the Silverado stood at an 82-day supply in March 2020, down from 120 in March 2019. Ram stores had a 114-day supply of the 1500 (compared to 134 a year earlier), while Ford bucked that trend with a 111-day supply versus 84 in 2019. Don't panic if you're in the market for a truck; we're not facing a complete drought. Automotive News added that America's light-duty pickup inventory could fall to 400,000 units by the end of May, and drop further to 260,000 units in June. For context, there were about 700,000 light-duty trucks in stock in May and June of 2019. That's unquestionably a sharp drop, but there will still be over a quarter of a million trucks to choose from.
