Ford Mustang Mach 1 on 2040-cars
Chantilly, Virginia, United States
This is a solid project car, runs, drives, stops, steers and can be driven on the street while you fix up. This is an all original 1969 Mach 1. Car needs paint, body, interior work. Sold "as is". I bought to restore, don't have time. Car is missing its trim rings on wheels. Dash pad cracked and faded. Seats all good except drivers its foam worn, torn and foam can be seen. Its rusty here and there. Worst rust right side trunk floor pan is shot. Fender aprons rusted at overlap as usual. Floors and underneath are good in my opinion. Engine is original, trans is original . Minor power steering leak, small oil leak. I found in a barn, replaced gas tank, sender, cleaned lines, replaced fuel pump, carb, and she runs great. Very strong runner, shifts nice. Primer on car is from misc. sanding and covering up bare metal to keep from rusting. Black out hood treatment faded off, I have started to reapply but haven't finished. Rim blow works, disk brakes, 9", m code 351 4 valve. Have the Marti report. Sold as is. No warranty. This is a very solid all original all ford all they way it left factory solid project. Wimbledon white with red/burgundy interior. Non working am still in it. 3 speed FMX . Please understand this is not a restored car with the real car hidden below paint and bodywork. This is a unrestored original car, I can impress enough this needs restored but it doesn't have any hidden stuff going on. The lower quarters are rusted, both doors corners are slightly rusted "no holes in doors, rockers and fenders are rust free ford fenders that came on car, same with doors . Roof solid, floors nice except trunk floor . I have put a new tank in and even had the factory original carb rebuilt by a local rebuilder that goes with car. I just added a holley performance carb with electric choke. I also have the factory air cleaner assembly. Door glasses are out, both are good tinted door glass but they became loose in regulator so I pulled them out for safe keeping. Turn signals in scoop work, all lights work, all interior lights work except dash lights. Radio and dash lights no not work assume its a fuse, but don't know for sure. Tires are as new but showing light dry rot, bf goodrich t/a's. Car is kept inside. I will not deliver. I will not allow car to leave until payment is made in full in cash, or cashiers check or wire transfer to my bank and my bank confirms funds are there. $500.00 deposit to be paid through pay pal within 48 hours of close of auction. This is a great car, basket case Mach 1 mustangs are easy and cheap to buy. Totally restored examples are unaffordable for most. The reserve on this car is very favorable when you look at both ends of the spectrum. Not very often can you find one that hasn't been messed with and is all factory original as this one. One more disclosure this is a project car, it needs work, every part needs attention, but every part is there and every part is Ford. Car is located in Central Virginia, just outside Richmond. If you want to call to ask a question my name is Tom 804-572-0954

Listen to the 2016 Shelby GT350R roar
Tue, Jun 2 2015With only 137 examples to be built this year, it may be a while before you get the chance to hear the new Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang clear its throat. Fortunately the boys at the Blue Oval have got that part covered, at least in part, with the release of this video. The short clip is only 25 seconds long, but shows the new track-tuned pony car revving its 5.2-liter V8 heart away on the track. And with output in excess of 500 horses and 400 pound-feet of torque, boy can she sing. This isn't actually the first time we're hearing the new GT350 kick over altogether, but the previous video was taken down shortly after it went up – and that was for the non-R version anyway. This, then, represents the first time to hear the new top-of-the-line pony car doing its thang, and we hope it'll stick around long enough at least for you to get an ear-full. So turn up the speakers, sit back, and hit play to hear the soundtrack that no artificially amplified turbo four will ever manage to replace.
Ford starting up 2.0L EcoBoost engine production in Ohio
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Joe Hinrichs, Ford's President of The Americas (pictured above), announced today that in late 2014, the automaker will be building the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder at its Cleveland Engine Plant, a move requiring a $200-million investment and the hiring of 450 new employees. European-built Ford products will continue to source this engine from the Valencia, Spain plant where all of these EcoBoost four-cylinder engines are currently built, and the new Cleveland engines will be used for all North American-made models.
Ford is planning to build its popular EcoBoost engines regionally to maximize production capacity and meet customer demand. Last year, Ford sold 334,364 vehicles with EcoBoost engines in the US alone, and that number is expected to swell to more than 500,000 by the end of this year, with global sales expected to total 1.6 million. By 2015, Ford says that 95 percent of its nameplates will offer an EcoBoost engine.
One such vehicle that could be adding an EcoBoost engine, according to Automotive News, is none other than the 2015 Ford Mustang. The report says that Ford could use either the 2.0-liter EcoBoost or an upcoming 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the sixth-generation pony car.
AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction
Sat, Sep 9 2023Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale.
