This is my amazing 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca (#649 of 750).
About the Laguna Seca model, it is a factory option that is the track-oriented version of the Boss 302. On top of
the standard Boss it included the paint and decal scheme, the rear seat delete kit with crossbrace, different
adjustable damper settings, different springs, staggered and different style wheels, different tires, a different
rear spoiler, lower production numbers and probably some other things I can't recall. It also included a different
front splitter, transmission air scoop, and a brake cooling duct kit, but they are not factory installed on the
car, they come in a box. The car comes with a silver key and a red key (the TracKey.) This is so you can use the
regular engine tune or the TracKey tune, depending on which key you use. The TracKey programming (Which is
purchased aftermarket and installed by a Ford dealer) includes several differences, most notably the removal of the
skip-shift "feature" that annoyingly forces you to shift from 1st to 4th under certain acceleration conditions, and
improved throttle response. I mention the throttle response because for me, it is the most noticeable difference
between the keys. The regular key responds fine to throttle increase, but has a tendency to hang at RPM when you
reduce throttle. The red key responds instantly in both directions and adds a lot of character to the naturally
aspirated awesomeness of the car. The red key also has RPM adjustable launch control, pit lane speed control, and a
more aggressive idle. When you shift gears with the silver key, it sounds like it's ripping open a black hole,
while the red key usually includes some wonderful popping sounds.
Those are general Laguna Seca highlights, let's talk about this car:
I am the original owner and am very sad to let it go. However, my loss is your gain!
I bought the car in Delaware in December 2011. The miles are mostly highway, as the car has been all over the US.
It's been garaged for most of its existence, just not the last 6 months. My expectation after buying it was to keep
it forever.

Ford previews new C-Max ahead of upcoming debut
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Looking at a Ford Focus? These days you can get it as a five-door hatch, a four-door sedan, or... that's all. European buyers don't even get our sedan, but they do get a wagon. And while the three-door hatch, two-door coupe and two-door cabrio have long since ended production, buyers around the world can also get the company's larger C-Max. And now, like the Focus upon which it's based, Ford is preparing to roll out a new version.
The tall wagon (or small minivan, depending on your perspective) is being treated to what Ford says is "an extreme makeover." Details to accompany the teaser image above remain few and far between, but following the spy shots we recently posted, it looks destined for some of the same visual updates as Ford rolled out on the 2015 Focus, with "even more refinement, practicality and technology."
Like the Mercedes B-Class, which is only available Stateside as an EV, American buyers can only get the C-Max in electrified form, either as the C-Max Hybrid or C-Max Energi. Overseas buyers, however, will be able to choose from a range of powertrain options and two wheelbase lengths - the longer of which boasts seven seats and the Grand C-Max name. (Remember when Chrysler did the same with its minivans?) Both are set to debut on September 17, so watch this space. After that, we'll expect to see it on display at the Paris Motor Show.
Forza Motorsport 6 shows off the Ford GT's active rear spoiler
Tue, Aug 18 2015We knew that among the many technical treats provided by the Ford GT is an active rear wing, and we knew that the domestic exotic is going to grace the cover of Forza Motorsport 6. What we didn't know is how that rear wing looked when deployed, and thanks to Forza, now we do. If the driving game is being its usual model of accuracy, then the GT wing is no joke - everyone will know when you mean business. We've seen this kind of setup on the Bugatti Veyron and, more subtly, on the McLaren P1. Like those two examples, the GT flap automatically changes its angle in different conditions, such as under braking. When Ford gave us a tour of the GT interior we noticed a lot of buttons, now we're wondering if any of them allow the driver to deploy the wing at will. There is a button marked "aero," but no associated graphic to explain what it's for. The AR12 Gaming host of the video above isn't there for the GT, though - he's responding to audience requests for 60-frames-per-second gameplay footage in Forza, and to see how the tire smoke looks while drifting. But his stop-and-go drifting efforts give us plenty of footage of the wing in action, so check it out.
Britain orders 10,000 ventilators from F1/McLaren/Mercedes/Ford/Rolls-Royce/Airbus
Mon, Mar 30 2020Paramedics and ambulance personnel get instructions from a command unit outside London's ExCel Centre arena, which is being turned into a 4,000 bed temporary hospital called NHS Nightingale to deal with coronavirus patients. The hospital is due to open Monday, March 30. / AP Â Â LONDON — Britain has ordered 10,000 ventilators from a consortium of leading aerospace, engineering and Formula One racing companies which will start production this week in response to an urgent government call for industry to help save lives. The 27-strong team, including Airbus, BAE Systems, Ford and Rolls-Royce, have joined forces to ramp up production of a ventilator made by Smiths Group, which supports those with complications from COVID-19. The consortium, which also includes seven Formula One teams including McLaren and Mercedes, home to World Champion Lewis Hamilton, said they had pulled staff off existing projects to meet the national need. Some 1,228 people have died from coronavirus in the United Kingdom and a senior health official said on Saturday the country would be doing well if it manages to keep the death toll below 20,000. "This consortium brings together some of the most innovative companies in the world," Dick Elsy, the head of the consortium, said in a statement. "I am confident this consortium has the skills and tools to make a difference and save lives." The United Kingdom, which initially only had 5,000 ventilators available in its National Health Service, has been trying to secure additional supplies after realising it needed 30,000 to cope with the peak of the outbreak. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is now in isolation in Downing Street after testing positive for coronavirus, made an emergency appeal earlier this month for manufacturers to retool their production lines and start making specialist health equipment including ventilators. Britain now has about 8,000 ventilators, with another 8,000 on order from international manufacturers that are due in coming weeks. Last week it placed an order for a newly-designed model from the vacuum cleaner company Dyson that will need to be approved by the health regulator. Mercedes part of a separate effort, too Separately on Monday a second consortium including Mercedes Formula One and other F1 teams said it had developed in less than a week a new version of a breathing aid that can help coronavirus patients.
