2006 - Ford Mustang on 2040-cars
Loves Park, Illinois, United States
Up for auction is a 2006 Ford Mustang GT Premium Convertible, Automatic, white w/ tan top. This is a 1-owner vehicle which has spent it's life in South Carolina and Georgia so it hasn't seen much salt or winter conditions. The vehicle is located in Newnan, GA (Atlanta area) and is being sold for my sister. She has driven the car mostly on weekends because she works out of town a lot. The car has 73k miles and drives and shifts great. Brakes and tires are both good with a decent amount of life remaining. Oil changes and regular maintenance has been done and the car has been garage kept regularly. The tan convertible top has just been professionally replaced which looks really great (receipt included). The quality and fitment of the new top is even better than the original that it replaced, mainly because of how it's made and around the rear window. The car has the nicer model wheels that were available, and the tan top really sets it apart from the more common black one. The car has never been involved in an accident or had any body work, but does have some marks on the front and back bumpers as pictured. There are also a few small scratches on top of the rear bumper, but other than the bumpers the rest of the body is in excellent condition with virtually no dents. The tan leather interior is in good condition, however the fabric on the door panels has pulled loose on both doors, probably from being parked in the sun with the top down. The pieces could be glued back on or the door panels re-upolstered. The wheels are very nice, and do not have any major curb marks. The car is very clean, however the engine is kinda dirty, and could use a good cleaning.. Car comes with original owners manual, wheel lock set, 2 sets of keys, and other literature included when purchased new. Paypal deposit of $500 due within 48 hours of end of listing and remainder of payment in person when picking up the car in GA. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Ken Block ain't got a care about ruining his wheels
Tue, 22 Jan 2013During a drifting session at Irwindale Speedway in California, Ken Block made a boo-boo that would send a number of drivers immediately back to the infield. But there's an answer to "What do you do when you bash the wall while drifting and your wheel explodes?" and there's completely different answer when the question begins with the phrase, "When you're Ken Block..."
Instead of us telling you how Block handled the calamity in his Ford Fiesta competition car, you can watch it happen in the video below. You can probably also guess what it is - but it's more fun to watch.
Next Ford Mustang to drop 400 pounds
Thu, 15 Aug 2013The Ford Mustang is already the lightest of the current crop of muscle cars, at around 3,600 pounds for a GT coupe with the six-speed manual transmission. That's almost 260 pounds less than a Chevrolet Camaro SS and about 450 pounds less than a Dodge Challenger R/T, which means the Mustang has a pretty big advantage when it comes to handling, braking, accelerating and economy. More good news: The next Mustang will be even lighter.
According to a report from Edmunds, the sixth-generation Mustang, which is set to debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, will shed an additional 400 pounds of body fat. That 11-percent weight reduction will be thanks to lightweight materials, with a particular focus on using stronger, but less material in construction. Aluminum will feature heavily, but Edmunds' inside source warns that there is "nothing terribly exotic" coming to the original pony car.
The other big news is that the new Mustang will be smaller overall. It's going to be 15-inches shorter than the 188.5-inch Mustang on sale today, while it'll also be 6.5 inches narrower. Shorter overhangs, both in the front and rear, are also good signs for those that want an agile Mustang.
Ford acquires Livio to bolster connectivity biz
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Ford Motor Company has announced the acquisition of Livio, a Ferndale, MI-based software development company best known for aftermarket in-car connectivity devices, but also as a supplier of technology for proprietary systems for automakers. Livio, co-founded by Sigal and Massimo Baldini, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Global Technologies.
"With the additional expertise Livio provides us, Ford intends to continue to lead the next generation of in-car connectivity with technology advancements that give consumers more options to access their devices on the go," said Paul Mascarenas, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Research and Innovation, in a statement.
Ford is clearly trying to beef up its in-house tech capability around telematics and device connectivity. While the Blue Oval has been a leader in these areas with SYNC and MyFord Touch in terms of getting the systems into as many cars as possible, the execution of the applications have been criticized for glitches.
